Good Morning Pond Family, A little slow-going this morning. Just wanted to sleep in, but that's something I can do tomorrow. I called about a job with an AARP program for seniors. You work 18 hours a week, and also look for work.
At least it's Friday. Any plans for your weekend? Don't forget to help Surfie with some Cookbook titles. Will be fun for us.
Here's my ideas so far today: "Would a moose eat it?" "Fins and Feet" (fish and meat) "Cake-a-long" "Play with your Cake"
I had no idea that AARP has a job program for seniors. I may be looking into it. 18 hours a week is just about right for me. I miss working. I waste a lot of time.
How about "What a Crock - Recipes for My Favorite Kitchen Appliance." No Joke, it really is my favorite.
Funny article on WND. White House Reporters "Ask What Should I ask Obama?" I guess we aren't the only ones asking.
I had no idea AARP had such a program, either. Good luck, Wog!
Took this afternoon off. Just got a GREAT haircut. Home in time to watch the Obama press conference. Pray that I don't throw something at the TV. I'll turn it off if it starts to wreck my good mood. Anybody else going to watch?
Eat me! Having their cake and eat it too! Soylent green salads Chewing the cud Kiss my grits! Dumpster diving meals Burp! oh, excuse me! Play with your food I will stand with the Mushrooms (should the gastronomical winds shift in an ugly direction) Come tip toe through the turnips with me Tea Party hors d'oeuvres Eating the Golden Goose by Socialism Hey, Mr. Tangerine Man
Phooey, you are amazing! I'm crazy about every one on your list. I also like Gloria's What a Crock idea. I just packed my crockpot. I love it!
We met with the realtor today. As much as I love my friend, Steve, going with this woman is the right thing to do for us. Steve has been "out of it" for a year. He'd need to get up to speed with the area and what's been going on real estate wise. When it comes to business, friendship can only go so far. We're going to take a loss on this place as it is, but I want someone who will hold out for the best offer. She'll tell us if she thinks we can do better or if we should take it. I found her to be very savvy. Joe thought so, too. Whew! That was a relief.
Surfie and Gloria, About the AARP program: in Washington State it is called "Senior Community Service Employment Program." They will pay you $165 a week to work 18 hours a week at a Food Bank or thrift store. But you must actively look for a real job. It's just something to help until you can get employed. I am actually interested to see how it works. I have no doubt that I will find work. It is just taking longer than I thought.

Hey, Mr. Tangerine Man
Phooey, I knew we could count on you for some inspiring titles! Surfie should get some good ideas from your list, your funny list!
DeletePhoo, so funny. I have read your list 4 times, LOL.

Did the president say anything important?
He seldom says anything worthwhile.
