How about you?

  1. Good Morning Pond Family,
In case you missed it, our Deer Paget wrote a post on Sunday. Have a read.
What interesting news tidbits will we get this week?

    1. Hi Wog, I see my Oncol, and primrary Docs this week. I'll let you know the results.
Is it time for Wagyu steaks and Lobster yet ? or champagne toasts ?
      Of course Courvoisier afterwards.

  4. The picture looks like Hawaii. It is certainly tropical and I want to be there, too! I like my margaritas frozen. Coco Loco or Mai Tai would also be fine.

Couldn't get on here yesterday. Still figuring out Windows 8. IT guy at work is helping. He says Microsoft is about to release a new upgrade that will make it more user-friendly like Windows 7. I'm doing okay. Still trying to figure it all out. Still working with Mayware Bytes and Windows Office to transfer those PAID FOR programs onto this new laptop. I'm with you, Wog. Setting up a new computer and getting the kinks worked out is no fun. Hopefully a new computer will inspire our Dear Froggy to post a little more. You are still in our prayers every day, Froggy!

Having another big company-wide get-together this Friday. Will tell you more about it later. It will be fun, but a ton of work for yours truly.

  5. Hi Ponders, I was pretty much out of commission yesterday with my port installation. Originally scheduled for 12:30, but doc's office called at 8 and said she'd like to do it earlier. So I had my shower and hubs drove me down there. We were there by 9:30 but with registration, paperwork, blood tests, trying to find a vein to put the IV in (they had to call in reinforcements) it was just after 11 when we got to surgery. 45 minutes in surgery, an hour in recovery, a quick xray to make sure there was no problem with the port, then 2-1/2 hours of waiting for the X-rays to surface, we finally got home around 4. I swear I had more pain with this stupid port than the mastectomy, but it's probably just that I had morphine the first 12 hours with that. And it's not like I don't still have pain.
We are on our way in a little bit to get my heart scan. They do this to get a baseline reading as the chemo protocol has a possible side effect of heart damage. Rare, they say, but they test for it anyway. Lord knows, if I survive the cancer, whether I will survive the side effects. I still don't know exactly what it is they're going to shoot me up with.
Surfie, with all the rain this weekend, our garden has exploded. Tomatoes are chest-high. Come see me soon.
    Love to all

    1. Hi Mags. What a bummer day you had ! Pain nausea discomfort just comes with the territory.
Just remember that God has a plan for your life. Our love to you.

    2. Hope it's okay if I call you Mags too. You have a very special Hubs that takes such good care of you. Someone who is always there by your side. I really had no idea about all the procedures and pain you had to endure. I'm with Phooey on this, "God has a plan for you."

Love from Sis and I...All us Ponders will be here for you anytime you want to drop by.

    3. Good grief, Mags, what you have to deal with! I don't want to forget your husband in all of this. He's going through hell as well, I'm sure. Prayers, prayers and more prayers!

  6. Lord Love a Duck (saying from Granny Beulah). Mags, you continue to amaze. Hang in there. I know you will! I thought I was watering my little garden well but it, too, exploded over the weekend with all the rain. Gardens are so much fun.

We're having another company get-together Friday after work. Going together to the Redhawks baseball game. We bought a package deal so we could all sit together, and it includes a picnic dinner. Getting 39 employees to commit to how may tickets they wanted was like herding cats or pushing a rope. Pulling one of these events together is much like going to the gym. Dread starting it, lots of work doing it, feel so fantastic once the experience is achieved. We will have a great time together. Never ceases to amaze me how the company paying for an event where employees can bring their spouses and kids so brings us together as we strive to be THE BEST at what we do. And we are seriously the best.

    I love my job!

    1. Surfie,
It's always wonderful to hear that there are great jobs out there! And you are blessed to have one of them. A loving angel is looking out for you.

    2. Agreed! Every time you post a work story, I love it. Even if it's about difficulties. You really got lucky and it's a joy to read about it :)

  7. Hi Phooey, We are here for you too. We always pray for you and Miss Page.

I have a job interview next week for admin/bookkeeper. I just need to email them back and let them know what day. Scared...

Froggy got a new HP computer in the mail today. I picked it out but they didn't have any left at the store. It was so much easier to have it delivered. It was in the apartment office when I came home today. I'm the lucky one who gets to unplug the old computer and plug in the new computer. It won't be that hard as everything is color-coded these days. I still have to install Comcast on it. They have free virus protection. (Our building is wired for Comcast -TV, computer, phone.) Then Froggy has to have her AOL.

Surfie, We won't be planting anything in the apartment garden this year. Was a lot of work last year...watering and weeding. Though we did grow some beautiful, fat little sweet pea flowers.

    1. Well, 'Wog, if we don't hear from you for awhile, we'll know why.

I'm glad you got the thing delivered. At least that part was easy ;-) Good luck setting it all up.

Good luck with the job interview, too. Don't be nervous. You know you can do this. If they don't hire you, then there's a reason it wouldn't be a good fit. That's all. Nothing to do with your abilities. You'll find your "perfect" fit. I just know it.

  8. Today appears to be a gray, windy, drizzly day. Bambu woke me up at 5am. When the wind howls, he gets extra restless. At least that's what I tell myself. Of course, as soon as I got out of bed to feed him and as soon as he had some food, he got right back into bed with Joe. The two of them are snuggled up under the covers and I'm here in the kitchen, looking over the top of my computer at the rain hitting the window. I can never go back to sleep once I have to get up. I'm sure it's all a plot by Bambu to take my spot in the bed.

    1. Good Morning Eva,
Bambu runs your family. That's what cats are supposed to do. I loved having a kitty snuggle up in bed. So sweet. Don't know why I'm up. Froggy needed something. Got her back to bed, then thought I'd read some news. Thank you for the encouragement on the interview. The old way to interview was easier. Not they ask stupid questions like "what's your ideal company," or "why should we hire you," or "what are your weaknesses."

    2. Before my surgery, we replaced our den furniture so I would have a recliner to sleep in where I wasn't isolated from hubs off in a corner of another room. We really needed new furniture, it was literally shredded - not by the cat, by the dog! So my cousin bought a new bed for the big dog for in here (little Rose gets to get on the furniture because she doesn't shed. Unfortunately big dog isn't man enough to kick the cat off of his bed which she has commandeered. Little cat, great big bed. Go figure.

  9. Don't be scared, WOG. Just be yourself. Be honest. God will bring you and the right job together, just like He did for me. Keep asking Him for that, and He will deliver. Remember, I thought going to the interview for my job would be a waste of everyone's time. I only went because I promised Him I'd accept any interview offered. You know how that turned out!

I'm laughing about Mags and her dogs. Nacho is a big/burly pitbull mix. Rose is the little one. They are both the sweetest things. Truth be told, I have a crush on Nacho. Talk about a Romeo! I've some funny You-Tube videos of cats evicting big dogs out of their beds and am imagining little Rose shooing Nacho out of his. Great laughs!

Good luck hooking up the new computer! I'm still tweaking the settings on mine. And I'm becoming friends with Windows 8!

    4. Of course, we all have a crush on you, Phooey. There has to be some compensation for being the only male in the Pond! It may as well be a pack of women throwing themselves at your feet :)

    3. Yes! Eva! Prayers do work! Also, a special blood test was drawn to test if my cancer had become immune to my medication (Gleevec). They couldn't find any cells to even test !
My oncologist said: "You are the poster boy for Gleevec!" She has no idea why my cancer cells spiked then rapidly dropped. I do ! and so do all the 'Pond People'.

I love you gals ! soooo much !!!

    4. Please forgive if this winds up being a double post. Still figuring out the new computer.

HAPPY DANCE for Phooey! Our God is an awesome God. My thinking which leads into prayer is this: You made our bodies. You know how to restore them to health. Whether it be "sudden remission" that no doc can explain, or by medical procedures that You taught us ... it all comes from YOU, dear Lord. Praise The Lord.

Mags, you are up! Whether by a sudden healing that befuddles the medical community or by that community getting you through this via the medical world ... I believe you will be with us for a very long and wonderful time. We stand with you like we did with Phooey. You are both blessings to all of us here.

Froggy, we all still stand for you. You are in our prayers every single day. Whether by a miracle or medical means, we stand that your beautiful self will be restored. We love you, dear Froggy!

OK, now about me. It rained hard last night and I woke up to a flood in my apartment. Had to unplug all things electrical, take everything out of my office and master bedroom closet and linen closet. I'm happy that I'm a renter right now. It's a hot mess in here. Will probably take a week for everything to dry out enough for the repairs to be done, which will be another hot mess. I am verrrrry happy that I have connection capability on the dry side of my apartment so I can still have power/cable/wifi/kitchen. I'm sleeping on the couch tonight.

Life is what happens when you're making other plans.

    6. Surfie, please tell me you don't have soaked carpet.

    7. Phoo, I have soaked carpet and walls and ceiling. I took 1/2 day off work today to deal with this. Me, the seasoned citizen vs. 29-year-olds telling me a good fan and splash of Kilz will fix my problems. Guess who is going to prevail here?

Being gray-haired is often a good thing!

  13. Hi Ya'll
So many posts. They got way ahead of me.

Surfie, if you don't have a fan, you can take a piece of cardboard and wave it really fast.. Seriously, that must have been a shock to wake up to. Froggy and I had a double-wide trailer (used) in San Diego. Every time it would pour, we would line up plastic tubs under the seam of the two trailer parts. to catch the leaks. We never could get it fixed...no matter what we did to seal it.

Phooey, we all love your posts. You always put a smile on our faces and in our hearts. Thanks for letting us know about EC. Hope to see her back soon.

I set up Sis' new computer, but she doesn't like it very well. Has APPS on it just like a smart phone. It has Windows 8. And she can't get on Lucianne. She can open the site, and then her computer locks up. Very strange.
