Don't you just love all the special foods that come with this holiday? We are having a somewhat trimmed down meal...and snack plate. I just can't cook this year. I bought a tiny canned ham, and will fix Turkey Stove Top. Also have can of green beans, cranberry sauce, canned yams, olives. Will be a fine day!
WOG, sounds like a good meal! I'm going to my sister's house, and only have to bring cranberries and sweet potato casserole. It will be a small group this year (about 10 people and sweet Miss Savannah who is 18 months).
I have so much to be thankful for to God, from whom all blessings flow. We all do, really. When I get home tomorrow, I'm going to meditate about the blessings I've been given.
Friday morning, I'm dragging out my Christmas decorations!
Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Our family get-together this year was the best I can ever remember. My niece Rachel has, we think, found the man of her dreams. He is wonderful, and fits right in with us. Of course, baby Savannah was her social butterfly adorable self.
There were 12 of us. We sat around my sister's giant dining room table and played card games after dinner. There were times we laughed so hard I thought we would cause an earthquake!
One of the greatest gifts yesterday was Audrey. She is my sister's MIL, and is 98 years old. She still gets up every day, puts on her best clothes, puts on her makeup and jewelry ... even if she is just sitting around by herself! Audrey is such a treasure. Hope I make it to 98 and still have as much spunk as she does.
My niece Katie's husband David has been on the road, driving all over the country, getting his CDL license. He got back in town on Thanksgiving. Yesterday was his 40th birthday, so the whole family took over his favorite German restaurant last night for a birthday dinner.
I love my family!
Intended to get my Christmas stuff out yesterday. That didn't happen, so I'm doing it today. I am either having a major allergy attack or have a monster head cold, so I won't be going 100 mph.
