Isn't it great that Scott Walker won? I went to the Democrat Underground blog--DU--and they are gnashing their teeth so hard they couldn't eat pea soup! I've never seen the word f*** so many times! LOL!
How are you? This frog had her doc refill my back pills and I overslept!
This is a great outcome! Walker and his Lt Gov withstood the challenge. Now I am wondering about the 4 legislators who were also recalled. If just 1 looses it will tip the balance in their state legislature to the dems. The dems are so hatefull I just hope they don't force a recount on them 'cause they will have to pay for it themselves.
Froggy, if you were able to get some extra sleep that is a good thing.
I was set straight on that. One guy did loose. The majority in the state house is now dems. They are in recess and when they come back it will be nearing the Nov elections.
BTW how can they have 119% voter turn out?????? (That is in Madison.) I smell a rat!
WOW! There is so much news every day! I can't keep up. Thanks to everyone here for posting updates. And Sis fills me in when I get home.
I didn't see anything on the front of the Seattle Times newspaper about Mitt Romney being in Seattle. And I didn't hear anything on the TV news. No surprise...
Here's my news. There will be a funeral Thursday for the lady shot by our home, Gloria Leonidas. I think the Westboro Baptist Church will be there to protest something.
(copied from Internet today) Westboro Baptist Church will be "protesting" in Seattle next weekend (June 13th-15th). They seem to going after Seattle Jews more than gays, but Catholics and Methodists will be getting a dose, too. Here's the itinerary from the WBC site:
06/13/2009 Stroum JCC of Greater Seattle 06/14/2009 Congregation Beth Shalom 06/14/2009 Mt. Zion Baptist Church 06/14/2009 James Catholic Cathedral 06/14/2009 Seattle Pacific University 06/15/2009 Garfield High School 06/15/2009 ADL-B'Nai
How did Seattle get to be so popular? Froggy, St James is the Cathedral two blocks from our home. Gosh, we are in the middle of everything!
You girls be careful when those animals are in town. Glad you got your prescription refilled, Froggy!
We've had thunderstorms all day. I actually like thunderstorms when tornadoes aren't involved.
Speaking of thunder, my OKC Thunder plays San Antonio Spurs in a VERY important basketball game tonight. I have some homemade chicken noodle soup and cornbread to nosh on. But I also had to bring some work home with me. I'll be multi-tasking! AND, reveling in the glorious news from Wisconsin!
Okay, I am going to make a little confession here. Both husband and I have been union workers. We didn't have a choice. I was so thankful to have my job. It didn't take long to figure some things out.
Dad was a Teamster-AFL-CIO-all his life. He didn't have a choice either. I remember when he had to go picket--he hated it, but.... that was the deal. I asked him why didn't he just go to work anyway instead and let those picket who wanted to--and I quickly found out the definition of SCAB.
Mother worked for the Bureau of Fish and Widelife for the Federal gov. for years, Bureau of Mines etc.
People gotta work, Gloria. My Dad had only a 10th grade education and Mom eventually only an A.A. degree. We lived a normal middle class lifestyle in a good neighborhood. 'Woggy lived with Grandma in Saskatchewan many years of her life due to our age difference. I lived with the other one in Muncie IN summers because my mom was so abusive and um... unstable. Had our parent not had union/government jobs, that wouldn't have been possible. You sure aren't the only one. Life was different then--that was 40-50 years ago. Things are different now. Unions just keep ramping it up and ramping it up. This is no version of Norma Rae anymore. Don't feel bad hon--sometimes we can only learn things by being immersed in them. You learned some valuable things about unions that the rest of us may not know. You can use it to help our side.;-)

Thank you Gloria--you are so thoughtful and kind ;-)
DeleteI think one guy did lose, so the Senate is tipped to the Dem side.

Some really ugly things are being said.

Filthy unholy bastards come in with many labels.
DeleteI agree, Phoobers--I hope Fred Phelps rots in hell for protesting military funerals etc. What a sick bastard...

Hope everybody has a great rest of the day.
I wish we heard thunder etc. We only do about once or twice a year. The rest of the time, it's just drizzle or downpours.

ReplyDeleteHas anyone else been a union worker?
Gloria, what you said is just the thing ... YOU DIDN'T HAVE A CHOICE.
DeleteWisconsin public workers now HAVE A CHOICE.
I think unions have outlived their usefulness. There is a lot of politics and thuggery. I saw things and noticed things that didn't seem right.
