  1. Hi Phooey, today is for you. And for all members of our families who have served to keep us safe and free. Not an easy task.

All that is on TV the last couple days is the plane crash. So sad. I am afraid to fly. Don't know why terrorist haven't targeted a cruise ship.

Words to Trump: "Just keep Trumping." Not sure what he's doing, but he keeps getting votes.

  2. I thank you, too, Phooey. Brave people like you gave us this country, and have protected us since the beginning. Thank you!

Eva, it was wonderful to read your post. The croup is very scary. My boy had it once, when he was about 8 months old. Thankfully, his pediatrician answered my phone call, was very calm and told me what to do. Agree with Wog that Tallulah is such a wonderful name! I have a one year old great niece named Savannah.

Every day this coming week, from tomorrow until Memorial Day, there will be threats of severe thunderstorms, high winds, damaging hail, and tornados. I'm on my way to stock up on food & water, just checked all my flashlights & batteries. My cheap little battery-operated radio stopped working, so I'm getting a good one today. I'll be OK but it will probably be a little scary this week.

Eva, I much prefer tornado weather than earthquakes. At least we know when we are in danger from storms. Earthquakes just come out of nowhere. Living in earthquake country for so long has prepared me for being in tornado alley.

I will be OK. Just hope the power doesn't get knocked out.

Love you, Deers. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.

    Go TRUMP!!!!

    1. Tornado, earthquake both scare me, we get hurricanes, plenty of warnings. Still having problems without the right eye fixed for close work. It is put on hold until DH gets through with all his stuff. A simple check up lead to 8 doctor and hospital visits in 16 days, with weekends off. ultra sounds and doppler something, more blood work, bottom line, both arteries in his neck need roto-routering. Ist surgery is May 27th and then they will ream the other one June 28. I have not been driving but since the distance eye is fixed I will drive home, it is just on the other side of the lake and after 16 yrs my pickup will drive me, would not attempt it with the new Escape, can't see the gauges. My legs are better, I switched from just magnesium oxide to magnesium complex, oxide with citrate and aspartate. Attercliffe from Luci trained me well for stocking up for emergencies so we are good. I have 2 55 gal drums of water and the coat closet fitted with shelves for the 25 yr freeze dried food. Last time we were not prepared and now gas, charcoal, solar ovens besides the generator. 12 yrs of little by little acquisitions besides storm shutters. Surfie, I have a crank radio I bought from Emergency Essentials, I should own shares there already.
Stay away from Wayfair.com. I placed and order for 3 items. received the hamper, two man assembly, OK fine, the drapes had stitching missing, received a credit, the Bed in a Bag 4 piece they said shipped on May 5, on the 13 asked were it was, Oh, it didn't leave the warehouse, then I get an email, it was discontinued! Still waiting for the over $100.00 credit. Ordered a nicer one from Amazon, less money and was here in 3 days. I know the owner of Amazon is a anti-trump moron, but his staff is great. I get all DH Dickie shirts and work pants from them cheaper than the local Army Navy store. Well, I hate to cook, so DH has been home a month and can't go back to work until after the second surgery, so I am eating well, he loves to cook. I just stay out of the way.

    3. Surfie...I agree about the tornados. At least you have some warning. We live in earthquake country. I keep several bottles of water in the kitchen. and try to keep at least one big bottle of water in bedroom closet. Up in this part of the country we could also get volcanos! If that happens, Froggy and I might have to move. Froggy has asthma. A lot of smoke and ash would be bad.

      Go Trump!

    4. EC, thank you for dropping by and giving us an update. Ponders worry when we don't hear from each other. I wrote your surgery dates on calendar so we can cheer you on. You must be so scared about eye surgery.

You reminded me about the crank radio. We used to have one. Don't know what happened to it. Might have gotten "lost" when we moved.

I didn't know about Amazon being against Trump. It's hard not to buy stuff from Amazon.

We'll be praying for your success. Drop by when you can.

  3. Hi Ponders. I have been reading your posts for a while but once again I am so overwhelmed by what is going on I can hardly say anything. Both in our country and in my life. I see what is going on with Froggy and Wog. I saw what our Phooey said a while back about not making politcal comments. I am never offended. I think about Paget every time there is some news about Hanford. Hope she comes back. I see that Eva is so busy with her family and don't I know how that is. I know about Ec's eye surgery and the incident with her being alone on the floor for days by herself. Surfie has so many things going on in her life and at work but still manages to be positive and uplifting. Go Trump!

Now I want to share something that is going on in my life. Concerning our adult son who lives in our home. About six weeks ago he went into an inpatient treatment center for addiction and alcohol. I made up my mind to stand with him and commit to attend lectures and meetings for families. He is doing well and is back to work and attending meetings and doing the 12 step plan. I am worn out. These past years have taken a toll on me.

I am asking for prayers for him. As he stays clean and sober things are changing for him. Today was just not a good day as he is dealing with trying to repair his car for work this week. I believe Our Father in Heaven has a plan for his life and it includes sobriety. Just want you all to know that I am still here, just that I am emotionally empty. Love you all.

    1. Oh My, Gloria...so sorry to hear about the stress in your life. Sometimes you just need to take an hour here and there and just do something that "heals your mind and heart." That was easy when we lived by the ocean. The wind and sound of waves and seagulls and sunsets. Beautiful feelings just talking about it.

We Ponders will pray for you and your family. We will pray for healing and for calm. We love you and your family. I think I need to add one more comment for today.

    2. Dear, dear Gloria, so many prayers going out to you and your son. Stay strong. I know it's draining. It will be better.

  4. Deer Ones, Seems like the whole world is upside down. Take time, each of our Pond Family, and do something that makes you happy. Work in the garden. Shop at thrift store. Cook something special that you love to eat. Listen to your favorite music. Music is always healing.

I get up scared some days. And then the sun comes out and everything looks "sane" again. I go see Froggy every day after work so that she doesn't feel alone. It's quite a bus ride to Federal Way, but it's worth it to make my sweet sister happy. She won't be there forever. Just need to get her up and walking again. She needs to take a few steps every day.

  5. P.S. Froggy has nothing broken. She's just out of practice, and I couldn't help her at home.

EC, thanks for the tips and so sorry the eye has to be put on hold. Everything comes down to priorities and you're a wonderful wife. Prayers for your DH and his surgeries.
    Hang in there, Froggy!
