Trump has been amazing this week! I know I shouldn't care, but I still get annoyed when the mainstream press won't give him his due. I know they're biased and in the tank for Hillary, but aren't there any journalists out there? I'm talking mainstream only here.
I am beyond infuriated about the lack of criticism Obama is getting about not going to Louisiana. It's almost a mirror reflection of what happened during Katrina to Bush. I can't take it.
Surfie listed the pundits and radio talkers who have disappointed her with regard to Trump and I go along with each and every one she listed. Jonah Goldberg has been the worst lately. They all have no problem with a Hillary presidency and I can't understand it, so I can only conclude that they weren't really conservatives in the first place.
Not sure what's going on with the Goldbergs these days. Lucianne used to speak her mind about politics. I listen to Hugh Hewitt on the radio in the night. And this evening Froggy and I listened to Judge Jeanine on TV.
Before politics, the important thing: GLORIA! So happy to read about your son! I know how hard it is from seeing my nephew struggle for decades. Rick is clean and sober 4 years now, a drug rehab counselor, a great husband and father. My nephew can relate to those he counsels because he was once in that boat. Steve is in my prayers for a wonderful future just like my nephew is living. Go Steve!
Now for politics. All you have to do to understand why people like Jonah Goldberg are so anti-Trump is to look into who pays them. They are owned by who writes their paycheck every bit as much as professional politicians like Hillary are owned by their big money donors. Hillary preserves the status quo. DJT will upend their apple cart.
Our man Donald J. Trump became President last week. I'm nearly 62 and can't recall a single politician boldly stating what is wrong with the inner cities, boldly stating how he will give the black community a real hand-up instead of hand-out, and outright asking for their vote. Do any Ponders recall a politician doing this?
Obama and Hillary weren't the only no-shows in Louisiana. Where was Black Lives Matter? Think about that for a while, Deers.
Politics off!
The weather here has made a definite shift towards Fall. We've gone from 100 degrees to 80-something, down to the 60s at night, scattered little showers throughout the week. We will still have a hot day here or there, but the big-bad summer heat dome is a gonner! Hallelujah!
I think the great tomatoes and summer veggies are winding down, so I'm making a trip to the farmer's market today. Hope to buy a case of tomatoes that sell for cheap because they are bruised, then making another huge pot of marinara sauce to freeze. I'm going to love that great sauce this winter when it's snowing.
Love you Deers, and so love The Pond. Thank you, Froggy and Wog!
Hi Surfie and Gloria...anyone who has stopped drugs and alcohol has my respect. Not an easy task. I used to drink some rum every day. Not sure how I stopped. Now I can have a beer sometimes and not get the craving. Most people aren't able to do this.
Hey Ponders. Surfie, thanks so much for your comments about Steve. I have been thinking about Phooey too. I want him to come back. Phooey, if you see this your friends miss you.
Great week for Trump. He showed up in Louisiana and they loved it. The Police love him. When he says we will turn this country into a law abiding country again I know we are on the right track. The guy running for governor in our state is Bill Bryant. He announced this week that he won't be voting for Trump. What a lousy jerk!!!!! He wants the GOP to get behind him but he cannot get behind our candidate. Oh please call me on the phone! This is one political call I will answer.
This week I did something very foolish. While shaving my legs I nicked a vein and couldn't stop the spurting blood. Scott went and bought Wound Seal. Even that didn't work so off to the clinic. Doc said I did everything right but elevate. Now tell me how to do that without getting blood all over the world? Sheesh did I feel foolish. This is a clown house!
I've nicked myself so many times lately and run around like a ninny trying to make the bleeding stop. Big bandaids and hydrogen peroxide are my new friends. Good thing is that, at 62, my blood is bright red (oxygen healthy). I'm a clown show all by myself!
Oh gosh, Gloria, so glad it wasn't serious! I freak out when I see my blood spurting out (plus it hurts).
It's hard for me to imagine African-Americans not giving Trump a chance after his latest speeches. I think they have been incredible. As he said, what do they have to lose?
Maybe Trump has finally figured out how to get the votes. Going to Louisiana was a big plus! Especially when no one else could be bothered.
Froggy and I watched the Olympics every day. Mostly swimming, bike racing, diving. Just the fun stuff. Been hot in Seattle...that is, hot for us. Been between 85 and 90 and cools off at night.
Phooey, EC, Paget...we need our Friends at the Pond. Hope you haven't melted. Put a bag of ice in front of your fan and type us a message.

Has anyone heard from Phooey?

It has been very hot here. 98 yesterday.

Has anyone seen this video? Froggy played it for me when I got home today. Loved it!
ReplyDeleteHere's the link on You Tube.

"Track and field athlete Sam Kendricks is running towards an attempt at the pole vault in the qualifying round, until he hears the national anthem."
All we can think about today is that we are HOT. Same tomorrow (Friday). Poor little, melted Frogs!
ReplyDeleteFroggy and I are waiting for football tonight. Go Seahawks!
One more really hot day and then it should cool off. I used to love the hot summers. Now I just hibernate and refuse to cook.
DeleteGo Hawks! I know it was only a pre season game but I hope we are starting a great season.
Hi Gloria...This week went so fast. It did, indeed, cool off. It's delicious, delightful, wonderfully cool in this part of the country.
DeleteFroggy and I have been watching both our Seahawks and our Denver Broncos. So many new players and quarterbacks. Go 'Hawks!
