  1. Howdy Pond Family...Good time to take a break from politics. Just too much drama lately. Froggy keeps reminding me that the Hill has all the super delegates in her pocket and that's what counts.

So this weekend we have Bumbershoot in Seattle. Or we can shop for antiques with Surfie in Oklahoma. Or we can take a road trip with Eva and Joe. Or do what Froggy and I are doing...watching TV movies, napping and eating coconut cream pie.

  2. I have lived in this old house for a year, and have not been able to find the right coffee table until yesterday. Walked over to my favorite antique consignment shop, went into the upstairs in the back building, plowed through enormous amounts of goodies, and found my coffee table! It is a Swedish blanket chest. Based on construction, looks like it was made in the late 1800's. Needs a little TLC, but is PERFECT! One of the guys I work with is going to pick it up after work Tuesday and bring it to my house. Color me happy!

The street fair yesterday was so much fun. Food trucks, live bands, all of the restaurants and shops open. I just walked over and had a great time. The live band music didn't stop until 10:00 P.M., which was OK with me because I sat on my bed, surfing the internet, while listening to great music. It was a really good, fun day.

I'm on my way to sister's house for the last pool party of summer. Her daughter, my dear niece Rachel, is bringing her boyfriend over. I think they are serious because Rachel NEVER brings a man she is dating to a family event. And I get to see my adorable great-niece Savannah! She is 16 months old and such a joy.

Today, I'm swimming, cooking with my sister, meeting the new boyfriend, playing with a baby. It will be a wonderful day.

The icing on the cake is that I have tomorrow off work!

I hope and pray all Deers have a wonderful weekend. Still praying for and hoping to hear from Phooey. Surfie Smooches to all!

    1. Good Morning Surfie and Pond Family, just want you to know that I have been busy this week. I have some posts to add when I come home today. Froggy is always reading something interesting to add to The Pond. Enjoy your weekend.
      Love to all

  3. Good morning all :)

I'm hoping that the rumors I'm hearing about the Seahawks refusing to stand for the national anthem as a team, are false. Is there talk in the local papers?

    1. Hi Eva. This situation with the Seahawks has been on my mind all week. If they do it will be a huge insult and disrespect on the anniversary of 9 11. Last week a player from another team lost his endorsement with in 24 hours of the game. Russell Wilson said he will not kneel. I will wait to see how the fans react.

The flag from the Twin Towers was finally returned to New York from Everett, WA. in time for the 9 11 ceremonies. It will be interesting to find out how it got here in the first place. It has been determined it is THE flag.

  4. Froggy and Wog, have you heard from Phooey?

Eva, I'm reading that the Seahawks and Broncos are both going to refuse to stand. Refusing to stand on 9/11 is outrageous. The culture in this country is in serious trouble.

Good news is that Hillary and her campaign are also in serious trouble. I believe that she is going to lose in a landslide, and we will finally have a chance to begin restoring the culture of this beautiful country. Personally, I feel bad for her because of her obvious health issues. Nuff said.

Fall has finally come to OKC! The jet stream made it's 1st dip south last night, bringing huge thunderstorms and much cooler temps. I miss the SoCal beach weather sometimes, but love living in a place with 4 distinct seasons.

I'm spending pretty much all of today restoring the antique chest I bought last weekend. All it will take is some rubber gloves, very fine steel wool, wood wax, and a lot of elbow grease! Both of my arms will probably be very sore tomorrow.

You know what? I love the Pond, and all Deer Ponders. Thank you, Froggy and Wog. You two, the Pond, and all Deers are in my prayers every day.

    1. Howdy Deer Surfie, I asked Froggy about Sir Phooey. She has heard nothing. We pray that he is okay. EC wrote in after the Florida hurricane, so she is okay. But nothing from Phooey...

Must be fun to redo antique chest. Sis and I don't have room to do any fun projects in an apartment. I miss having a backyard and garage and tools for building and fixing and painting things. We do have a garden area in the center of the building. I go down and pull weeds just to spend some time outside.

Yep, the weather seemed to change overnight. Around Seattle the nights are cool and the days are sunny an around 70. Very nice.

I feel bad about the football players not honoring our flag, and thereby thumbing their noses at our country. Very sad.

So today we are watching TV...50-year-anniversary of the old Star Treks. Froggy remembers most of them.
