Friday..Happy, Happy Friday

You're late for work!
You can't go anywhere til I get breakfast.

  1. Can't get a start on the day. Just glad that it's Friday. I'm going downtown on bus, and Froggy went back to bed. Wolfie is curled up in the middle of livingroom floor...omething that cats do best. I'll have to step over him, or sometimes that's called "trip over him."

  2. So last night (or early this morning rather-3am), one of our smoke alarms went off briefly. It just beeped a couple of times, but it was enough to wake everyone up. Bambu was emitting a pitiful little meow that sounded hoarse. Joe got him and brought him to our bed and held him. I went around with the flashlight looking for Puffin. I finally found him in a closet, but he wasn't gonna come out for anything. Sigh.

This townhouse has cathedral ceilings. It's considered very modern. I consider it a pain in the ass! The place came equipped with 5 smoke alarms and they all are 15-20 feet off the ground! I have to call the handyman to come over with his tall ladder to replace the batteries. I should have done it a couple of months ago, but as usual, I pushed it off because I was busy. Serves me right.

On the upside, I'm hoping to photograph the Shuttle Endeavour as it flies overhead. I'm supposed to be in the flight path, so I figure I'll dash outside with my little camera when it's supposed to get here (I'll keep the radio on for updates) and point it up. They say it'll be flying very low, so maybe I can get a shot.

I hope it doesn't make too much noise, though. That's just what the cats DON'T need.

How's everybody else this fine Friday?

  4. Hi Phooey...always a great day when you show up at The Pond.

Eva, We know only too well about the smoke alarm and cats. There is no way to get away from it. I always feel so bad for the kitties. At least, it was a false alarm. Though the intermittent beep is annoying. Let us know about the Endeavor. Exciting when they fly directly over. We don't get anything like that in Seattle. Our only excitement is rain!

  5. Hi, folks! (Phoo, 'Wog really likes you.... ;-) I love you, too!

She just left to go a few blocks to check on some things. She likes to tool around and she's anxious since today is her last day off. Tues she goes back to school, and Mon. we'll be all day at several doctor appts.

Eva, is Bambu getting better? I know what you mean about smoke alarms; our building put in industrial strength ones that hurt MY ears. You can bet the cat/cats alwys disappeared entirely when it went/goes off. Ours are very sensitive, too. There's no burning a little dinner, or getting egg on a burner but what the tremendous racket goes off. We have to open the windows and and like crazy when I cook pork chops--the steam from frying makes it react if we don't. What a bother!

I hope everyone is fine--Paget, how are you doing? Kerry? Don't disappear on us!

  6. Well, I saw the shuttle, but my picture taking skills pretty much stink. People were out on our street and some were on the roofs. As soon as it was spotted, someone yelled and I turned my camera up and started clicking away madly. The end result was that I transferred to the computer lots of pictures of a nice blue sky and one picture with a fuzzy 747 with a bump on its back. Sigh.
