  2. Phooey, you and I have the same disorder: I love being alone doing laundry, cleaning up. Nesting!

Dear Froggy, how are you doing? I pray you have the strength and lack of pain to tell us how we are. You are much loved, cyber-sister.

I have a prayer request. Karen and I have been best friends since childhood. When I moved back to OKC, I realized her health was very bad. She's been covering up, pretending, making excuses. Tonight at dinner she told me that she's had a spot on her chest that has been growing and looking ugly for a very long time. It's cancer. She finds out on Wednesday what kind of cancer and how bad it is. She has also been losing vision in her left eye. Her eye doctor told her she is losing sight in that eye and sent her to a specialist which she will see next week. (She said she couldn't remember what the eye doctor told her the condition is.) She has high blood pressure and says she is taking medication for it. When we got up from the dinner table, she got dizzy and had to sit down. Happened 2 more times before we got to the car.

In all the decades since I've known her, she has never acted like this where her health is concerned. She's worked in the medical field all her life! I don't know what is happening to her and why she is acting like this now. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE pray for my friend Karen. She is, in my heart, my sister.

ALSO, Karen's 28 year old daughter Lauren was diagnosed with pre-cancerous cells on her cervix (found on her routine pap-smear). Given my relationship with her mother and loving her since before she was born, Lauren is like the daughter I never had.

PLEASE pray for Karen and Lauren. Please.

  3. Phooey and Surfie... Nice to hear from both of you. I'm writing for Froggy. I went with her to wound-care center. They said that her foot is healing nicely. BUT...they bandaged her foot and leg up to the knee. She is so uncomfortable in this heat. She has been laying down, and trying to keep her foot elevated.

I'm the one who does the laundry. I, too, love to go by myself. I take a sandwich, crossword puzzle, sudoku, soda, and wheel a cart full of clothes to the laundry room. I never leave our clothes unattended.

Surfie, I am so sorry to hear about your friends. Of course, we will send prayers. Your friend, Karen, and her daughter, Lauren, need some good news. Please, let us know what we can do to help.

5 "Hidden" Obamacare Taxes That Will Crush The Middle Class"

Get ready to be blindsided by a barrage of new taxes. $569 billion worth...
They'll be coming courtesy of the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare. And they won't just be affecting those who make over $250,000 as you'll soon see. The bulk of these taxes will be passed on directly to the middle class.

That's because while a majority of these "stealth taxes" were designed to be taxes on businesses, they're actually be transferred directly to ordinary citizens. They include an investment income surtax, a medicate payroll tax, even a "tanning tax" on those who utilize indoor tanning services.

"Many of those [hidden] taxes, especially those on hospitals, insurers and medical device manufacturers, will ultimately be passed on through higher health costs," said Michael Tanner an expert on the healthcare law.

Editor's note: How much extra will you have to pay? See the complete list of new Obamacare taxes here.

Of course, the Obamacare plan was primarily designed to decrease the number of uninsured Americans and reduce healthcare costs. Many experts are saying it will have the opposite exact opposite effect.

"Progressive Insurance on defense after court case"

McLEAN, Va. (AP) — The Progressive Corp. insurance group is defending itself against an onslaught of negative publicity after it tried to avoid paying $75,000 to the family of a client killed in a car crash and sought to blame the wreck on her.

The criticism began Monday with a blog post from 33-year-old Matt Fisher of Brooklyn, whose sister Kaitlynn Fisher had Progressive insurance and was killed in a June 2010 car crash in Baltimore. In order to avoid the payout to Kaitlynn Fisher's family, Progressive interjected itself into a lawsuit the Fisher family filed against the other driver.

Last week, a jury found the other driver negligent, despite Progressive's efforts to persuade the jury otherwise.

WOG Comment: If you watch TV, you see the ads for Progressive Insurance all the time. It's the ads with Flo, the spokesperson. I'm sure that this insurance company has made millions from their ads. But, alas, greed has bit them in the pocket-book.
