Happy Monday, Pond Friends!

  1. Where is everyone? Doing stuff with family is my guess. How are you, Froggy and WOG?

Hope Phooey is having a good time with his family, but he's missing the NCIS marathon today!

I finally got fed-up with my hair and got what I call a "little boy special" cut yesterday. I used to wear my hair that way when I was younger, but tried and failed to have it a bit longer. Amazing how freeing my old friend "little boy special" cut is making me feel!

  2. Good Morning Surfie.. Froggy was up early and went back to bed. Phooey will be sorry to miss his NCIS! I had long hair past my shoulders for a while but living by the beach cured that. I, too, enjoy the ease of a short hair cut. Don't ya love it! You could have used the "little boy cut" during the hot weather.

  3. Good Morning everyone! I got back to L.A. last night. As I was leaving my dad and my niece's family, I felt as though my trip was very short. As soon as I saw my husband at LAX, I felt as though I had been gone forever! When we got home, I opened the door and called out to the cats, "Mommy's home!" I got a loud response from both (although Puffin stayed in his sun spot). I like my niece's dogs, but there's nothing like cuddling with my furballs.

Funny thing about the haircut conversation, I just went back to my old style. For years and years, I've been straightening my locks. I'd either wear it at my shoulders or as short as my chin, but my routine has always involved an hour of blow-drying followed by the straight iron. About 3 weeks ago, I just stopped. Now, I wash my hair, add some anti-frizz stuff and run a comb through it. My naturally curly hair does it's own thing now and I find I don't hate it as much as I used to. So far, I've gotten lots of compliments, a few from strangers in the grocery check-out line.

I'm going to read up on what I've missed while away now. I'll be back soon. Gotta do massive grocery shopping, bill paying and laundry. What did Joe do while I was gone? Just work and take care of the cats.

    1. Glad you're back. It's always fun to leave, and more fun to come home. I'm sure Joe was busy taking care of the furballs. They can be a lot of work some days...combing, petting, feeding, playing, finding...did I say feeding?

  4. Good morning to all Ponders. I was just getting ready to post something about Eva being back soon - she is back.

We will have a semi-quiet day today. Today is the last day of the Evergreen State Fair. Yea! We live just up the hill from the fairgrounds. Have to time errands for non peak traffic times. It will be back to normal tommorrow.

This week should be very interesting as far as dem propoganda and their convention goes. Happy Empty Chair Day!!!!

  5. Done reading. Gloria, my sincere wishes for your brother's recovery and prayers that any type of major surgery is far off. Surfie, my very fervent prayers for your best friend, Karen. That is SO scary and she's so young. G-d will surely hear all of us.

It was so enjoyable for me to watch the GOP convention with my father. He took a nap every day so he could stay up for all the speeches. I think it was a very well-run convention and I'm so proud of our people. We have such a deep bench of conservatives. I loved getting to know all of these women who are elected officials. They are truly people to look up to. War against women? Puh-leeze! Ann Romney was just stunning and I, too, cried as I listened to her talk about Moms.

I loved Paul Ryan's speech and listening to the "ordinary" people whose lives Mitt Romney touched. Talk about crying! His speech was perfect for the moment. He was passionate, calm, serious, kind, and determined. How can anyone deny he has a real chance to put this country back on the right track?

It took me awhile to understand Clint Eastwood's impact. My father loved it. He got it right away. I guess it may have something to do with the closeness of their ages. The more I watched the video, the more I understood and the more I liked it. The crowd in the hall obviously got it immediately. Besides, I always like something that drives the media crazy.

Now, I'm off to the grocery store.

  6. Hi Eva! How nice that you're back! I'm glad you got to see the convention. Isn't Ann Romney just wonderful? 'Woggy just snuck off to Target before I got up. No, I wasn't up early--I just went to bed very late. Sorry I can't type a lot; with my right hand not working well it's made tyyping a horror. I guess the 4" ulcer on my heel is healing--I don't know as my leg is wrapped tightly to the knee. We're all praying for Sufie's friends. I want to know how the guy is doing that hurt his hand. Kiss the boys for me.

    Miss Phooey.
