Oh, yes, Eva--someone called up here and tried to tell me our City Light check bounced and we were about to get cut off and to wire the money IMMEDIATELY somewhere--can you imagine? Sometimes, our bills run a bit late, but we've never dealt in bad checks and penalties and nonsense. I had 'Woggy check our account and everything was fine. I swear, the scammers just crawl out of the woodwork nowadays!
I realize it is a little late to check in but here I am. Froggy, I have tried to convince Scott to cancel our land line. We are continually being harassed with scammer calls. I guess it is a sign of the times.
You're right, Froggy. Scammers are coming out of the woodwork. When I moved here about a year ago, I never got a home phone. Also set up all new email addresses. Have not received a single scam phone call or spam email since. I also check all of my accounts (utilities, etc.) online so I know what is going on. Plus, I have powerful antimalware and run the free Spybot Search & Destroy once a week. Gotta be careful these days.
Those scammers are probably making money. I think there's so many of them now because of the lousy economy. Not everyone is as sharp as you are and they probably dupe plenty of people. Very sad.
