  1. Hi Sisters. Hot enough for ya?

Is this world getting crazy or what?

  2. Hi right back at ya, Gloria and Sisters! I tried to comment all weekend but nothing stuck. Blogger must have been having issues!

Yep, it is hot enough. We are having weird weather. It's coolish with a deluge of rain, then the sun comes out and it is so hot and muggy, then it cools off and rains hard again. All just during my time at work today.

I have news about Karen. Not good news. She went for pre-op physical for the brain tumor surgery. They discovered her heart was congestive and put her on meds to drain the fluids. Over the weekend, she started shutting her friends and all family except her children out. Her husband Brad and her sister Kathy both say she has given up. So far, she still takes her medicine and will go to nearly daily doc appointments, but just doesn't care anymore. She is overwhelmed and worn out. I don't know God's will for her life. My will is that she rallies and returns to being the woman of courage she has always been. I want to see that impish twinkle in her eye again. I want Karen back! Please pray, Deers.

Looking at another house tomorrow morning at 8:45. Nice little house in a very safe part of town. I'm getting a little discouraged because I've been looking for such a long time. Keep your fingers crossed!

    Love you, Deers.

  3. Gloria, we are so spoiled up here around Seattle. It has been so nice and cool. Even the warm days became cool nights. Now...Yes, we are melting, melting!

Seems the world is crazy. Unbelievable things happening. Too much to think about sometimes. Did anyone hear Jeb Bush's speech today? I loved it...especially the Spanish part. Let's see Hillary top that one!

  4. Good afternoon deer pond friends,

I have some good news to share. Last night at 9:30, my new grandson came into the world. His name is Jaxon Jeffrey, and he is a little guy; 6 lb. 3 oz. , and 19" long. He looks like his brother, but he has brown hair. We're excited and plan to meet him over the July 4th holiday. Thank you all for indulging me!

Love to all of you deers!

  5. Hi Deers. Don't really have anything interesting to say except that the rain has finally stopped. Now it is sunny and around 90. It feels like I'm living in a greenhouse. Most everyone around here goes to the lake for the weekend this time of year. They can't go because water is still draining downstream, the rivers and lakes keep rising. Not safe to go. Long-term, this is good because the drought here is officially over. Now that the Oklahoma summer heat is kicking in, water will start evaporating in a hurry, and everyone should be good to go for the July 4th weekend family trip to the lake.

Work-wise, Shelby is turning out to be a dream come true. She's 19 and this is her 1st job in a responsible business setting. I thought the process of teaching her would take a lot longer than it has. Pleasant surprise! She is smart as a whip, has common sense, was raised by salt-of-the-earth parents. I'm teaching Shelby both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, a little bit at a time. When she gets one step, I step her up. She gets it! Color me a happy woman at work.

    TGIF!

    1. Happy is good. Good luck on the house hunt. It can be terribly discouraging. Been there and sympathize.

I was so sorry to hear about Karen. Everyone has a point where they can't go on. Hopefully, she'll rally and become her old self. Praying for her and her family.

  6. I'm still in a funk over the Charleston shooting. My only consolation is my belief that if one is killed while praying, he goes straight to G-d. Otherwise, I can't handle the horrific nature of this. It's beyond my understanding. May their souls rest in peace.

    1. I think and hope and pray that great good will come from this evil. I've watched video of victims' family members in court, forgiving the man. Have you seen the video of the woman who saw him and helped police catch him? All stood up and spoke out about their faith, and those videos are going viral.

There will be no riots in Charleston. While I grieve and pray for family and friends who lost loved ones, I am encouraged that God-loving Americans are getting global news coverage. The majority of us here in the United States of America are good people.

Phooey can probably give us some scriptures to support my view: God is taking this evil and using it to display His goodness and light.

    2. Dear Eva, Ponders are praying with Charleston. Charleston, despite this hurtful crime, is showing such unity and compassion and closeness with God. I just don't know what else to say.
