Robins...a good sign!

  1. Yea! Robins are definitely a sign of spring. We also have hummingbirds and plenty o' weeds. We should have nice warm weather for a few days. I opened a window for fresh air and Miss Kitty sat on the sill for hours.

  2. Good Morning Pond Family...I saw several Robins around our building yesterday. In fact, there is one little, very noisy chirping bird in the tree outside our window. Why do they get up so early?

We are so tired of cold and rain and gloom. The last few
months have been stressful for all of us. Bad weather! Bad politics! Bad news! Time for some good feelings.

Speaking of politics...Froggy or I check the political scoreboard every morning to see the polls. Trump is amazing! He knows how to market a product (himself). Can't wait to see him go up against The Hill. Hope he can deliver his promises if he wins. America needs to feel safe, and America needs to regain its esteem and value in the world.

  3. Good Saturday morning Deers! Spring has sprung in OKC. The freezing storm that was going to kill the flowers went north of us. I have fresh-cut daffodils in my house! I'm sitting on my bed, looking out into the back yard. It is teeming with bluejays and robins, busy picking nest-building material off the ground. Love this time of year.

Wog, you asked about my company a few posts ago. We are hanging in by the skin of our teeth. In a weird way, this economic downturn will make us stronger going forward. With things so slow, we have time to fine-tune our processes, fix and organize things we just didn't have time for when the economy was robust. Our customer base is not just oil & gas. We have customers that support a broad range of other industries. The drop in oil & gas prices are now affecting our customers who are food processors, steel mills for the auto industry, paper mills. One of our big customers is a global company that produces things like manhole covers. We are seeing a slight uptick in business from many of our customers. Why? It looks like a businessman who loves this country is going to be our next president. That would be none other than Donald Trump.

Donald Trump WILL have the delegates needed to win the primary. We will see if the global elites try for a brokered convention. Truth be told, there is no difference between Democrat politicians and Republican politicians. They are the same, told what to do by their global big-money "donors."

Anyway ... Donald Trump held a rally last evening in OKC, and I was there. Went by myself because I wanted to see him in action by myself. I secured my seat, then walked around, watching his organizational team get everything in place. They were magnificent, classy, flawless. I want an alpha male such as The Donald in the White House.

I've talked too much again! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! TRUMP 2016!

  4. Right now it looks like Trump is it. If he doesnt make it at least it will be known that part of the anger Americans feel is at the media and the political elites that have been choosing for us because after all they know what is best for we the people.

Froggy, have you been enjoying your "grown up coloring books?" I was in our local craft store and noticed a huge area devoted to coloring supplies. Seriously that was the lady's job. Just demonstrating and selling supplies.

Headin' to farm country Tuesday to spend the week with the Grands.

There were some F5 tornadoes on the east coast this week so i am hoping Phooey, EC and Eva are all OK.

    1. Gloria, EC and I live in 'lightning alley' which is preferable to living in 'tornado alley' like Surfie. We can seek shelter from a few sparks however, a mile wide 200+ mph wind.....Uh, no thanks!
Besides, many killed by lightning were holding a metal club in the air swearing at God because they missed putting a little white ball in a hole in the ground. Sorta makes you go... Hmmmmm.

  5. Good Morning...Love all the posts. Very newsy.

We watched GOP debate last night. Didn't realize just how many debates and Town Halls they had before an election. Heard somewhere that the GOP candidates wanted to band together against Trump. That would be a mistake. They need to rally behind him and get the votes for GOP. He is the only one that could beat Hillary.

  6. I do not know about Robins habits in other parts of the country however, in NC they are voracious worm eaters. They scratch the ground with both feet at the same time(weird) then turn their head listening for sounds underneath them. Robins were my Dad's favorite bird. Wrens are mine.

  7. Just had Robin sightings yesterday. Of course, there are snow predictions for the end of the week so who knows? March still may have some surprises.

Surfie, you went to a Trump rally? Wow! I'm sure it was amazing. I'm getting so worried. It may be because I'm in the Northeast, but all I hear is how Hillary is going to skate to the Oval Office. Poll after poll puts her ahead of Trump. I keep hoping it's bs. Lord knows I never hear of anybody (even casually) talking about supporting her. I think I'm just going to stop looking at polls.

As a matter of fact, Joe & I both say if Hillary wins, we're moving to Georgia. Actually, we've been planning to do that anyway in a couple of years, but since the country will be (for all intents and purposes) over if she is elected, I don't want to be anywhere but in the south. Could this country really be so off kilter as to vote for her? I'm scared.

Gloria mentioned grown up coloring books. I've got 2. I'll need them in the coming months!

    1. Well, today will tell us a lot about our political chances. Don't know what kind of president Trump would make. But I do know that Hillary as president would be devastating. And she needs to lose her "old-lady" outfits.

Haven't checked updates on the Super-Tuesday polls. I'm afraid to look.

  8. I am truly shocked at what my party is doing to derail Donald Trump. They should be ashamed of themselves. They are, in effect, telling us we're stupid and they know better. How insulting! They are ensuring a Clinton Presidency with their childish antics.

    1. Amen, Eva. Did anyone here watch or read Mitt Romney today? I am seething. PLEASE, Deer Ponders, go to this place and read everything you can read, especially the research:

    2. Eva, Surfie...you are so right. Our candidates are so dedicated to sniping at each other. Did they forget that the voters are only interested in the issues?

What will bring more jobs? What will condense an unwieldy government? How will you cut the deficit? How do you stop foreign countries from buying all of important businesses? And so much more!

Surfie, thank you for the link. I will check it out.
