Yeah, yeah...Puffin gets one, too....

The weekend is here! I wish somebody would tell me how Magdalene and Jen are getting along. Phooey I hope you continue to enjoy feeling better...

I don't know what we're going to do Saturday proper, but tomorrow, maintenance is doing one of it's ubiquitous 'inspections' here... so I'll be up all day waiting for the knock that'll probably come around 5 p.m.... ;-)

  1. Mags has checked in lately. She sounds good.

Jen checked in a few days ago. All the paperwork is finally wrapped up. She said she and the kids have good days and bad days. It's hard but they sound like they'll be OK.

Phooey, hope you're still feeling better.

    How are you doing, Froggy?

  2. Good morning, hope everyone has a great day!

Thanks for all the info yesterday.

I was able to find a chiropractor yesterday. I've spent this whole year thinking my insurance would not cover it but it does. Also was able to get a massage.

Don't we have a time change soon? Fall is not my favorite time of year. The seasonal light change messes with me. Pajamas are my friend.

  3. The time change is REALLY late this year. It doesn't happen until Nov. 6th.

Jen has really soldiered through the last couple of months. She has the kids to watch over and make sure are okay and then all the paperwork that comes with a death. THEN she gets to think about herself. I'm in awe of her strength.

Don't envy you waiting for maintainence, Froggy! They work on their schedules for sure.

I'm off to the hairdresser today which means Friday traffic in Los Angeles. Yuck!

Still looking for more Puffin pics. I'll get them to you soon, Froggy.

    Have a great day, everyone!

  4. Not real good, Surfie--I'm down for the count with a sore throat again and my legs are swelling rather alarmingly... I need to see the doctor and get him to see it and adjust my water pills (if they don't see it, they simply tell me to 'watch my salt' pfsst!)

Maybe the building inspectors will hurry up and I can lay down--I don't care if the see me in my jammies and robe...

I'm glad about Mag and Jen--please tell them I am thinking of them both, would you?

You getting ready for your big move, Surfie? Sounds exciting! I remember Sissy and I seeing a beautiful red fox as we were driving to Eureka Srings, AR--Oklahoma is lovely.

Oh, P.S. if anybody's listening to the music, I've got Faure's 'Pavane' up, the Shaker music we used to sing in school, and some additional Celtic pieces Alan Stivell... Pardon my terribly dated and motely collection! ;-)

  5. Froggy, you know you are in my daily prayers. That water retention thing can be a real buggaboo.

Channeling Phooey right now: Lay down. Put your feet up. Get some sleep.

Back when I ws retaining water, my ankles looked like piano legs. My doctor told me to drink more water. Didn't make sense to me, but it worked. Of course, I was young and pregnant at the time.

Take care of yourself, my dear!

BTW, I've been listening to the music. Thank you!

  6. I sorry you're not well Froggy. Giving you a hug(wearing a virtual mask of course). Do you keep your feet elevated?
Seldom listen to music but will sample some of your selections. Enya, is fantastic!
Worried about Roxe, hope she is well and will come back.
    Happy Friday Everyone!

  7. Ha! Surfie! Your Channeling works! I was typing while you were posting. Weird!
BTW, you were correct Gleevec is for CML(that I have) and a few other illnesses.
    Now, I'm awake. Harumph!

  8. Hey, all. Just watching Cavuto. Holder is to resign. Ulsterman predicted this. He still needs to testify and reveal what he knows.

    I will miss him.

  9. Oh, G*d, I forgot Hikergal and Nu too (who nu?) and I sure miss Mrs. Cow, Betty Jean and Gram... (catscowl) Wish them well for me also.

Phooey, music is important--it will literally take your mind from a depressed, anxious, or unhappy state of mind, to a place that feels good. They have measured this on CAT scans and MRI, or PET's or whatever. Sometimes, it can be the only thing that helps after we have taken our Luvox and visited God. He gave it to us to help us--use it--I want you to feel better (and I need to before I decide to pack it in....)

Folks, tell me what kind of music on my sidebar you like--and tell me what you like to hear. I don't pay much attention to the videos that go with them (though please tell me if they are...um improper) because I had 3 seizures last year while I was watching one showing swirling dancing--I pick them for the clearest sound and without ads if at all possible.

I spend hours listening to most of the offerings on the web to put up the nicest fidelity for y'all (real tough work if you can get it! LOL) and we enjoy listening to them, too. Enjoy!

Phooey please listen to Buckley's 'Hallelujah'--the first line--what a beautiful thing to think about--finding a secret chord of music that 'pleased the Lord'! It brings an instant smile to my face, and warmth to my heart to think I could ever 'please the Lord'! Jeff obviously did; God called him home a few years ago, before he was 30...

Sophie Hunger is a rare jewel; she writes all her own stuff and is only available through the Internet. Some of the selections, I posted simply because I like to sing to them and for nostalgia's sake. Try Alan Stivell, Phoo--music and art really help those of us who cannot be as active as we want... and G*d knows I need lots of help with my mental state as I sit here alone 18-20 hrs. a day--Sissy's gets really tired and needs more rest, so I always try to send her to bed early. I WANT A PUSSYCAT!

  10. Is Eva hoarding cats? Can I have one of hers--she has THREE--they seem so nice ... ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  11. Well, I wouldn't call it hoarding :) I'd like to give Puffin away from time to time, but then I look at his sweet face and feel like a monster. It's just that he can be so annoying and always at a time when I need to be doing something other than paying attention to him. His schedule is the opposite of mine!

I've got 3 women to interview next week who seem as though they'd be great pet sitters. One specializes in elderly pets. One is a cats only sitter and the other was referred by my vet. I hope I get a gut instinct about one because they ALL sounded great on the phone.

Regarding water retention. My legs would blow up whenever we drove across the country. I'd sit in the car with flip-flops on but then would barely be able to get regular shoes on whenever we stopped. Horror of horrors, my husband kept calling me Hillary!!

  12. Eva, tell your husband that he was a no good, unexceptable, over-the-top, foul mouthed, Dirty Rotten Scoundrel!!!! Hillary indeed!! Phooey!!

  13. I told him that and more, don't worry!

  14. Hello Froggy and friends!

Phooey has the best one-liners! I'm still lol at the comment above;)

Eva, your Puffin sounds like a cool cat. :) My cat Chance is usually a mellow fellow, but he just loves to torment our Schnauzer. Today he was sprawled across the hallway, just daring Kaiser to walk by. The dog is a big chicken, but he braved the mean kitty to get to me. The cat always trys to smack him when he runs by. I sure wish I had a camera close by to capture some of those 'Kodak moments'. :)

Froggy, I'm so sorry you are so uncomfortable. I hope you get some relief soon! Did that maintenance man show up in a timely manner?

You mentioned above that you would like a cat. I bet you have some great cat rescue groups in Seattle. I belong to one in eastern WA, and we are always looking for people to foster our kitties, while they are waiting for their permanent homes. It's really a great program. If you are interested, I could find out more about rescue groups in your area, and send details in an email.

Anyway, I've rambled on long enough. so I will say good night. Take care everyone! :D

  15. He came at 4:23 p.m., Paget...heh he he--I expected no less of the lad; I was in the middle of scraping up a salad for Sissy and I for dinner, of course.
