  1. Phooey, I'm praying for you and thinking about you all day today. Don't know any prostate jokes, so I can't help there. When I think about what you're going through today, I get all upset. Let us know when you're home.

As for me, today I woke up with my left eye swollen shut. It's opening a bit now. I give up!! Whatever I have is just traveling through my body, I guess. I'm not sure what to do except wait it out. I mean, calling my doc doesn't help!!!!!

  2. Phooey friend, prayers for you. No jokes. I'll just be happy when it's over. Praying that God will guide the hand of the surgeon and that you will feel God's mercy and grace upon you. I pray you will have angels all around you. Please let us know.

I love black kitties with white whiskers.

Eva, sounds like you are going through misery still. do you think you could have a sinus infection?

I may be able to catch a ride with a friends Mom to Eastern Wash to visit the kiddies for a few days. What if I got stuck over there? I might just have to stay for a while. It would be better than going to treatment for ice cream addiction. DH is my enabler.
My procedure has been postponed till Feb 9. I have chronic reflux and last year my food started sticking so I am having a scope to find out if there is a more serious problem. At the same time I will be having the other scope done. Yeah, that one. No stone unturned. Well y'all have a nice day.

  3. Good for you, Gloria, on having your procedures! I have to be dragged kicking and screaming, but it's just nerves. I'm a real baby about the serious things.

Maybe I do have a sinus infection. I've never had one before, so I don't know. Maybe I'm just falling apart. Or maybe this is all just the result of the stress over Boomer's decline, then his death, then the travel over the holidays, dealing with elderly parents, all tied up with a plain, ordinary cold that is taking longer (because I'm older) to dry up. It's been a tough couple of months, but nothing more than everyone else has also had to deal with.

Hope you get to visit with the kiddies. Go ahead and stock up on the ice cream!

  4. Phooey, I just read about your procedure today. You are in my prayers daily. Hope to hear a good report soon.

Gloria, you are also in my prayers. Will keep you in them and believe for good reports.

Eva! I thought I was over the cold you also have and that my sandpaper eyes, dripping nose and sneezing was being allergic to Oklahoma pollen. For the last 2 mornings, I've woken up with my right eye "gunked up" shut.

Health-wise, I can't really complain. All of my dear friends here are in my prayers every day. Love you all!

  5. I also love you all! The urologist said 'no problems were found'. Just a little sore now and sitting at this computer is uncomfortable. Goodnight, dear ladies.

  6. Froggy and Wog , we haven't heard from you today. How are you? Getting concerned.

  7. Froggy is sick as a dog today. Hasn't been up much. Told me to wish everyone well, and she misses talking with you. I keep her updated on everyone at the Pond.

Gloria, acid reflux is not fun. I have a mild case, and a couple pepcid everyday takes care of it. Have to take it seriously. The acid can burn.

Eva, I've never had a sinus infection either. But it can make you pretty miserable. You have had a lot of stress, and that can make you sick too.
Everyday when I read Pond posts, I hope to see that you are feeling better.

Surfie, You sound pretty miserable too. Not much you can do about pollen. Can you get some tests to see what you are allergic to?

Phooey, sounds like you finally got some good news. We all worry about you.

Love all you Ponders. Will pray for a better day tomorrow. It's been a long winter!

  8. Guess what? I think I'm "all of a sudden" better! All my original symptoms are gone except for slightly swollen glands. Yay!! Even my latest problem, the swollen eye, is better. Not gone, but better. Fingers crossed!

Hope you woke up feeling better, Froggy! So glad the 'Wog is there to watch over you!

  9. Eva, that is wonderful to hear. You must be doing something right. Keep it up.

Froggy was up for a while this morning and lay down again. This dreary weather doesn't help. We need some sunshine to really make a good day. I'll be outside on a bus in the rain this morning. Will be back at the Pond soon.

Anyone listen to president O's teleprompter speech? What's your opinion? Boring? Nothing new? Snooze news? Anything hopeful? When will he be on vacation?

  10. I truly miss my Froggy! Love your way dear! Thank you, Woggy!

  11. Wish I could send some sunshine your way, 'Wog. We're at 80 degrees and bright sun (due to the rain we got Monday that washed away the smog).

I've always watched the SOTU address. Under any President. This time, I switched to a movie about 5 minutes in. Just couldn't take it.

  12. Hi ya'll.. I'm here, but very sleepy. Can't keep my eyes open. We have a slight amuount of sunshine now, but I'm too sleepy to enjoy it.

Will drop by after my nap. I want to know more about the president's speech. The economy won't survive another term of O in office. I don't see any solution to the debt and unemployment. When I'm in debt, I stop spending money. That's a no-brainer!

Oh gosh. I did something, and now I lost my name.
Signed 'WOG OOPs! Now I'm back, I think.

  13. So glad you feel better Eva. I loved Los Angeles after a good rain.

Great news, Phooey. You are still in my prayers every day.

WOG, hope you have a good nap. Hope Froggy starts feeling better today. Froggy, you know you are always in my prayers.

I watched part of the SOTU speech last night. After my mind fact-checked about 5 statements, I switched over to watch re-runs of something while goofing around on my computer, trying to teach myself Microsoft Excel. I love my job, but can get a much higher-paying job if I have Excel under my belt. Plus, I just want to learn it to keep my own personal books, etc.

About the allergies, I've heard OK is one of the highest pollen areas in the country and most people who move here acclimate in about 6 months. If the 6-month mark comes and I still have allergies, I'll go to a doctor.

    Love to my Pond Friends!

  14. Hi folks, I have the stomach flu and feel like hell. Please keep the Pond going when I just can't; it really means the world to me. I don't know what's up with this cold... thank you.

  15. 'WOG, Ain't go'in to say a damn thing about your name. Nope! Not me!

    1. Wait! that didn't work! 'Wog, your name is posted weird. Let me try again.

  16. Froggy, Froggy, Froggy... I'm here if you need anything in the night.

Surfie.. might want to take a class in QuickBooks too. A lot of accounting is just repetition. Basic Excel is easy, but it can get complicated. I use it to make charts. A lot of instructions are free online. Also look at YouTube to see how programs work. I love YouTube.

  17. Has anyone else noticed? Not one person is negative towards another person here.
Here is why: Hop...hop...hop... Smooch! We LOVE you Froggy!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Phooey, don't know what happened to my 'WOG name. It almost looks like I'm cussing. So now I have to sign in as plain ole WOG. Or maybe I could do a WOG' (I'll try it, but it won't mean the same thing.)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Too much love here for negativity! Ever notice how much time and trouble being negative entails? We all have more important things to do.

Today, Puffin & Bambu turned 16! The two old men decided to spend their birthday sleeping. They wasted a lot of sun time, but tomorrow looks to be even warmer and sunnier than today.

Hope tomorrow is better for you, Froggy! The stomach flu is tough. Nothing to do but stay in bed and feel awful until it goes through. Don't forget to stay hydrated.

  20. HAHAHAHA...that didn't work! Will just be a plain ole WOG. I'm happy and hoppy even without my apostrophe.

    1. 'Wog, Froggy gave you that apostrophe! Now go find where you misplaced it.
Good Morning, ladies. Are we working on getting well today? Hmmmm?(Tapping my toe)

  21. Good morning, all! Sunny and in the low 80s today, so I'm going to try and complete my healing outdoors.

    Back later.

  22. Froggy, I hope you feel better very soon. The Pond isn't the same without you.

Phooey and all, I think nobody snarks here because we honestly love each other. Snark can be playful and funny when between friends who know it is just that ... playfulness.

Eva, people teased me that I brought the big earthquake to OKC from Los Angeles. Now they are thanking me for bringing mild winter weather! I hope it lasts longer. Nearly 60 degrees and sunny in late January works for me! Hope some outside healing therapy in a warm City of Angels continues to heal you.

I just have to say what great people I work for and with at my new job. A really nice man who works in the shop is having debilitating back problems to the point where he can't work for a long while. The company insurance is fabulous and really helping him on his medical bills, he's getting some disability money, but it isn't enough to support his family. The owner of the company called a meeting today to update everybody at Barry's condition and financial need ... the result?

... The result is that every single person donated at least some of their vacation hours to him, and those of us who have not accrued vacation hours wrote a check for his family. I can't imagine what the owner and my boss (controller) are going to give him in cash as a gift. All but 5 of us are the bluest of blue-collar people who need every cent they earn and every hour of vacation pay they accrue. Everyone stepped up to the plate. What a great bunch of people.

His name is Barry. Please keep him in your prayers for healing, as well as for God to provide for his family financially. Thanks, Pond People!

Love to all. See you in the Morning. Froggy, here comes another prayer for you!

  23. Yep! Prayers for all with an extra flare for Froggy. Good night, ladies.

  24. Hi All... The Wog is here holding down the fort! Froggy just has no pep, no hop. I know that she would be wishing prayers for everyone here who is sick, and especially prayers for Barry.

I'll drop by later this evening in case anyone is still up. Not working has screwed up my sleep time.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Wow, Surfie, that's an amazing workplace you've got! What a difference from so many places where I've worked here. Of course, prayers for your co-worker.

    See everyone tomorrow.

  26. Hi everybody,

Froggy, hope you're getting better. That stomach flu can be so nasty. :( 'Wog is doing a lovely job filling in, but we miss you! Prayers that you come back soon!

Surfie, I'm also praying for your co-worker, Barry. It's wonderful that there are so many caring and generous people in your company. :)

Phooey; I'm so glad your tests came back okay! I hope your "discomfort" is soon a thing of the past. I look forward to your snappy one-liners! ;)

Eva, it's nice to hear that you're getting better. Slowly but surely! :)

Gloria, did you get over here to eastern WA? The weather is so much better this week! The snow is mostly gone. :)

I loved visiting Ft. Worth, TX last weekend. But I discovered that flying is a lot more of a hassle than it was 20 years ago! That part of the trip was just something to get through.

Take care everyone! Love and prayers going out to all of you! :)

  27. Phooey that was sweet of you. Of course there's no negativity here. I wanted the Coffee Klatch to be that way, too, but too many people wanted to run things. Here, we all run things like it should be. Now, on the Klatch, all you here about is Mrs. Cow's ironing board and the latest back and forth between Nu-and-Yotty. I think it's boring.
