I didn't have any knees...

  1. No knees, no creeks and pops getting up, I guess.

Good morning, all! It's a beautiful day in SoCal, but cold again. I didn't get much sleep last night. A certain furball who will remain nameless kept me up as he went under the covers and out again. Under and out again. After getting stepped on all night, Bambu finally gave up and left the bed. That's when Puffin settled down. Maybe it's what he wanted all the time. Sigh. 17 years old and they still squabble.

  3. Hello everyone!

Yesterday I made a comment to Eva about rain in California. Then Wog mentioned it too. I thought I should explain that I was referring to a song from 1972 (a real oldie!) by Albert Hammond, in which the chorus was, "Seems it never rains in southern California, Seems I've often heard that kind of talk before. It never rains in California, but girl, don't they warn ya? It pours, man, it pours." Just some trivia for Tuesday. :) I relate to songs, and whenever I hear an old song, I remember what I was doing; or who I was with, etc. Does everyone else think of songs like that? I thought everybody did, but my hubby says no. Maybe it is a girl thing?

Back to more important things...Wog and Froggie; I hope you listened to Phooey and are taking breaks!

Speaking of breaks, my lunch break is over. I will talk to you all later.

    Have a great day! :)

    1. Of course, I remember the song. I think about it every time it rains. Or whatever it does. Sometimes, I use the word, "rain" just because it's easiest. This latest wet period was somewhere between dribble & drizzle, but it was steady, so it added up. One day, I used the windshield wipers. It was never bad enough to bring an umbrella out.

Songs are the background of our lives and they bring such memories! I feel sorry for kids today. Based on their "music", they're going to have crappy memories.

    2. Hi guys. I have been doing a lot of thinking today - about a lot of things. I can remember where I was when certain songs were poplular. Eva you are right about how their music is influencing our youth. Lately I have been thinking how young people are being robbed of thier carefree youth. Those were good times and innocent times.

Sometimes when Scott and I are washing dishes together we start reminiscing about our childhoods. Speaking about music, Scott had a radio in his room and would make himself stay awake each night until he heard Purple People Eater. HaHa.

    3. The Purple People Eater song was popular when I was a kid growing up in Seattle. I remember the song playing on the old radio in our kitchen while we were eating breakfast; probably during a rainy morning in Seattle! :)

    4. I love that song! Also remember the Purple People Eater. When I'm in the car, my station is always turned to the oldies.

  4. Eva, your rain made it to OKC this morning. It poured all morning, with thunder and lightning. Loved it!

Good to hear you deer Phooey. NCIS!

How is the unpacking going? My priorities, pretty much in order, were:

    functioning internet
bed or couch to sleep on
    functioning bathroom

So long as those things were good to go, I could take my time getting everything else in order. Take care, sisters!

  5. Thank you everyone--I've been in a lot of pain lately from being so busy. I can't get anything to relieve it and it scares me. Slowing down doesn't help--it just leaves me with nothing to do.

    1. Froggy, I'm so sorry you are suffering! Can Wog take you to a hospital emergency room? There has to be something they could give you to relieve your pain! In the meantime, you know we will all be praying for you.

  6. Eva, we always enjoy the furball stories. Our Wolfie is quite the mess too! He gets extra rowdy with his catnip mouse. How's your hand/wrist these days?

Hi Phooey, You are probably in bed by now, but I'll send you a greeting anyway. NCIS for you and Surfie. I like to watch "Dance Moms" tonight. Froggy is looking for something else.

Paget, "never rains in California." Love the old songs. They remind me of younger days too. A tune will just pop up and take me right back to the beach in California.

Gloria, that song makes me laugh. "Purple People Eater"! It's one of those songs that is etched on your mind forever.

Surfie, Dear Surfie... yes, the basics in the new place are working great. We have unpacked a few boxes. Found things that we didn't know we had. Very exciting!

See everyone tomorrow. I have to bring about five more boxes out of the old place, and it's done!
