POND WEEKEND: Do something that makes you happy!

7 comments:

  1. Good morning! 8:30 here and I'm feeling happy with myself because I've already had my car serviced and am back home. Standard stuff like oil & filter change, making sure Little Bit is good to go for winter weather, tires rotated, new windshield wipers. Also had a front headlight bulb replaced. We are supposed to have our 1st hard freeze on Wednesday. I can breathe easy now!

Our big company cook-out yesterday was a lot of fun. Janice, Ben and I started prepping at 7:30 and finished the clean-up at 3:30. It was exhausting but the guys in the shop were blown away. Need I say again that I love my job?

After work, I went to my brother and SIL's house for my brother's birthday. Kid you not: I have the best big brother on the planet. He is THE person I most love and respect. He's also incredibly handsome and funny. It was just my brother and his wife, my sister and her husband, and me. After dinner, SIL cranked up her music playlist and we found ourselves dancing with each other, belting out all the great songs. And we were totally sober!

My brother and SIL were married in 1972. They've had their hills and valleys in life like we all have by the time we're around 60. They are even MORE in love with each other now because they stuck together. It is a beautiful thing to behold.

I have to do some work from home today since I didn't get any work done yesterday, but that's ok. Spending the rest of the weekend doing what I love: Puttering around the house, tending my plants, cooking, bubble bath, giving myself a mani-pedi. And my Sunday phone conversation with the boy!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Love to you all.

    1. Good Morning Surfie,
It's about 9:30 in Seattle. Just love your posts. You do so many fun things. I really like the bubble bath. I haven't had one in years, but they always smell so good. Froggy's leg was hurting in the night, so we sat up for a while. I turned up the heat, we snacked, and talked. Finally tucked her back in bed and made her comfy. Not much planned for today. But I did promise that I would pick up the house, maybe do some laundry. No hurry though. It's a typical dreary day in Seattle. Time for a Vitamin D, and some hot cocoa.

  3. Did I say that I was the mouse in the middle. I like to take naps. I like to rest. I like to do nothing.
Yep, that's me, the mouse in the middle!

We have football tomorrow. Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons in the morning, and Broncos are playing Chargers in afternoon.

We need to send prayers for Eva's little Baby Nathaniel. Haven't heard anything yet. He is so tiny and fragile.

    1. We love you too, Phooey.
Cold weather in Florida! What will you do?
Better put in a supply of stove wood for those brisk evenings.
