The Weekend is here. Happy Hoppings!

  1. Good morning, deers! Hope today is a good day for everyone.

You are all in my prayers today for healing of eyes and a leg, and for Nathaniel growing strong. I thank the Good Lord every day for the love here on the Pond.

I'm going to a flea market today, cooking, general puttering around the house, talking with my sister about Thanksgiving Dinner. All things that make me happy!

What's everyone else up to this weekend?

    1. Deer Surfie,
My, you are up early. Maybe it's not so early in Oklahoma. What a lovely post to start our day. I can use the love and support that we get at The Pond. I, too, am thankful to Froggy for giving us this place to be friends.

I've been really stressed taking care of Sis. I don't always know what to do. Then I read your encouraging post. Thank you for the prayers and good feelings. And the other comment you made put a smile on my face and in my heart. "All the things that make me happy." I forget to do that.

Lately all I do is worry about everything. So I am going to take your advice and crawl back in bed. I appreciate what caregivers do. Monday I am checking on what home service Froggy can get so I know that she okay on days that I work. OOPS! I said I wasn't going to think about it right now. It's Saturday, and it's raining, Doesn't get any better than that for a sleep-in morning. I'll be back later.

    2. Boy! Surfie and Wog were both up early today. I have been home all day but aside from doin some cleaning and laundry I can't remember doing much else.

Wog, I think it is wise to see about getting help to care for Froggy. I am concerned for both of you.

Today Scott and Steve went to the casino for a few hours. I never gone, it's not for me. I look at it as a chance to be by myself. I listen to my favorite ministry online and turn up the volume, listening to praise and worship. I have a weird household. I am weird. I complain about being alone but I stay home all the time on purpose. Today I also threw a bunch of stuff in the trash. We'll see if anyone misses it. Ha!

  2. Hi Gloria, if you think that you are weird, you are just normal. We all have our eccentricities. Sometimes it's lovely to have some time just for yourself. What casino are you near? Did the guys come back with a bucket of money?

I worked with a lady once who lived with an older sister. She used to bring some of her sister's things to work and throw them out. Figured sister wouldn't miss them.

Well, I think obamacare caught up with us. Froggy got a letter last week that said "thanks for choosing Pacific Medical Centers (PacMed). I didn't know what they were talking about. Today we got a letter that said Froggy now has Washington State Apple Health Care. Apple Health?? Isn't that cute? Actually the location of one of the PacMed clinics is only two blocks from our apartment. Much better location. I haven't told Froggy yet. She is dealing with trying to feel better, so I let her sleep. Monday I'll make calls for her and find out what's going on. Think we have to pick a new doctor.

Football tomorrow. Seahawks are playing the Vikings. For sure we'll be watching that game.

  3. One more thought about the PacMed building. It's huge and old, and sits atop a hill. Looks like something from a Stephen King creepy novel. Thank goodness they also have some clinics around town.

  4. I don't think you're weird either, Gloria. I'd almost rather have a root canal than hang out in a casino. I've lived alone for 3 years now and love it. I'm with people all day at work, and get together with friends and family all the time ... but I really love being in my little apartment puttering around and doing whatever I want.

Wog, we've all worried about you getting stressed out. I pray that you find the exactly perfect person to help you with Froggy's care. We love you both so much!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day, doing exactly what you want. Frog and Wog will probably watch football. Go Seahawks! I'll be doing things I love like cooking for next week, last tad of apartment cleaning, watching TV, doing my nails, having a long chat with my son.

    Have a wonderful Sunday!

  5. How is everyone today? Froggy? Wog? Paget? Eva, Joe and Nathaniel? Surfie? Phoo Man?

Yesterday I got high on power when I sneakily threw out all that stuff. I am waiting for a chance to do it again! Might do some baking today.

  6. Thank you so much Pond Family for thinking of us. It's just some days I don't know what to do. This is when I want to say, "Mom, what should I do?" and mom always had the answer.

Froggy got up several times in the night, so she is sleeping in. I'll have the football game on for sure. First game is Seahawks and Vikings, then the Denver Broncos are playing the Chiefs. I don't want to do anything, just lay on sofa and watch TV. But someone needs to do the dishes and laundry and cook. I'll think about it later.

Love to everyone. Your stories always put a smile on my face, and make me feel better. I want you to know how much you mean to me.

  7. Hi everyone! I'm here, but am suffering with my cold still, so I'm lazing about. News on baby Nathaniel is good and getting better. I told my niece I was never taking anything for granted again and as happy as I am that he's bouncing back, I'll never get as excited as I did before. It's still too touch and go. Maybe once he has a month of life under his belt (ha! his micro belt). I am thrilled to announce that he's maintaining a weight of 1 lb 15 ozs. Yay!!

    1. Eva,
Certainly great news about our baby boy! We'll send more prayers. Can't get enough of those.

Take care of that cold. They can be so miserable. Maybe just too much stress. Take it easy. You've been through a lot this summer. How's Joe holding up?

    2. Eva, great news on sweet little Nathaniel. Didn't you say that he weighed 1 1/2 lb at birth? That is a very good weight gain in such a short time.

  8. Froggy has been in and out of bed all day. She gets tired and I send her back to bed. We watched our Seahawks beat the Vikings. Fun, fun game! We are waiting for the Bronco game against Kansas city Chiefs. Should be another fun game. The Chiefs haven't lost a game yet.

I wear my Seahawks t-shirt for early game, but change to my Bronco t-shirt for the next game. I'm ready. And Seahawks won! It will be quite an accomplishment if Denver wins.
