    1. H Eva, Anyone with a cat knows they join in all festivities that include food or mice.

  2. Hi all. How are all my pond friends? Cute kitty. He sure is looking over the Turkey bird. He can't wait for the big day. hope every one has a good day.

Couldn't sleep last night so I got up and made a cup of cocoa and got on the computer. The world never sleeps. I began to smell a very strange odor so I took my nose around the house to find the source. Garage? Furnace? Refrigerator? Yep. So I began to look for a refrigerator online. We spent a few hours at Judd and Black this morning arranging a delivery. This is just what you do not want to happen 3 days before Thanksgiving. My food isn't cold and freezer is thawing and I have to wait till Wed. I may be cooking berries for jam tomorrow and we are deffinitely having peas and leftovers for dinner tonight. So thankfull for J&B they treated us so good.

    1. Gloria, Oh My..that would be bad to lose refrigerator just before Thanksgiving. It's good that you found the problem so fast, and it's fortunate that they could deliver a new one so quickly during the holidays. Thanksgiving has been saved!

  3. Gloria, what a terrible time for the fridge to konk out! At least you are in a position to get a new one.

    Love the picture, too.

Brrrr, is it ever cold today. We finally did make it to 34 so the drive home wasn't slippery. Winter has definitely arrived here.

Don't know a single interesting thing. Love you Ponders!

    1. Surfie, you are always interesting. We just like to hear about your day, and what wonderful, tasty meal you are having. I saw on news that your area has really bad weather and snow. But we knew before the weather man, because you already told us. We are watching Nancy Grace. She has a show about a family that disappeared in Latimer County, OK. Mom, dad, and little girl just vanished. They found their truck. Thought you might know something about this case.

    2. Surf, I don'r know about being in a position to get a new fridge. We we not planning this. While Scott was finishing the sale I walked away and was praying for a miracle and favor and we got it. When things like this happen I think about how it would be to rent.

  4. I forgot (imagine that!) that the president was in Seattle last night for a fund raiser, and left this morning to fly away in his big plane. Tied up all the freeways for hours. I also heard that Nancy Pelosi was around here somewhere too. Isn't the president supposed to run the government? When does he do that?

  5. The President has been out on the west coast doing fundraisers. It's pretty much all he knows how to do. He really likes giving speeches to people who agree with him and then give money. Unfortunately, I clicked on a Drudge link about a party in L.A. he was talking at and I really got sick. These people are so clueless. He has achieved greatness, peace in our time, and the tea party and nasty conservatives are doomed. I hope they're happy in their little bubble. They don't have to worry about things like refrigerators going bad before Thanksgiving.

    1. I give the Wog and Eva comments a big thumbs up. Totally agree.

This morning I said to Scott how amazing it is that next month we will have been married 44 years! In that funny way he hsa he says, " It seems longer doesn't it?"

I am having egg rolls for breakfast. I am pretty creative so now I will be figuring out how to use up some thawed out food and the rest goes in the garbage.

  6. Haven't been around too much lately because of being in foul mood. Pray for all, esp. little Nat. NCIS!

  7. Gloria, hope I didn't offend you about being able to get a new fridge. That's the absolute last thing I ever wanted to do. You're right about renting being easier in some ways. If my fridge or heat/ac, water lines, roof, etc. have a problem then I just make a phone call and it's fixed.

I was a homeowner until hubs passed 6 years ago and we had to scramble when things like that happened. Now I worry about something medical or a huge car repair that will make me dip into retirement funds that I can't afford to dip into. Sheesh. I'll probably work until the cows come home. OK with me as long as I keep my current job.

I'm probably not saying what I want to say the way I want to say it.

Had a brutal day at work today and will have another one tomorrow. A lot of people have been taking their jobs for granted and the owner came down HARD on them today. It was difficult to hear and watch it happen. What is it about people who have a kind, generous boss and take those generosities as an excuse to slack off instead of a reason to bust out their best to get more generosity? I could write an epistle right now.

Anyway, I got a raise today. Promised another one in April. You know what? Show up every day. Show up on time. Be responsible for your job. Pay attention to how something could work better. Is that so hard? No, it isn't.

I'm going to shut up now about myself.

Phooey, you aren't the only one who's been in a foul mood. We still want to her you, grouch and all.

Love you Deers. Thanks for letting me rant.

  8. Congrats, Surfie, on the raise! Go ahead and strut a little. You deserve to. You show up every day, work hard, and don't abuse the perks you get.

The thing that gets me is that I feel as though I know all of you deer Ponders now and I KNOW what good, honest, decent people you are. We all have times of short tempers, of feeling as though we're put upon and no one understands, etc. We're human. Lord knows there are days and days when all I want to do is cry about one thing or another.

The point is that we all keep putting one foot in front of the other, trying to do our best and roll with the punches that come every day. When I read or hear of things Obama says or things the Hollywood crowd believes about us, it just feels hopeless. I wish I could take a break from all of that, but I'm addicted to Drudge, Rush, and all our news sites. We will survive. I don't know how, but we will.

Nathaniel is having another tough period. He's back on the ventilator and getting IV fluids again instead of mother's milk. Now that he's wired up, Nikki isn't allowed to hold him. She's very down about that. The hospital doesn't know what has caused this downturn yet. He has gotten another transfusion and they've put him on antibiotics. One good thing is that they ruled out pneumonia. He's feisty. I know he can beat this... whatever it is.

  12. Deer Ponders,
Happy Thanksgiving no matter where you are. Give thanks. We are still at hospital today. Just ran home to change clothes (only a block). We are doing okay. Will probably be home tomorrow. Ate hospital Turkey Dinner and pumpkin pie. Love to all.

  13. You are in my heart and prayers, Froggy & 'Wog. Be strong. Be calm. Be positive. We are all pulling for you!

Phooey, you are a great neighbor. I'll keep yours in my prayers, too.

Happy Thanksgiving, deer Ponders. We live in the best country in the world and nobody can take that away from us!

  15. Today Baby Nathaniel is 1 month old and has taken out his ventilator himself! I guess he just didn't want that thing stuck in his mouth. Now he has a little nose thingy. I don't know what you call it (I think I've only seen this type of thing on seniors), but it looks a lot less scary.

I hope you were able to bring Froggy home today, 'Wog! I keep praying for it.

  16. Will bring Froggy home on Saturday. She is scared to come home, but she will be okay. I'll be there. And next week she will have home health nurse to drop by and phyical therapy. We miss you Ponders. Good news about our Baby Nathaniel.

  17. Eva, I shouted a hallelujah out loud because Nathaniel yanked that thing out! That little man is destined for something in God's plan. You can take that to the bank!

Wog and Froggy - Is Froggy still coming home today? You might not read this right away, and that is OK. Both of you are safely inside the Pond Family circle of love and faith. We love you both very much.

  18. Good Morning Pond Family,
As far as we know, Froggy will come home today. Will write more later. We are feeling the prayers. Be safe. Love to our Beautiful Ponders.

  19. Yea for little Nathaniel! He is definitely a fighter. Scrappy and determined. God has a plan.

Anywhere Froggy is she is inside a cocoon of love and prayers from our Ponders. We all love and support our Wog and Froggy. God bless you and keep you today.

Paget, how are you? Is the eye condition improving? Missing your presence.

  20. Hi Pond Family,
Brought Froggy home. Think that going back and forth is stressful for her. Will try to keep her home this time. She is tucked in her own bed and sleeping.

Wish we could make everyone's problem disappear. Phooey and Page, how is your neighbor? We are sending prayers to you. Paget, Deer Paget, we are here anytime you can come by. You are a beloved Ponder. Eva, our little Nathaniel is trying so hard. We all love him. Gloria, Froggy will heal from all the blessings at The Pond. Surfie, enjoy this special time with your family. Still looking for a cookbook. Maybe one on Thanksgiving leftovers. Made myself hungry again. Going to check the refrigerator.

  21. Hello Deer friends,

I've been checking in everyday to catch up on the latest; I just haven't had time to spare to sit down and comment. My days and nights have been spent working on my grandson's scrapbook. I had no idea when I jumped into this project, that my first scrapbook wouldn't just fall into place. The expression that comes to mind is, "fools jump in where angels fear to tread." Boy oh boy, that describes me!

Gloria, thanks for asking about my eyes. They are better; but I guess I'm impatient. I want them to be back to normal already. In the scheme of things, this is minor. I'm thankful I can see well enough to work on my scrapbook project.

Eva, I'm so happy to hear that little Nathaniel is improving! What a blessing this is!

Wog, I was sorry to hear that Froggy was back in the hospital, but so glad to see today that she is home now! Please give her my love. And deer Wog, please continue to eat right and take care of yourself. Also, thanks for making me feel so welcome here!

Surfie, I was thrilled to hear that you got a raise! Your comments on how to get ahead in a job were spot on!

Phooey; I'm sorry about your neighbors. I just re-read Romans 8. Powerful message to remember.

Deer friends, there are so many times that I read your comments and think, yes! I know how you feel! Eva mentioned that everyone here is good and decent, and I totally agree! There is so much more I'd like to say, but please know that you are all so special and important to me. I'm thankful for each of you, and so grateful that Froggy started this site.

You are all in my prayers. Extra prayers go out for Froggy's health, little Nathaniel's continued improvement, and Phooey's neighbor.

May God bless each and every one of you.

    Love from Paget

  22. That was a wonderful post, Paget. We know you're busy and when you do get the time to chime in on things, it's worth it!

'Wog, tell Froggy over and over that we're thinking of her and sending healing vibrations from wherever we are (okay, you can take the girl out of Calif. but you can't take Calif. completely out of the girl). Vibrations, prayers, all of it together is a powerful force. It's for you, too, 'Wog. Don't ever forget that. Without you, we're all in deep Pond muck :)

Thanks for the cheers for Baby Nathaniel. Every day that goes by is another bit of strength. The pictures my niece sends me show him to have such wrinkly skin. He needs to keep that ventilator out and that Mommy's milk flowing in so he can fill out more. I want to see a plump baby! It's a long way to go yet, but I'm hoping the more time that passes, the faster the gains will be made.

Georgia got a hard won victory over arch rival Georgia Tech today. We've had so many injuries, this win was a bit of a surprise. I'll take it, though :)

  23. Goodness...I step away from the Pond for a while and come back to so many wonderful posts. Paget, glad that your eyes are improving and that you have been busy with your special project of love for your Grandson. Eva, I missed that ball game. I really try to watch Georgia because I know you'll be watching. Phooey, thank you for this evenings music. We had such wonderful music. I love to go on You Tube and reminisce.

I always tell Froggy that she is missed and loved on the Pond. Thanks to everyone of you for your good wishes and blessings for healing.
