Enjoy this week with Pond Friends.

  1. Good morning! Love looking at today's picture while watching it snow outside. Sure am glad I ran all my errands yesterday and can stay inside my cozy little nest today.

It rained all day yesterday. All the roads are now covered in black ice and snow is falling on top of that. All major highways through the city were shut down earlier because of big rigs jackknifing and multiple car pileups. Police cars and ambulances are even getting involved in crashes. My only challenge today will be walking to the trash dumpster without slipping and falling down.

The drive to work tomorrow will be horrible. I'll be late because I won't get on the roads until it's light outside and the rush hour cars will have built up heat on the roads and melted at least one lane. I'm not going to stress about it today. Today, I'm puttering around and cooking and having a marathon phone conversation with my son and watching it snow! And dreaming of a warm summer night that surely will eventually arrive!

How are you all, Deer Ponders?

    1. Surfie,
You surely will not miss the snow. I thought we should all spend the day at some warm, sunny beach today. Seattle had a couple days of sunshine even though it was cold. Now we are back to rainy days for this week. Froggy is still sleeping, and I am going back to bed too. Seems like a napping kinda day.

Anyone watching Academy Awards? I used to always watch them, especially in California were you get a lot of pre-award shows and interviews.

    2. It's been snowing and very windy. Now, sleet is coming down with a huge wind. Imagine frozen kitty litter coming down sideways. This is supposed to turn back into snow sometime soon, and snow until about 9pm tonight. I did manage to walk the trash to the bin but slipped and fell on the way back. Thankfully, I didn't hurt myself. Time for a bubble bath.

  2. NEWS FROM THE NEWS:

Krauthammer on Ukraine: 'Everybody is shocked by the weakness of Obama's statement'
    Published February 28, 2014 / FoxNews.com

Charles Krauthammer told viewers Friday on "Special Report with Bret Baier" that President Obama's statement on the latest Ukraine developments showed "weakness," and implied that "we're not really going to do anything" about the political upheaval in Ukraine.

On Friday, armed men, allegedly Russian military forces, entered the Crimea region and took control of two airports. President Obama then delivered a message from the White House briefing room, saying he was "deeply concerned" by the reports and that "there will be costs" for any military intervention in Ukraine, though he declined to specify what those costs might be.

    (snip)
"The Ukrainians, and I think everybody, is shocked by the weakness of Obama's statement," he said. "What he's saying is, we're not really going to do anything."

    2. Hi Phoo Man...
Sarah Palin is one smart lady. The O administration is rife with "I told you so."
I found a lot of good stories to post today, but tried to limit it to 3-4.

Wounded Warrior Blasts Obama for Lack of Leadership in Fiercely Worded Open Letter
    Kyle Becker | On 02, Mar 2014

    Dear President Obama,

My name is Brian Kolfage, I’m a triple amputee and retired Air Force veteran who was severely wounded on September 11, 2004 in Iraq.

    (snip)
I’m not placing blame on you for the war, I’m placing blame on you for destroying what we’ve worked so hard to build. You’re not a leader, you’re a community organizer. A leader would have stood up regardless of the situation and put America’s agenda first and that is ensuring a secure Iraq even after 10 years of war. But, you placed Barack first, just as Robert Gates confirmed in his new book.

Joe Biden Made a Passionate Plea to Sign Up for ObamaCare - Only One Small Problem... Caleb Howe / On March 1, 2014

At a stop in Phoenix, Arizona this week, Vice President Biden tried to drum up some new enrollees for Obamacare. There was only one slight hitch in the plan: his prospective customer was actually a Canadian tourist.

  6. Good Morning Pond Family,
It is Wednesday, and all is well. I am on my way to catch bus. I'll check in when I get home. Froggy is uncomfortable, and she is going back to bed to rest leg and back.

Hope everyone has a good day. One day closer to the weekend!

  7. Hope you stayed safe out there today, Wog. Froggy, I feel terrible that you are still uncomfortable. Really, really, really wish I could heal you up. I can still pray, and do!

It just started snowing here. Again. On the bright side, it has been such a horrible winter that spring will be even more wonderful!

  8. Thought I'd just drop in to wish everyone well. Prayers for better days ahead for each of you.

  9. Hi Phooey,
Always a pleasure to hear from you. Thank you for the prayers for your Pond Family.

Deer Surfie, Hope you didn't get snowed in too badly. You must be so tired of winter. It just keeps coming back. We had a beautiful sunny, almost warm day in Seattle...to be followed by several days of rain. Depressing.

Froggy can't seem to get comfortable. I help her as much as I can. Tonight she ate a salad from McDonalds, and topped it off with a bowl of popcorn. (Yes, I had some popcorn too.) I like to munch popcorn while we watch TV.

  10. Good morning, all. Nice to hear from you Phooey. Hope you and Paige are doing well.

We're having what I hope is our last big blast of winter today. High wind with rain/sleet/snow. The 9-day forecast shows us up into the 60's during the day and well above freezing at night. I'm ready for the tulips and daffodils to start springing up!

Don't forget to spring forward your clocks before going to sleep tonight!

Froggy, I'm so sorry you are still uncomfortable. You've got a lot of guts to put up with this for such a long time. Still keeping you in my prayers every day to feel better.

Hope to hear from Eva soon. She's probably in heaven, visiting baby Nathaniel and the rest of her family.

    Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!

  11. Hi Surfie...
We can hope that your snow is done for this season. It has been a teensy bit too much snow. We are stuck with a dreary day, a dreary weekend. I had plans to get things done...you know, dishes, cooking, buy groceries, laundry. But it's now almost 3pm so I don't think anything will get done today. Just going to camp out on sofa, watch TV and keep Froggy company.

We should hear from Eva soon. We all want to know about Baby Nathaniel. He seems to be growing so fast. Joe will be happy to see Eva come home.

I have an application to fill out for Salvation Army Thrift store. Thought I should just stay there until Froggy gets better. They will be understanding if I need to take her to the doctor, and it will be a low-stress job.
