from our Froggy~

  1. Froggy has been approved to go to rehab today. So I need to get back to hospital so that I don't miss the free ride over. Will talk with everyone later. I have so much to respond to. I love the pet sitting co-op, and the stories of petting sitting. I'm afraid of pit bulls and Rottweiler's too. You never know when they'll "turn." I Colorado some people owned half-wolf dogs. They're a handsome dog, but again you never know when that wild-side will come out.

  2. Oh, Froggy will be on the mend now, getting out of the hospital is fantastic news. As far as the 2 pitbulls are concerned, they are lover bugs and the main reason I am not concerned is the fact that they live with two cats, Cally is a little peanut, and Noah, the 20 lb male cat rules the entire house - people and dogs. Foggy , know that you are in nightly prayers for healing from the Holy Spirit. How do you spend your time ? puzzles, TV, ? I spend so much time in waiting rooms, I take a box of pencils, an eraser ! and Sudoku puzzle books.
I don't have one of those I pads , or whatever, those other people sit there 'thumbing' away" on their little plastic gizmos !! Call coming in from DH, on his way to Tulsa, catch you all later.

  3. Hallelujah! I know Froggy will be so much better out of the hospital! And it's close by? G-d provides. Let us know more, 'Wog, when you have time. I hope you're going to be getting some good sleep now. You're running yourself ragged. Please don't overdo.

EC, hope Gram drops by. It'll be nice to chat with her.

  4. Hi, I made it back. A little late, but I'm home. Had to wait in the dark for the bus. Then I saw it coming... and it stopped a block away, and turned out it's lights. Drats. The driver was taking his
    break.

Froggy doesn't like the rehab place. Not as friendly as the hospital. The bed doesn't have rails. And the other lady in the room has her oxygen on somewhat loud so she has to turn her TV up so she can hear it. So everyone gets to hear it

I will relay all the greetings that each of you send her way. You are true Ponders!

  5. Spent night at home with TV on all night. Need to straighten up the place, run the vacuum, and dust before Froggy comes home in a couple weeks. Keep well...I'll be back later this afternoon or this evening after I visit with Froggy.

  11. Hello deer frog friends,

Wog, please give my love to Froggy too. I pray that she will heal quickly, and come home soon! I'm sure it's a great comfort that you're there by her side, with your love and support. Remember what other ponders have said, that you need to take care of yourself too! We want our Wog to stay healthy!

I too have been hanging out at the hospital and doctor's office for the last two weeks. On 9/4 I took hubby to the emergency room and after a CT scan, he was diagnosed with a kidney stone. That was a first for him. He's a tough guy, and that pain brought him to his knees! Doc had him wait to see if it would pass on its own. He was drugged up to kill the pain, and after a week we called to urge the doc to just go in and blast it out. We learned that the doctor was on vacation! Thursday, they finally used the sound wave machine to blast it into pieces. He is still in lots of pain, as the blasting alone causes bruises on his kidney. I would ask you deer ponders to please say a prayer for him. He is anxious to feel better so he can get back to work, as he has no sick leave.

Now, on to other subjects. I know we shouldn't feed the trolls, but this one seems to have a vendetta! Maybe Wog can ask Froggy how to block this person. I seem to remember Froggy doing that once. She also knows where people are located by their IP addresses, and though I don't have that techie knowledge, I know it's available to the owner of the blog.

Eva, I didn't comment a while back, but wanted you to know how happy I am for you and your family that baby Nate is doing so well! What a joy for all of you!

EC, your fur babies sound like sweethearts. I would love to see a picture of your 20 lb. cat!

Phooey and Gloria, I loved your troll comments! At least he/she is giving us a good laugh!

Love to all you deer ponders!

    1. ditto above comments. Paget, those fur babies are my kids cousins !My babies are a 13 " beaglie and an 80lb Black Lab. I know you ponders are cat lovers, but we will not have one in our house, DH would have a fit if he saw an animal, kid or not, on the dining room table or kitchen counter. It is why, even though I love my brother and will watch his "zoo", we do not eat at their house, Cally and Noah are always up on the kitchen or dining table and counter and sis-i-L rolls out her biscuits on the counter . BLAH

    2. Paget, it's always good to hear from you. Sorry to hear about your husband's problem. My Dad went through the same thing and told me that the pain was beyond words. Prayers for a quick recovery.

EC !!! How do you like this nice cooler weather we are having ? Yippy !

Love to all. esp. Froggy and 'Woggy.

    3. EC, I hear you! I wouldn't want to eat at your brother's house either! Pet hair is nasty in food! You won't find that in the food I cook. When we adopted our cat, Chance, 5 years ago, I noticed he had a tendency to jump up on our table. I discouraged that, but I no longer roll out dough on the table. Now all my pie crusts are rolled out on my flat top stove. The dining room table gets an additional cleaning, right before I set the table for dinner. Soon after we got our kitty, we were remodeling our kitchen counters. We took them out one day, as they were being replaced. Chance didn't know that, (being a cat) and tried to leap up onto the non-existent counter. Poor guy fell through to the floor level. Thankfully, he wasn't hurt, but it scared him enough that he hasn't tried to leap up there again!

We also have a dog. Kaiser is a 19 pound mini-Schnauzer. I love both my pets, warts and all. Kaiser is a sweetheart with the family, but he has an annoying habit of barking at anyone else he sees or hears. He is especially irritated at the school bus, because he knows the kids walk past our house to get to the bus. When friends come to the door, he still barks at them like a maniac. We've tried to break him of that habit by using a citronella collar, (I won't ever use a shock collar) but the smell of the citronella doesn't bother him - it only bothers me! Chance goes out of his way to rub up against Kaiser, and that also annoys him. Both of them like to be near me, and if I "nod off" in my recliner before Chance has jumped up on the chair to greet me, he'll give me a gentle bite on my arm to get my attention. Boy, does he get my attention!

My point is that I love both cats and dogs. Both can be challenging, but I would be lost without them. :)

    5. Oh, the SIL cleans, it's just the idea, what if she missed a spot? I am sorry your DH has to go through that, We haven't but the DH's brother, a Dr no less, suffered greatly. I got the big girl Molly just for her barking, as a home watch dog, the beaglie only barks in his sleep dreaming, a good thing, when I was traveling w/DH we were not allowed pets on the rig, so he and I hid in the bunk and he never made a sound when we were at a customer. However, there was a time in a tiny NJ truckstop, a driver was having trouble backing into a space and DH went in the store and had not put the desk top over the steering wheel. Mr Shiloh James put both paws on the center, blew the HORN for a full minute and I got the finger from the guy, I tried to point to the dog but he couldn't see him through the tinted window. YIKES

    6. Phooey, YES, as I said in my emails, I demolished an overgrown Lantana, it was cool enough to work on the yard, but then the rain came back today so I am staring at my Pittasporim (SP) that needs a major trim. Gloria said she has a Lantana in a pot, wish I could send her some of mine, they are trying to take over the yard. Did get the azaleas chopped down, won't have Purple Formasa flowers in Feb , wrong time to cut but they were growing into my baby Lagustrium tree and that is a keeper. We lost 15 Live Oaks and Red Ruffles in the 4 hurricanes so it has been an up hill battle to re do the yard. But this cool weather is nothing like what the NE is facing, Saranac Lake, old stomping grounds is like 20-30 degrees below normal. I LOVE Floridah.

  12. All of you give me a chuckle when I get home. Thanks for all the stories. Froggy had a kidney stone once. Said it was the most painful thing she'd ever had. EC, Froggy mostly watches TV and naps at the rehab. Monday she will start both physical and occupational therapy. It will be another step closer to coming home.

Lots of football Sunday. I took Froggy a list of the games so she could get a start on them at 10 am. At 1:30 (Pacific Coast time) the Denver Broncos will be in Seattle. I have both Bronco and Seahawks t-shirts. I better wear the Seahawks shirt tomorrow. Even the workers at McDonalds are wearing Seahawks shirts. Great fun!
