These are my eight darlings. Luke 17, Grace 16, Olivia 14, Rachel 12, Sophie 10, Camille 8, Joel 7, and Celeste 3. Now you can see why I am always trying to get over to see them.

This is a happy thread, so I'll post my happy story. My nephew and his fiancé are expecting a baby in April (wish they were already married). Both families celebrated Christmas Eve together. I have a new girlfriend! Nephew's fiancé's mom is my age. We both moved to SoCal when we were young, married, raised our kids, both became widows and moved back to OKC. We are the same age, love to do the same things (cooking, prowling around antique malls & thrift stores, etc.) We live 6 blocks away from each other! Anyway, we had a wonderful time meeting each other and talking talking talking with each other. Great new friendship was my Christmas Eve gift. She feels the same!
Sometimes, life brings challenges you don't think you can deal with. THEN, life brings a surprise gift that doesn't cost a cent.
Wonderful story of friendship, Surfie. Life has so many surprises and blessings for us. I think that I will change our Pond picture tonight for New Years. How did it come around so quickly. I do hope that 2015 goes a little slower...and a little kinder.
