  1. Howdy Hoppers, Can you out-hop these big bunnies? A flock turned up in Fargo, ND. You can see video on You Tube.

  2. Now, that's what I call a bunny!!

Snow is melting... just in time for another dusting tomorrow. I'd rather have the snow than the ice!

    1. Hi Eva, even though snow is miserable sometimes, you really need it so you have water all summer from the snow melt. I really don't know how California can look so green in some places when it doesn't have any water. But that's another story for another day. The ice is the scary stuff. We watch the news everyday, and see the bad storms back East. They just keep coming. Froggy and I always wonder if you are okay. (P.S. buy more cat food!)

Did you and Joe find a house yet? Ponders want to know!

Tomorrow I'll be staying home because of Seattle rain. Some places (not Seattle) got flooded. Froggy and I live on a hill, so not a chance that we'd get flooded. I should have time to put up a couple news articles. Too much to choose from.

  3. Frog and Wog, how are you two deers doing this morning? Hope you are both feeling fine and are able to stay out of the rain. The national weather report I saw this morning said the west coast is in for a month or two of big rain storms. California needs it, but Seattle probably does not.

Eva, the same weather report I saw said that your neck of the woods is in for sustained harsh winter weather for a while. You and Joe stay safe! Just remember ... spring is just around the corner.

I have a prayer request. Remember praying for my dear friend Karen? It took over a year, but she came back 99% after the brain surgery. Late last week, she started sleeping excessively. When she got up on Thursday, she was confused and couldn't speak coherently. She's in the hospital and her neurosurgeon is running tests. All I know right now is that she did not have a stroke. Her brain tissue is swelling in certain areas. Please pray for Karen Sue.

I'm feeling totally self-absorbed to say this, but Karen's situation reminded me of Phooey. I don't think we've heard from our Phooey for a while. Phooey, how are you?

    Love to all Deers.

  4. Oh dear! My prayers for your dear friend, Karen. I remember what she and her family went through before and I'm so hoping that this is not a "comeback". Please, please keep us updated.

I worry about Phooey, too. It has been awhile.

We're fine here. The latest weather patterns have had the worst just missing us. Joe is up in New York visiting his folks and they have deep snow up there. Today the temp is supposed to go up into the 40's. The other day, the high was 18. Monday we may get snow, but I bet it'll just be rain.

No luck on the house hunting yet. I'm trying not to freak out. We have a couple more months of breathing room. Our "do or die" date is May 1st.

Love to you all with sugar on top!

  5. Deer friends, I read all your comments at least twice daily, first thing in the morning/last before bed. Don't believe I mentioned that my Parkinson's/Essential tremor has given me problems for the last few months. Today I'm able to type somewhat (with many corrections-Ha!).
Page and I are moving to a house on our daughters ranch next week. We have/are busy packing. Hopefully it will be a smooth transition for us and our dog will love having playmates !
Surfie, Karen Sue will be the first on my prayer list.
I love each and everyone of you ! Hi Froggy !!!!

  6. Phooey, my thoughts are with you. Moving under the best of circumstances is one big pain in the a**! Hang in there and don't overdo. Hope you are still steady enough to toss a few back. That'll help :)

  7. So glad to hear from you, Phooey. You are always on my prayer list. What Eva said about tossing a few back sounds like a pretty good idea right now! Love you, deer Deers.

  8. 'Nite 'nite sweet ladies, and yes I tossed a few back today with a straw because otherwise it dribbles down my face.
PS- You really ought to see me trying to eat peas with a fork. I have to stab the little bastards lest they fly all over the room !

  9. Hi Deer Pond Family,
Surfie, we are sending all our Prayers, the very Best Prayers we can give to our Karen. Let us know when you find out anything.

Eva, if you can't find a house right away, you can stay at a hotel. Froggy and I stayed in one for a month before we found a nice apartment in Seattle. Some have tiny kitchens for cooking, and you can get a small refrigerator even if they don't have a kitchen. We had three cats at the time. Was no problem. Be sure there is room for litter box in the bathroom. Find one near a restaurant or café. You'll be okay.

Deer Phooey, I didn't realize that you drop by every day. I'll be sure to write a little something or post news more often. We'd do anything for you and Miss Page. We loved your story about stabbing peas. They are hard to catch even on a good day. Made Froggy laugh out loud.

Froggy doesn't always write because her hands bother her. So I keep in touch with everyone, and let her know about any hoppings. She sends her love to all her friends, and "smoochies" to Sir Phooey.

  10. Good evening deer Pond Friends,

It was especially great to hear from Phooey today! I'm glad you had some calm-me-down juice to ease your stress. :) It's nice that you and Page will be close to your daughter. :) Praying that your move will be painless.

Surfie, prayers for your deer Karen are on the way!

Wog and Froggy, thinking about you and all your rain. We've had so much lately too. Then the winds came, and it was 65 on Friday! What a weird winter.

Eva, I hope this next storm won't be too bad! Good luck finding a home fast. I've been there too, and it can be overwhelming!

It's late, and there's work tomorrow, so goodnight all.

Prayers for all you deer pond friends!

    Love from Paget

    1. Paget, you always write a newsy post. Love to read 'em. I like the way We Ponders take care of each other. We have a very kind group of Friends.

  11. Whenever I get frustrated, I'll think about Phooey and the peas. It's a great image :)

We went to look at a condo the other day and the realtor couldn't get the keys to work. Hope that isn't an omen!

    1. Hi Eva, just keep thinking about Phooey and the peas. We need to invent a special pea-stabbing fork. About the condo, will you get another chance to see inside? Is it on the island? Some omens are Good Omens!

I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I understand about your hands. It's hard for me to type too. I love you.

  13. While I was looking for a job online, I came across this interesting article"15 Non-Kitchen Tools to Use in the Kitchen." Click on some of the links to see how they did these things. I really like where they sucked an egg yolk into a plastic bottle to separate yolks from whites. At Froggy's house we keep fondue forks in the kitchen. Very useful tool.

  14. I took Joe out for his birthday last night and my meal came with peas. As they rolled all over the place, I gave some real thought to 'Wog's suggestion that we come up with some sort of instrument to make the whole pea-eating process easier. I couldn't come up with anything. We may have to abolish peas altogether (except when used in recipes).

We looked at the condo yesterday afternoon. It's okay, but very small. It's in a good location, though. A place called Mantoloking. It's down the road a bit from our island on the larger, barrier island. The entire area was damaged badly from Sandy. There's still a great deal of work going on, but much has been completed. I don't think it's for us, but maybe.

    1. Eva, tell Joe Happy Birthday from your Pond Family.

About a new place, keep looking. You'll know when it's the right one. The first thing Froggy always looks for...is there a place for the cat's litter box? That's a real important item!

After seeing the videos on kitchen tools, maybe we could invent a pea straw and just suck 'em up like they did with the egg yolks. Does Phooey have any thoughts about better pea-eating?

  15. Deer family, must shut down internet for a few days due to move. Will miss your posts sorely ! WOG, eating peas is not a major concern of mine; with my malfunctioning bladder peeing is. Love you all. Payers for Karen. Love you Froggy !
