Image result for ili pika
He's so adorable. I vote that we make him an honorary Pond Frog.

"You see that cute critter? I hope you enjoy that photo. Savor it. That's the first image of an ili pika taken in 20 years.

"The ili pika, endemic to the Tian Shan mountains of northwest China, is also called the "Magic Rabbit," though I prefer to call it the "Rabbit that looks like a really cute dog that needs kisses and a nice home."

"The ili pika was first discovered and photographed by conservationist Li Weidong in 1983, naming the animal after his hometown Ili. Weidong has been tracking the animal ever since."

    1. Where have you been ? We have missed you !!! here and on The Connection. ( Like I really have room to talk ) I'll second your motion Wog regarding the honorary Pond Frog. The ili pika looks like t offspring of a bunny and a dog. Thank you all deer ladies for caring. Love you all !!!!!

  3. Two Ponders have returned. Hi Gloria, are you visiting family in Eastern Washington? How's the weather on that side. We are still having chilly mornings, but the days are getting nicer. We miss you when we don't hear from you.

Howdy Phooey...Glad you like the pic this week. I couldn't wait to post it. He is too cute to be real. They are very rare. Maybe they can catch a few and start a breeding program. Phooey are you doing anything fun? Visiting your daughter and kids?

There is a lot going on this week: April Fools on Wed, Passover starts Friday, Easter begins on Sunday. Froggy talking from across the room: "Tell my Pond Friends that I am thinking about them."

  4. I love this little guy!! Let's definitely make him a Pond mascot. I can't decide which animal he looks like most, so I guess we'll just have to say that he looks like himself. Gosh, I hope he has a mate and I wish we could see babies. If they're so hard to find and photograph, though, I guess we just never will. Too cute for words.

Been missing you Gloria & Phooey. Glad you've dropped back in.

  5. Love this little guy. Absolutely must be a Pond critter! So good to hear from Gloria and Phoo. Phooey, you are in my prayers. Hope you can post soon. Froggie, would love to read a post from you, too. You know how much we love you! Gloria, what is going on in your life?

It is truly a gift from God that I moved back home and wound up in this job. The days that it wears me out are usually the days that it is so dysfunctional and funny that I don't know whether to tear my hair out or laugh myself silly. Most days, I laugh myself silly and take notes for the movie.

I do have to have a serious talk with an employee tomorrow. This will be my 2nd and last conversation with her. Hope she takes the music out of her ear, focuses on her job, and realizes she has to step up to the plate. Please say a prayer for Katie. She can do this job, but needs to grow up. She's married to a police officer, but acts like a 13 year old. Mind boggling. I know she can make it. I've been trying to help her. Please say a prayer that she listens this, her last "talk."

I really don't like firing someone who is capable of doing a good job but JUST WON'T DO IT!

Please also say a prayer for me. I don't like these conversations with employees. I have to be clear about their shortcomings, while helping them succeed and not scaring the daylights out of them. Please just pray that I say what needs to be said in a way that helps Katie.

    1. Dear Surfie, Prayers for Katie to get some good sense. Someday she will realize what a good boss she had. So many people shouldn't be bosses. You are one of the good bosses. I would love to work for you if your business were in Seattle. But I am a West Coast gal. Love the ocean and I'm not leaving. Froggy really misses Denver, but we are both set up with doctors and dentists and transportation and friends.

  6. Tuesday in Seattle...Froggy and I just got scared by a big BOOM of thunder. Don't hear that very often around here. The storm passed through quickly, but left some hail north of downtown. Gloria, did you get any hail up there, or maybe on the eastside? Also snowing in the mountains. We really needed the snow. Guess it's not quite Spring yet.

  7. Thursday and still no summer. We had more thunder and lightening last night. Poor little animals must be so scared. I want to hold all of them and tell them that everything is okay.

Is everyone getting ready for Easter. Tomorrow is Good Friday, and Passover starts at sundown. Very important day for Ponders and Ponder Families. Love to all.
