  1. A blessed weekend for all Ponders!

We've started moving stuff to the new house, so I won't be dropping by much for the next 2 weeks. I'll catch up with ya'll later.

Surfie, how did the talk go?

    1. Eva, I was going to say Good Morning but it seems to be 4pm! Where did the day go? Froggy wants to know if you like the new place? It was such a worry for you to find a new place between snowstorms. We'll be here when you get back.

Froggy and I wish you a Wonderful Passover week.

  2. Good morning! Hope everyone has a blessed Passover and Easter.

Can hardly wait to hear from Eva after she and Joe get moved. Eva, could we see pictures of your new place after you get settled in? I put looking for a new place on hold because the winter got so bad. Big goings on at work, and I could not take any time off from work until after this Friday. Will start looking again next weekend.

The talk with Katie went fine, but she still hasn't changed her work habits. As much as I hate to do it, I'm going to have to let her go. Caterpillar Global Mining took bids for a national contract. We made it to the top tier. They are inspecting us in person this Thursday and Friday. Things are so intense at work right now, I can't let her go until after the Caterpillar inspection is over. Imagine taking everything out of a city-block long hydraulic manufacturing plant, cleaning everything, putting it back. Our website is a work in progress but you can check out where I work at http://www.horizonhydraulics.com

I'm doing some packing this morning. The whole family is getting together for Easter lunch. My sister's first grandbaby is due in a month (her son's baby). Her daughter has, we think, met the man of her dreams. The whole family gets to meet him today. Exciting! After lunch, I'm paying Karen a visit because today is her birthday!

My son just turned 25 and got promoted to Buyer for the #7 Whole Foods store in the world! He has a bright career future but is realizing this is not what he really wants to do. What he really wants to do is go to culinary school. So, mister "I'm a mature professional and don't need any of mom's advice" is burning up the phone calling me to talk about this decision. Cracks me up! In a nutshell, he is realizing what joy it has given me making great food to serve others. He watched it (and I included him in it) all his life.

I have no clue what God's perfect plan for his life is, but I pray every single day that He shine the light on the perfect path He desires for my son. Of course, he really is God's son. I just received the privilege of being his mother on planet earth. Hope that doesn't sound wiggy, but that's how I see it.

Love you all Deer Ponders. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

    1. Good Morning Surfie, Wonderful newsy post. So glad that you have such loving family get-togethers. Easter doesn't get any better than that. I added your work web address to my list. There is a special card taped to the wall by my computer with Ponders emails. Your son with make a good chef if he takes after his mom! We have a man in Seattle, Tom Douglas, who owns several restaurants and writes cookbooks. That could be your son.

  3. Speaking of Easter dinner...I am cooking pot roast in the pressure cooker. Making mashed potatoes, steamed carrots, crescent rolls, salad. Froggy got her Easter basket this morning...filled with chocolate eggs and Jelly Belly beans. And it's not raining in Seattle. It will be a wonderful day. Tonight Froggy wants to watch Charlton Heston in Ten Commandments. Lasts til midnight. Don't think I can stay awake til the end, but I'll try. Did I mention that I saw a Robin yesterday. That's a most excellent sign of more good days coming.

    Love you all
    from Froggy and 'WOG

  4. I'm already exhausted. I hate moving and this is just 15 minutes away from where we currently are! Somehow, when looking at this place, I missed the fact that there is NO dishwasher in the kitchen. I can't believe I didn't catch that. Arrgghh, washing dishes by hand.

I'm glad we're not going to be homeless next month, but I really wish we could stay on this little island. I've so enjoyed living here!

Surfie, your son wants to go to culinary school! How cool is that? You have every reason to be proud. That's great. People gotta eat, right?

    1. Hi Eva, I'm pleased that you took time to drop by The Pond. Moving is never fun. I've never had a "fun" move! No dishwasher. That will be inconvenient. You can buy one of those small, moveable washers. I've never tried one so not sure how good they are. At least you wouldn't have to do dishes everyday by hand. I mostly hand-wash dishes now. I used to only use the dishwasher at Thanksgiving or some big meal that uses lots of pans, etc. How is Bambu doing with the move? He must wonder what's going on.

  5. Bambu doesn't know about the move yet. I'm worried about how he'll adjust at his age. We'll have his stuff in the house before we take him. I intend to spend the first 2 days we're there inside with him. Depending on how he's doing, I may then chance a grocery run.

  6. Morning everyone. Here I am popping in to say Hi. The weather has finally turned warmer. Sooooo much to do. The sock mating queen has returned from eastern Washington, now I need to settle down and get some work done at home.

Did anyone see that our Governor Inslee (aka Poindexter) hoisted the Communist China flag at the capital to "honor" Chinese delegates last week? A proud group of veteran patriots took matters into their own hands and took it down!!!!

Hi Phooey, how ya doin'? How is everyone else?

Eva and Surf, it may sound odd but I enjoy moving. We have been in our current home for 15 years so we are really dug in. Too much stuff!

    1. Howdy Gloria...Froggy read me the article about Inslee and the communist flag. What was he thinking??? What a total idiot.

    2. Wog, this state could be a wonderful place if it weren't run by liberals. How about that woman socialist that was elected to the Seattle city council. Elected by the people.

It is a beautiful day. Hope you two sisters can find time to go out and sit in the sun for ten minutes and absorb some vitamin C.

    3. Gloria, yes, I was shocked when the socialist Kshama Sawant was elected to Seattle City council. What's next? We just keep sliding down that slippery slope.

You'll like this one too. Doesn't get any better than this!
Headline: 3rd graders write 'Get Well' cards to convicted cop killer

    4. Dear Lord in Heaven, please save us from ourselves. The world just keeps getting crazier. I would be furious if my third grader was required to write that.

    5. I forgot to say that the cop-killer was Mumia Abu-Jamal...who should have been executed years ago.

I saw that Tiger Wood is playing golf again. The Masters, I think. He hasn't played very well since he got caught cheating on his wife!

Night All...staying up to watch Dr. Phil with Froggy, then it's to bed for this Ponder.
Hooray...When we get up in the morning, it will be Friday.

  7. 'WOG is now a poet! Today is the day that they feature my Bus Poem online. Me and another lady in my building had their poems selected. The project picked 365 poems, one for each day of the year. Some of the poems are displayed inside the Seattle buses. Don't know how that works.

  9. The famous Froggy-sense-of-humor has struck once again! She was watching the evening news and heard that The Hilly would be making an announcement about running for president.
Froggy said, "They are making an announcement about her announcement!"

  10. In mid-comment, it said my comment was posted, but I didn't post it. Hope it doesn't appear again.

Starting over: Deers' comments regarding politics reflect what most in fly-over country feel. It frustrates me that in states like Washington, Oregon, California, Florida, New York, Illinois Minnesota, and Iowa, the votes always go liberal because big cities filled with liberals cast the most votes. Those cities are filled with people indoctrinated by our culture (educators, news, entertainment). Andrew Breitbart was right when he said we have to re-take the culture if we intend to reclaim our country. I have no idea who will declare for the Republican presidential primary, but am encouraged to hear Ted Cruz and Rand Paul pushing back at the news media's "gotcha" questions. High time we have someone with courage pushing back against the "progressive" machine.

Eva, reading that you didn't notice no dishwasher made me laugh out loud! Looking for a new place is such a whirlwind. I'm looking now and made a note to myself to really pay better attention. Hope you and Joe love your new place and that our dear old man kitty will transition into his new home well.

Can I talk again about my job? Caterpillar postponed their survey of us until this Monday & Tuesday. This was a relief because it gave us another few days to get ready. I will be shocked if we don't get this contract. We are the absolute best at what we do!

The weather here is typical Spring. We had our 1st tornado storms last week. Today and through Wednesday we should have heavy rains but no violent storms. This is a good thing! I live on the North shore of Lake Hefner. The water level is so low that boats are sitting in mud along the shore.

I'm just puttering around and doing what makes me happy this weekend. Doing my nails, going to the grocery store, cooking, a little packing, watching cooking and house rehab shows on TV.

    Love to all Deers!

    1. Deer Surf, when the Cat people arrive, you can say you correspond with the first female Cat PSSR. ( Parts, Sales and Service Rep) It has been so many years that they might not know I worked for Gary Coker, Senior Development Engineer for Caterpillar Service Technology Group, I am sure they have since had other ladies, but I hold the title as the first.

  11. Let me start with this mornings Froggy-ism: "I used to like the name Hillary..." I Googled it. It means cheerful, merry and gracious. That's not the Hillary that we know and love (NOT!). If the GOP wants to get back in the winner's circle, we need someone Latino. Why else would obama let all of the Spanish just walk across the border? Everything he does is for votes. Everything! Though I suspect they have a way to cheat their way into the White House no matter who runs or how many votes the GOP gets.

Surfie, guess you'll be looking for a place ...with a dishwasher! We don't have many dishes at Froggy's. I do the cooking and cleanup. Seems that I use a lot of paper plates and bowls. It helps a little bit, but there still seems to be dishes to wash.

We saw the terrible tornados in Illinois. Pretty awful to look at. We got them in Denver. Was scary just to have the sirens go off.

Hi EC...Thanks for giving Surfie some good advice and support on her company's new venture. The prospects and possibilities are so exciting.

Nap time. I'll check back this evening.

  12. Very weird! My comments disappeared while I was still typing! I'll try again.

A late congratulations to deer 'Wog on her poetry. I'm so proud that I "know" you :)

Gosh but this moving business is exhausting! I keep making trip between houses and there's still more to go. Now I'm making lists and sticking them all over. I'm afraid I'll forget something. I can't believe we have so much stuff.

Tuesday is the big day. I'll be doing my usual trips back and forth and cleaning, cleaning the old house. Then, when Joe gets home from work, we'll head to the new house with Bambu. One way or another, it'll happen. I'll get back on from my new abode.

    Love you all!!!

    1. Hi Eva, thank you for kudos on bus poem. Yes, I am proud. Froggy was proud that she had such a "brilliant and talented" (my words!) sister! It was just a little poem, but it describes my daily trips on the bus. She said that now it's time to write something else. Froggy's know best!

So that blogger is such a pain. Every time they fix something, it gets worse.
