  1. Awwww! What a sweet picture. I like you, too! Nature is so interesting. While sitting on my patio this morning, I noticed 3 pairs of birds. Don't know what kind of birds, but it was clear they were pairs. The males had beautiful color. Anyway, the males looked like they were keeping guard as the females picked up nesting material in their beaks. When the female picked up something and flew to the nest site, the mail flew after her. Looked like he was guarding her while she got done what she wanted done. Interesting!

    1. Surfie, will you have such an interesting place in your new place? I love to see and hear the birds by our building. We have birds in our garden/patio area...if the crows don't come and take over.

Did you listen to the presidents speech? I tried but it made me sick! I always thought the president was the president for everyone, not just for their own party. Guess that was a dream, or rather, a nightmare. Froggy won't watch him either. So glad we sisters are on the same side.

Speaking of Froggy, she is on a new medication. Not sure how it's working. She is allergic to so many. She said that it made her diabetic legs feel better.

We have been watching all the news about the earthquake in Nepal. They may never know how many people were killed. Thousands. Sending prayers.

    2. Good luck today, Surfie. I hope you have found your new home. Months of looking is no fun, I assure you. What you've said so far makes it sound great!

Praying for those in Nepal. It's so awful and the number keeps rising.

  2. 'WOG says: Nepal will never be the same. Actually, I don't know what to say about a country that has been destroyed, and the astounding loss of life. And how many are missing never to be found?

Dr Sanjay Gupta travels to Nepal to cover earthquake for CNN - and ends up performing brain surgery with a SAW on a teenage girl crushed by a wall

    By Lydia Warren For Dailymail.com / 27 April, 2015

"The neurosurgeon, who is in Kathmandu to cover the aftermath of Saturday's deadly earthquake, performed a craniotomy on the 15-year-old girl, Sandhya Chalise, after a wall of her family's home fell on her as she collected water outside.

    (snip)
During the procedure, he was forced to used basic equipment, such as a saw rather than an electric drill, and sterile water and iodine from a bottle, rather than a proper scrub sink, he told CNN.

  3. The truth from Rush!
"Nobody is willing to stand up to Obama. Obama is left without restraints in violating the Constitution, from executive amnesty to the way he's done Obamacare. It's shocking. It's really scary to contemplate all the things Obama has done in violation of the Constitution with nobody objecting."

  4. I/we let Katie go today. She broke into tears. Took a good 30 minutes for her to compose herself to box up her things. Broke my heart for her. She is a good, sweet, kind, lovely young woman. We are downsizing our staff because of the economy and Katie is one of 4 who had to be let go. I will do my level best to help her find a job (and told her so). Please pray that the Lord opens a door since this one has shut. Please pray, Deers.

    1. So sorry to hear about Katie. You are such a kind person, Surfie,
to help her find a job. Bosses just don’t do that. You are right about
the Lord opening up new doors, new opportunities. You can attest
to that. So many wonderful things have come your way since you
      moved back to Oklahoma.

We Ponders are proud of your success!

  5. Deer Pond Family, I promised Froggy that I would tell you that her hands don't work very well, and that she has trouble typing. Doctor said that she has degenerative nerve damage. Not sure what that means. She has trouble picking up small items, but she can hold glass of water, etc. Things that are bigger. She just wanted you to know why she isn't here a lot. Sometimes she asks if I have posted some news, etc. Gotta keep Froggy happy. She is a wonderful sister to me.

    1. Both of you are loved so much by we Ponders. Many have said this before, but I must say it again. Isn't it wonderful that a group of people can feel like family with each other and will probably never meet in person? You are cherished friends, in our hearts and prayers every day. Love you!

    2. Hi Froggy and Wog. I agree with Surf in that you are both cherished friends. It is heart breaking to know about your struggles. We all pray for your health to improve.

  6. Blogger is making it more difficult to prove you are not a robot and post a comment. That's probably a good thing, but sure makes you jump through some hoops.

I need to talk about my job. In a word: STRESSFUL. April was a disaster of a month, financially. We'll be OK. Still, it was horrible. The owner of the company, Joe, totally "lost it" yesterday and took it out on me. I was out in the main office where most of the staff works and he started yelling at me in the most horrible, ugly, demeaning way you can imagine. Everybody went all "deer in the headlights" scared. I just stood there, stared him square in the eyes, let him vent. My intellectual side knew he was having a panic attack and didn't take it personally. My emotional side was furious with him. I had to keep going about business, but it took a good hour to stop being furious on the inside.

At the end of the day, after the office staff had left, I walked into his office and sat my scrawny little self down. He started apologizing, and could barely get the words out because he was trying to hold back the tears, which got me all choked up. Long story short, we had a great conversation about things business and spiritual. He is a very good man who got overwhelmed by fear yesterday.

Our day from hell yesterday wound up being a day full of blessings. I. Love. My. Job.

    1. Surf, you always seem to handle "situations" so well. I am thinking that your boss is very glad that he hired you.

  7. Froggy, you are always in my heart and my prayers. I miss seeing your name on posts, but I understand from 'Wog what you're going through. Luckily, you can still pick up big things. Adjusting is hard but if anyone can do it, you can. Bless you!

    1. Amen to what Eva said. It just struck me how picking up the big things in life is what really matters on the physical & intellectual & spiritual levels. If this doesn't make sense, just ignore me!

  8. I came to eastern Washington for four days and am heading home tomorrow. Weather has been great. My grandson is getting ready to get his driver's license so we went out practicing. Next month he will graduate with plans to go to welding school. Valerie wants me to come back June 1 to help here get ready for the open house honoring the grad.

Hope I sleep good tonight - long drive tomorrow.

    1. I have a happy picture in my mind of Grandmother Gloria practicing driving with grandson! You do know that welders are artists? Welders are a special breed and, if good at it, can command very good pay.

Hope you have a safe drive home and another save drive for the open house and graduation. Please keep us posted!
