  1. Hi Ponders...This is a pic of the famous Blue Angels practicing over Seattle. Weds I saw them from a bus stop downtown. They practice around the city before they do their show this weekend. Always a thrill to see and hear them.

  2. I'm back. Now it's late and time for bed. 'WOG is tired. Hope you had a splendid day.
    Goodnight all.

  3. I'm melting, I'm melting! Such a famous line, but so true this week.

Heard this on the radio last night (Does anyone still listen to the radio?)
They have an APP to find out what's wrong with your car. So if you break down, you can sit in your car, and APP will tell you what needs fixing before the tow truck comes.
    Amazing stuff these days.

  4. What a treat to see the Blue Angels practicing. I've gotten used to the summer heat here, but remember how miserable it was my 1st summer after moving back home from SoCal. We're only getting into the high 80's today and it feels like a cold front!

Happy to report that my son and his darling GF Lisa have safely made the cross-country drive from Berkeley to their new apartment in Manhattan. They have a ground-floor apartment in the Upper East Side, and they have a little backyard. He texted a picture to me yesterday of his view of the building as he sat, having a beer in the yard. Lovely, old brick building with lots of ivy. I'm so happy for them and this new, exciting new phase of their lives together.

I've been in high gear packing and cleaning mode. Get the keys Wednesday. Movers come Thursday. Really and truly, the Lord has blessed me again. After looking for 6 months, this perfect place will be mine. It should rent for $1200 but I'm only paying $850. The landlord is a dream. Honestly, I don't know why the rent is so low except to say it is a gift from God. Thank You, Lord!

Today is our company's annual bus trip to Life Church. We meet at work, board the chartered bus, go to Cattlemen's Steak House for an early dinner, back on the bus to the service at Life Church. It is a lot of fun for everyone and their families to get together in a social, nonwork way. For me, it is just a lot of work. It is like herding cats to get people to commit to how many adults, how many kids, how old are they, do they need a child's meal, how many high chairs and/or booster seats. Then coordinate all the information into the appropriate size bus, chartering the bus, coordinating with the restaurant ... like I said, it is a lot of work!

I really don't want to spend half of my day today going to this event because I want to keep packing and cleaning. You know what? At the end of the day, I will be happy. Most of our employees go to church every Sunday, but they have never eaten a meal at Cattlemen's because they can't afford it. It will be a good day. Just told myself to stop complaining!

Love you Most Sane Site Deers. Special hugs and kisses to Froggy!

    1. Good Morning, Deer Surfie...You are always so busy. Looks like fun stuff. Good news about your son and GF. Quite a difference from Calif to New York.

My notes are a little short lately. Always running for the bus. Sure miss having a car. Sis keeps asking if I could rent a car and drive her around. But I don't know if I remember how to drive anymore.

Phooey...are you getting some rain? California could use some.

  5. You're a good soul, Surfie :)

Talk about short posts. I just stopped by to say hi. Where does the time go? I sure don't know. Seems like I had more time to spend on the computer when I lived in L.A.

    1. Hi Eva...I try to drop by every day. Sometimes I'm just too tired by the time I get home from visit with Froggy. We are finally getting some cool days around Seattle, though it was beautiful and sunny for the Seafair and Blue Angels.

  6. I, The Great 'WOG, have today and tomorrow off. Still don't get to sleep in. Today I go for doctor visit. Nothing wrong. Just haven't been for a while. Isn't it time for flu shot?

  7. Great WOG, they usually start flu shots in October. Hope you get a great report at the doc. Can you sleep in tomorrow? How's Froggy doing? Any idea when she can come home?

I loaded my car before work this morning with things I didn't want on the moving truck. Got the keys to my new duplex at noon today. Went to the new place after work and hauled in everything in my car. Movers come tomorrow at noon.

It's been a month since I looked at this place. Honestly, I forgot how beautiful it is. It isn't palatial or anything. It is just great mid-1930's charming, has been well cared for. Makes me very happy!

I'm going to be a busy Surfie for a few days. Will try to stop in, see how our Deers are doing, and let you know how this move goes. I'm terrified that I've forgotten to do something. We'll see!

    Love you!

  8. Deer Surfie, I let Froggy know about your new place. She is so happy for you. 1930s charm! Doesn't get any better than that. See ya when you get settled. Love ya...

  9. I am all in at my new place. Am drinking my 2nd glass of wine, so remember that when you read about my life lately.
TUESDAY after work, loaded my car to the gills with stuff I didn't want on the truck.
WEDNESDAY, got the keys at noon. Drove to new house after work and unloaded the things in my car.
THURSDAY morning, loaded my car again and drove to new place. Unloaded my car while waiting for used washer & dryer delivery. They were 30 minutes late. Rushed back to the apartment to meet the movers. Loaded my car again. Movers were 1 hour late. Finally got most of everything moved in at around 5:00 last night. Walked about a block away from my new place, bought some sushi, consumed it, then passed out from extreme exhaustion on a bed with no sheets.
TODAY: Started unpacking while waiting for the cable people. Got my kitchen and bathroom functional before the cable guy showed up. He was the only service person who showed up on time! As soon as he got my house internet capable, I drove back to my old apartment and cleaned it. Took a couple of hours to clean cabinet interiors and surfaces, baseboards, bathroom, vacuum, etc. Loaded all the cleaning stuff in my car and drove HOME.
I'm HOME. I feel so safe and happy here. Thank You to all Pond Frogs who have held me in your hearts over the years. I have a lot of unpacking word to do. This is the fun part. I'm HOME!

  10. Good morning! Today is all about unpacking. And I need to go to the grocery store. I can't function without coffee and ice cream in my house. Met the neighbors in the other side of the duplex. Very nice couple, probably around 40. They told me that most of the people on my block are newly minted nurses and doctors from Oklahoma University Medical School. I'll be in good hands if something ever happens to me!

Also met the man who lives in the house next door. Very handsome (I think he's single) and owns the auto shop at the end of the block. I was wondering where to get my car serviced. Now I know!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
