  1. Good morning Deers!

Phooey, did we miss your birthday? I think you started another trip around the sun on the 27th (NCIS night, and a full moon). Happy Birthday!!!!!!!

I haven't had the time or energy to drop into my favorite blog in a while.

Deer Ponders, I really need your prayers. I'm 61 years old and at a crossroad in my work life. I, and every other member of management, know the "owner" of our company has completely gone off the rails. He is driving the company into financial disaster. He has not and will not now listen to his management staff. He does not know this: between now and January 1 his CFO, Operations Manager, and Engineer are leaving. The Operations Manager and Engineer are forming their own company and taking many of our customers with them. That will leave me as the only manager standing.

The "owner" is minority shareholder. His father founded the company and still holds majority. Dad will step in when it hits the fan. The thing is, I know how everything works. I administer most of it. Will probably get a huge pay boost to help sell or restructure the company if I stay.

On the other hand, I have been asked to talk with a customer of ours about joining them as their credit manager. It is a huge, very well managed company.

I'm leaning toward staying put, weathering the storm, and being part of a restructure. I pray for God's wisdom every day. Please pray with me for not only me but for the futures of our 35 blue collar employees.

Here's how sick it was Friday: The "owner" strolled through the shop, berating every single blue collar employee about how bad a job they are doing. He went to lunch, came back to the shop, and handed out cookies to those same employees, wishing them a Happy Halloween.

Seriously? Mechanics and welders are impressed with an insane person giving them a double stuffed Oreo and mini bag of sweet tarts in the afternoon after telling them how bad they suck in the morning? OY!

    3. I can't seem to make a comment without clicking on REPLY. Another STOOPID problem in the world. Blogger gets me nutty some days.

Just wanted to ask if everyone got all their clocks and watches changed this morning? Had to change the stove, the microwave, a couple watches, clock in the living room, etc. It seemed to never end. Used to have to run outside and change clock in car too. Don't know how pets survive all these time changes. They have to wait for their meals or get fed early.

  2. Oh my Lord, Surfie! The situation just sounds awful. It doesn't sound like there's much that you can do except to keep your head down. I agree with you that you should try to weather the storm. As long as the company doesn't go completely under, they will need you in the aftermath. In the meantime, you have my prayers. I know how much you love this job. Hang in there!

    1. Hi Eva, Hi Surfie...Not sure what I'd do if my job was in such distress. You might want to think about leaving if it gets any worse, and you have opportunities for something better and more stable. You need to do what's best for you, not what's best for the company.

If you stay, will you still have the same boss interfering with everything???

Whatever you decide, your Pond Family is with you. Prayers are coming your way to help you make the best decision.

  3. Good Morning Ponders, I finally found a Comment box. Too many mysteries in the world. It's Friday. I'm on my way to catch a bus. Only work 4 hours today. When I return, I have comments about all the political nonsense going on. Hope everyone is well.

  4. This morning I was in a rush to catch a bus and I didn't have time to write much. This evening it's dark outside, and cold, and I'm too tired to write anything. Will try to get back on tomorrow. Everyone stay safe and stay happy.

  5. Sunday in Seattle: We finally got rain. It's cold and dreary. Staying home and watching football with Sis. Our Seahawks are on a bye-week. But our Broncos are playing right now. Gotta run back to the game.
