  2. Just got caught up with everything. Surfie, you're a wonder. Very brave and I'm proud of you. You did the right thing no matter the outcome. Gloria, I always look forward to reading a post from you. We, too, have been going up to see the folks often. My in-laws have ups and downs and we never know what we'll find. My SIL needs to be sanctified. I know I couldn't do it 24/7. I'm nervous about Thanksgiving. We plan to go to some cousins, but it all depends on how my MIL wakes up Thursday morning.

Politics: I just don't know. I like what Trump says, but then he pops off with something like he'll run as an Independent if the GOP isn't fair to him. I thought that was settled already. I wish he wouldn't say things like that. Given what's happening in the world today, we should win 2016 so easily with any of our candidates, but somehow it doesn't seem that way. I think I'll wait a little while longer before I commit.

None of what's happening terror-wise surprises me. I can't believe we haven't had something big happen in the U.S yet. I know we have sleeper cells here and Obama will bring in more and more Syrians no matter what anyone says. It's a very tenuous situation and frankly, I don't think it'll be taken seriously until people here get blown up.

My niece has now hit the 38th week of her pregnancy. We are blessed that she came to full term with this one. Nathaniel thinks everybody has a baby (he's a little gender confused). He goes over to men and women alike, pulls up their shirt and says, "Baby?" Not sure what he'll think when his little sister finally appears. Due Dec. 7th and I'm going down Dec. 1st.

Love you all, deer Ponders, and I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  5. Something is amiss with BlogSpot. I've written two posts, and both were lost. So I'll keep it brief this time.

Love you Frog, Wog, and all Deers. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My big, rowdy family went to my sister's house (still under construction) and had a wonderful time. The rooms that matter (kitchen and bathrooms) are finished. Favorite part of the day was watching my 8-month old great-niece playing with her 90 year-old great-grandmother. Love those girls!

Eva, I laughed out loud reading about Nathaniel pulling up people's shirts. We've come from praying for his survival to knowing a healthy, curious little one through you. God bless Nathaniel. Congrats on little sister!

I didn't realize until Thanksgiving with family how stressed out I've been because of my job. The stressful part is done. Hard work is ahead, but I can deal with it because it will be honest. I never sleep more than 5-6 hours/night. When I came home last night, I slept 12 hours.

New day! It is bitter cold, raining. Fine with me. I'm making some soup and busting out my Christmas stuff. Love you Deers!

  6. Good morning! After sleeping 12 hours Thanksgiving night, I slept on and off all day yesterday. Can't believe how good I feel. Haven't felt this good in months. Yay!

It started raining Thanksgiving. Still raining. The light is just up and I can see what's going on. Trees are covered in ice. The bushes in my yard are covered in icicles. It is beautiful but also dangerous. My neighbor has a pecan tree that was planted in 1935. A huge branch came down last night. About 2 minutes ago, another branch came down. Luckily, they hit the yard and not our houses. Power lines are going down all over town.

Luckily, the pavement here in the city is still warm enough that they are not covered in ice. Good thing, because I need to make a grocery store run today. The store is only a few blocks away, so I feel comfortable getting there and back home.

What's everyone doing this weekend? I'm eating soup, napping, putting up my Christmas decorations, napping, eating soup. Love you!

    1. Howdy Surfie, we did the same...eat and sleep. I saw that you had bad weather. Makes napping more enticing! We are cold in Seattle but sun is out. So I am in a good mood. Going to get my hair cut today...actually as soon as I leave The Pond.

  7. Hi Deer Ponders, time is going too fast lately. Enjoyed Thanksgiving...and left-overs. Getting ready for Christmas and will remember Hanukkah too. Won't know what to do in January except try to remember that it is 2016. Everybody enjoy your holiday and food and family and football. Talk with you soon.
