To feel safe, we need to be safe.

There are no words for such sorrow

President Obama declared ISIS was “contained” Friday morning, hours ahead of simultaneous attacks reportedly carried out by ISIS in Paris left at least 140 people dead.

In an interview with George Stephanopolous on “Good Morning America,” Obama asserted that ISIS was not gaining strength and that “we have contained them.”

WOG says: Froggy and I are so sad about the attack on Paris. Again, our President makes our country look totally stupid and ignorant. I'm speechless at how childish the USA looks to the world...and to its citizens. I hope that allowing anyone to cross over the border from Mexico was worth the supposed votes he would get for the Democrat party.

Personally, I'm afraid to go to the movies. I'm afraid to ride the bus. I'm afraid to fly. I'm afraid to take the cruise from Seattle to Alaska. I'm afraid!

We have the TV on the news all day and it will be on all night.

  2. My heart aches for those who were killed, injured and terrorized in Paris. Political correctness is allowing these savages to spread their evil, unchecked, across the globe. Our President, political elites, academic elites, media elites all irritate me beyond words.

Here it comes ... I'm all in for Donald Trump. Please visit The Conservative Treehouse and watch the speech he gave in Texas yesterday. Watch the whole thing.

I want someone with intelligence, courage, global experience in business (which includes diplomacy, on that scale) in the White House. Trump is the only person running who fits the bill. I want the world to respect us and fear us again.

Speaking of courage, I took a big gulp of it and went to the owner of our company and told him what is going on. I can't sit around knowing of intellectual property theft and corporate raiding without saying something. Didn't talk to our daily leader, but to his father who founded the company and owns majority stock. Father is coming out of retirement next week, firing some people, giving his son (our daily leader) a dressing down. He thanked me. Don't know if he will sell or restructure. I will be OK if I need a new job at some point. The big point is that I did the right thing, scary as it was, and feel TERRIFIC!

    Love you Deers!

    1. Hi Surfie, I think that I'm a Trumper too. At least he knows how to run a business, and the USA is a business...run badly and badly in debt. No business can survive with that much debt and no way to pay it back. Not sure what Froggy thinks of the candidates. He monitor the borders, and he'll bring businesses back to the USA. That will mean more jobs. And please, make obamacare go away.

  3. Hi, Ponders. I have been absent for a while. Sorry about that. I stop by often to read what you have all posted. There are things going on in my family and then everything calms down for a while. I have been able to visit the grandkids a lot more than I have in the last few years. Just got back from a visit for grandparents day. I could live in their small town so easily but I know it would not work for Scott. So for now I will be content. I have offered to help my MIL with bathing once a week. So I actually have a job. Some other stuff has been going on and Scott has to step in and cover for his brother as needed. Scott is 70 today. I hate getting old I really do.

I have so much in my heart for this country that I cannot put it into words. I hope this country can hold it together for one more year. There is a saying......If you give a dog enough rope he will hang himself. Our President is payback for stupidity. Like Wog, I am afraid to go anywhere. There are crazy people out there. Somehow the whole world has to get mad enough, unite and to take them out. Our country is looking like a whipped pup. Shamefull!! Even Seattle just re-elected that socialist again. She calls herself a "democratic socialist" just like Bernie. (What the hell is that anyway - communist lite?)

I have been following what Surfie has been dealing with. I believe in you, Surfie.

My grandson has been going through a rough time. He started welding school but has been having trouble finding a place to live and been having trouble with keeping his car running. Winter in Spokane can be harsh. A one hour drive from home to school. I can feel his discouragement. Please pray for Luke.

This is my problem I either have too much to say or nothing.

    Love you all.

Ha Ha. I just about copied and pasted a recipe for bacon jam

    1. Gloria, so nice to hear from you. Bet it snowed in Spokane today. We didn't get snow in Seattle (yet), but it sure was cold. Anyway glad you are safe at home. I figured everyone is busy with Thanksgiving and Christmas and Hanukkah.

  4. WOG says: Couldn't resist posting this piece of news:

A candidate for the Minnesota legislature campaign ended less than 24 hours after a tweet expressing an unpopular opinion about terrorist organization Islamic State.
'ISIS isn't necessarily evil,' Dan Kimmel of Burnsville posted Saturday evening, when the world was still coming to grips with the Paris terrorist attacks that killed at least 129 people.

'It is made up of people doing what they think is best for their community.

  5. 'WOG says: So much interesting news lately! This mistake only cost $115 million!

The Air Force has been forced to write off a brand new $115million gunship after a pilot accidentally flew it upside down, according to a report.

The AC-130J Ghostrider gunship was taking part in a training mission over the Gulf of Mexico in April this year having taken off from Elgin Air Force Base, officials said. The pilot, from 413th Flight Test Squadron, was taking part in a 'sideslip' maneuver when he lost control of the 132ft-wide aircraft before it turned upside down."

    snip
A 'sideslip' maneuver, according to Langley Flying School, involves dipping one wing while pushing the rudder in the opposite direction causing an aircraft to turn sideways while continuing along the same heading.

  6. Gloria, you never talk too much. We are a little Pond family who love each other, encourage each other, pray for each other. If we don't write about our challenges and victories, how could we possibly pray for each other during challenges and celebrate our victories?

Everyone here ... how do I say this ... we all hold a special place in each other's heart.

    Love. The. Pond.

    1. Hi Deer Surfie, you said it so beautifully. You said why The Pond is important in our hearts. Thank you. I hope that you are doing better at your job. Let us know how your decision to stay is working. Prayers for a good outcome!

  7. Good cold Saturday morning Ponders. Wog, somehow the loss of 115 million doesn't get to me. It was an honest mistake. I tend to think small so 115 million is huge to me but in the scope of a military buget it isn't too bad. I am more torqued about our governor welcoming refugees into our state which could cost way more than a plane. Gov Poindexter is a real lunkhead!

Waiting to hear how Surfie's week went. Hope all is well. Our Surf is an amazing lady.

How are the Pond Sisters? Trying to stay warm, eh? The Lord really took care of my family during the power outages. Val was only out of power for 1 day. They are still trying to return power in Spokane. We were only out over night. There are still areas around that have no power. Wondering about Paget. This week just let me know how unprepared we are. Need to do better.

Thanksgiving is less than a week away. Invited to SIL's house in Kirkland, will go as long as there is no snow. Scott freaks out driving on the freeway in snow. BTW he turned 70 this week. I am married to an old man!!! In January it will be 46 years.

Phooey and Eva it would be nice to hear from you too.

    1. Hi Gloria, yes we are trying to stay warm. Froggy just wants to stay in bed with all the covers...and the heating blanket. Don't know how it can look so pretty outside, but be so cold. I found all our flashlights and put in new batteries. Placed them in handy places around the apartment...just in case the power went out. Need to buy a battery-radio too. Wouldn't hurt to add a few more canned good goods for emergencies.

I will make the Thanksgiving meal. Froggy gives me suggestions on how to do things. So together, we'll have something edible. We don't have to stuff a turkey anymore, so I just make a delicious stuffing and bake it. There will also be a get-together downstairs for the residents. So there will no lack of food and friendship.

What wonderful news from you and Scott. 46 years together! You may set a record among today's couples. Seems like no one stays married more than a couple years...if they can stand each other that long.

I know how Scott feels about driving. I used to have a Volkswagen "bug" in Colorado. I would go into a big parking lot and hit the brakes to spin around in the snow. Now I haven't driven for a couple years, and it sounds scary. Don't know if I can still drive.

Phooey and EC are the only ones to have warm weather this week. Hope they appreciate it...while their fellow-Ponders are freezing.

Love to Everyone. I know that our little Pond Family is busy with holidays, families, wrapping presents, and preparing and sharing special meals.

    2. Hi again Gloria, about that plane, there is a picture on Daily Mail. I can't imagine what the pilot felt when he was flying that huge aircraft up-side-down. And how do you get it right-side-up before you crash??

  8. Treasure trove: Farmer discovers 4,000 Roman coins in Swiss orchard
By Will Heilpern, CNN / Fri November 20, 2015

...But one farmer in Switzerland has hit the jackpot after discovering a treasure trove of Roman coins thought to be more than 1,700 years old.

...Some coins in the stash date back as far as Emperor Aurelian's reign in the year 274. Others come from the time of Emperor Maximian in the year 294.

...the farmer is likely to receive a "finder's fee," in accordance with Swiss law.

  9. Watch: Hillary Is Trying To Get This Video Of Comedians Making Fun Of Her Taken Down
    Posted Thursday, November 19th 2015 @ 10am by Hannity.com Staff

You would think after more than a quarter of a decade in the public spotlight, Hillary Clinton would have some thick skin.

Hollywood comedy club The Laugh Factory recently posted a video in which five comics make fun of Hillary Clinton’s wardrobe, her age, sexual orientation, the Monica Lewinsky scandal and the former Secretary of State’s relationship with her husband. The video, which is a little under three minutes long, includes comedians Mike Marino, Dom Irrera, Greg Fitzsimmons, Tiffany Haddish, and Brian Holtzman ripping into the former first lady.

The Clinton campaign was not amused.
