  1. Dear Pond Friends...below is a message from Froggy posted yesterday. I copied it here to be sure that everyone gets to read it. Sis and I love all of you. This week we celebrate the Passover with our Deer Eva and her family.

  2. Good morning, Ponders. Hope everyone is OK, too. How are you doing Froggy? Is your foot healing up?

Today is the Oklahoma Memorial Marathon (in honor of the Murrah Building bombing). I live in a historical part of the city (Crown Heights), and many of the beautiful streets are blocked off as they are part of the Marathon route. I'll walk down to the end of my street later and cheer them on!

Made sure to get all my errands run yesterday because driving anywhere will be a challenge today. I'm staying in, doing laundry and cleaning house and cooking spaghetti and meatballs. I haven't made meatballs in ages because they are a little labor intensive. They sure do taste good, though!

Interesting thing happened yesterday. I've been looking for some big piece of art or something to hang in my dining room. I didn't want to buy something from WalMart or Michael's, and can't afford expensive art. Anyway, I was at a self-service car wash yesterday. There, in the trash can by the vacuum cleaners was a HUGE, ornate, iron cross. It was dirty and crusty, but still ... I couldn't believe it was in the trash. So I brought it home and cleaned it up. It is beautiful, and hanging on the wall in my dining room. Why would someone put such a treasure in a trash can?

I am missing so many Ponders. Hope everyone can chime in soon. Happy Passover everyone!

    1. Good Morning Surfie...Froggy's not up yet. Gets up at 4am for a while, then back for the early morning nap. Seattle is cold and rainy...again. I wanted to plant some snapdragon this week. Will need to wait til Weds when I have some time off.

Taking Froggy to Swedish-Wound Care for the next three Tuesdays. They will re-bandage her foot. Doctor said it wasn't infected. just needs to heal. It's a relief to know that doctors are keeping an eye on it.

Hope are Pond Family is doing fine.

  3. Thanks for the Passover wishes. We were up in Yonkers with Joe's family this weekend and I was asked to explain the holiday. I mentioned it commemorated the time when the Jews were led out of Egypt by Moses. Then I told them to just watch the movie Exodus.

The other part of the visit that was great was that we all got to talk politics without offending anyone. There is one Dem in the whole bunch and he graciously absented himself from the table. Nothing like being able to talk freely. Unless I'm talking to Joe or to my father, I pretty much shut up.

    1. Eva, Must have been so delicious to be able to speak your mind about politics. We are surrounded by Dems in Seattle. I am usually very quiet.

  5. I'm gonna talk politics! I was very happy about Trump winning all 5 states yesterday. The astonishing thing is that he won every county in every state. That is almost unheard of. We had major thunderstorms and tornado threats all last evening. I clicked back and forth between weather reports and election returns until the weather threat passed and the election returns were settled ... seriously, I need to get a life!

Anyway, I couldn't wait to get home from work today to watch his first foreign policy speech. It is on The Conservative Treehouse, but you can probably google it. This is EXACTLY what I want in my next President, in terms of foreign policy. Please read or watch it. Then tell me if you agree or not. I'd really like to know how everybody views his positions.

I'm going to be involved in at least one more lay-off at work on Friday. It will be my assistant. Good news is I have a temp agency who can put her to work next week, if she wants to get back to work. If she files for unemployment, we won't contest it. The economy outside of DC is in the TANK. Life is stressful sometimes.

    I love you Deer Ponders!

    1. Hi Surfie, So much news from your corner of the Pond. We watch a little politics every day. Can't believe that Cruz is still going along like he has a chance. Picked a VP?? What's up with that?

  6. Deer Ladies, I will not talk politics here. Froggy's Pond is my place of refuge. If I say anything for or against anyone, someone will be offended. I have seen enough hatred and anger on Lucianne. I love you all too much. Thank you Froggy !!

  7. Phooey, you are so right about things going on at Lucianne. I respect your decision to take refuge from politics here. Sometimes, I can't help myself (so I'll probably do it again)! I don't care where anyone here stands politically. I love all of us!

We did lay off my assistant today. I've been stressing over this for days. This is her 1st job and she just turned 20. She took it really well, especially after being told the temp agency has 4 or 5 jobs she is qualified for. She cleaned out her desk at noon and said she was going straight to the agency. Called ahead and they were waiting for her. I bet she can start a new job on Monday. She came to us a teenager with no work history, and left us a beautiful young woman who is the best data entry clerk, best file organization clerk, and best customer service receptionist I have EVER trained.

I left work around 4:15 today. Thunderstorms and tornados all over the place. The worst of it has passed to the east of OKC. I got really worried for a while because a tornado and grapefruit-sized hail was headed straight for my niece's house. Thankfully the scary storm calmed down a bit before it passed over her house. She and her husband and dog and house are fine. She did say that her dog (Great Dane) was pretty glued to her the whole time.

It's that time of year in Tornado Alley. May is the big, bad month for storms like this. All I can do is be prepared with food & candles & flashlights & prayers ... and INSURANCE!

    Love you Deers!

  8. We all love you Phooey. You can't offend us. Surfie, our old home (So Cal) is going crazy. No surprise, but I hope people take note of all the illegals with Mexican flags protesting Trump. This is what the problem is. They only hurt themselves. I'll bet Trump garnered many more votes after watching the protests.

  9. Hello Ponders ! My right eye for close work hasn't been done yet, so still cloudy and it is difficult to type. Heard from Surfie, and she asked if she could let you know I was still a live and kicking, so I figured I better check in. I swim in the pond everyday, just can't post very well.
WOG, next time you are out and about, pick some BLUE-EMU super strength cream for Froggy, soothes joints, muscles and dry skin. It is not greasy and doesn't stink and gives INSTANT relief. My legs were not working, still need the walker for uneven ground but not using it in the house, a lack of Magnesium and B9 ( folic acid ), it's a long story but I spent 2 days flat on the floor and couldn't get up until DH got home and picked me up.
