Hot days at the Beach.

  1. Howdy Ponders...finally got hot in Seattle. Hot up this way means 2-3 days of 90 degrees. And it's not too bad today with the fans on. We don't have the humidity. That makes all the difference.

I couldn't resist a dig at The Hill! I'm wondering how the Dems plan to cheat their way into another presidential win.

Surfie says in the last post that her son and girlfriend are coming to OKC. She is beyond happy! Couldn't be a better present for our Surfie.

I hear helicopters outside. Wonder what's going on. There is a hospital about 10 blocks away with a helipad for patients. But this is different.

  2. Well, Sis and I survived two days of near 90 heat. Mon and Tues it will be 80s, and by Weds it will be back to 70. Can't complain about the weather up here...but I can brag a little bit.

  3. I hope we hear from Phooey today, Collin hit his side of Florida pretty bad.
We had gusting winds and rain but no damage, although Winter Park got nailed and that's only about 20 miles away. Froggy, I know it hurts but you have to use those legs, it does get better. I tried to post, that DH is home and surgery a success, he sees his surgeon for follow up today and then they will schedule the other side. I gave up on the posting after saying NO I am not a robot, and got these stupid pictures to click on. Hope it doesn't happen today. EC

    2. EC, I hate those stupid pictures too, and the "robot" question. I just don't know how to get rid of them.

  5. Hi Phooey and EC...we worried about you and the hurricane. Glad to hear that you and your families are safe. We love you both. Couldn't do without hearing from you.

  6. Glad to hear Colin didn't do our friends any damage!
Great news, EC, on the DH. Always a sigh of relief after an operation.
How wonderful your 4th will be Surfie! My dad, niece and family will be up with us on the 4th, too. I'm so excited to see the boys play on the beach!
Enjoy the temps, Froggy & 'Wog. Summer has arrived!

    1. Hi Eva, Yes, it seems like summer has arrived. In Seattle it can get snatched away at any time. So we enjoy the good, sunny days whenever they come. Stay safe and know that Ponders, Froggy and 'WOG love ya!

  7. It is so nice to come to the Pond and see so many friends.

How is it going, Froggy? Keep doing those exercises. I know it is a bother, but we want our Froggy up and running. Well, maybe not running. You know what I mean.

Happy to hear our Florida Deers made it through Colin OK. EC, good news about hubs. How are your eyes? Please keep us posted. Eva, how fun to play on the beach with kids! I am so grateful for the long years I lived on the beach, happily married and raising our boy. Make some precious memories on the 4th!

I just walked through the AirBnb I rented for Mike & Lisa while they are in OKC. OMG!!!! It is beautiful, perfect, and 6 blocks from my house. Don't think I will ever rent another hotel. AirBnb is the way to go. I'm probably going to visit Mike & Lisa in NYC this winter. Hotel room near them is $300/night. Great little AirBnb very close to them is $100/night.

Politically speaking, I am so fed up with the career politicians and news media trashing Donald Trump. It has been a real eye-opener to me to realize so many of those people I used to respect need to be kicked to the curb. Obviously, I'm not the only American voter who is loving every second of Donald Trump being politically incorrect. TRUMP 2016!

I just hope the GOP elite don't try to steal the nomination from him at the Republican Convention. Once he has secured the nomination, I think he will unleash the most brutal and honest and fearless attack on Hillary and Bill. It will be a bumpy road. Can't wait!!!

TGIF!! My work life is brutal, nail-biting scary. The economy SUCKS, and don't let any bought-and-paid-for "news" person or politician convince you otherwise. It isn't just in the oil & gas industry. Our customers are also corporate farms, global steel companies, global paper production companies, tire manufacturers, government agencies, etc.

If my company fails, I will be one of the last 3 people to turn off the lights and lock the door. I hope and pray this doesn't happen. If it does, I have a job waiting for me at the same salary I currently earn. I will be OK. Please PLEASE pray for my company to stay sound. You will be praying for the jobs of 25 people who don't have a new job waiting for them as I do. PLEASE PRAY DEERS!

I'm now officially in weekend, planning for Mike & Lisa's trip to OKC mode. Happy!

  8. My weekend fun planning mode was temporarily and terribly interrupted this morning when I woke up to the news about the terrorist attack in Orlando. I weep and pray for those who were killed, those who were injured, those who were terrorized, and all their family and friends.

This has to be stopped, and the first place to stop it is within the borders of the United States of America. Trump was/is right about a temporary halt to certain visas and allowing "refugees" into our country until we figure out who is who. He is also right about building the wall.

I think he may have won the presidency today. We are instructed by our "betters" to not be either islamophobic or lgbtphobic. When one preciously protected group attacks another preciously protected group ... what to do? Progressive heads are probably exploding today, and I welcome the conversation that must be had regarding this.

Rant off. I'm now back to playing in my yard and making plans for a wonder July 4.

BTW, Tuesday is Flag Day and Donald Trump's 70th birthday. I bought a new flag yesterday!

    1. Deer Surfie, We love you and send prayers to you and your company. I think we can use a new picture on The Pond today. So much bad news...will try to keep our Pond positive! It ain't easy some days. (Spell check didn't like me using "ain't.")
