~GOP ~ Trump looks Presidential~

  1. Texas governor burned in accident; could miss GOP convention
I saw this headline on Associated Press. Not sure what happened. Seems that the governor scalded both of his legs.

This is going to be a hectic week. I sure hope the GOP can get its act together and support Trump.

And we must send prayers to our police officers. "Be safe." They do an important job in our society. In downtown Seattle, 2-4 officers together ride bicycles around the tourist areas to keep everyone safe, and to promote some goodwill and sanity.

  3. Frog and Wog, tomorrow is Friday. all over the internet they are talking about a day of rage and Seattle is one of the cities on the list. Please be careful and alert. I hope nothing comes of it but forewarned is forearmed. The people that are causing trouble are nothing but anarchists. Be safe.

    1. Gloria, thank you for the warning. Froggy will be home, but I have to go out on the bus to Ballard...just north of downtown Seattle.

  4. Everywhere I look in the mainstream media, there are gleeful articles on who isn't going to the GOP convention, which big corporations are pulling out (Pepsi, FedEx), predictions of big demonstrations. On the other hand, I read nothing about the Dems. Are they even having a convention? You wouldn't know it from the media. It isn't as though there's not news. I guess no one is interested. Has anyone seen any speculation on who Hillary will pick for her VP? Or when she'll announce? Aside from terrible, tragic news, all anyone wants to write about is how awful Trump is. I bet he wins in a landslide.

  5. Eva, I hope Trump wins in a landside. God help us if he doesn't.

With all the horrible news lately, I'll give you a little ray of Oklahoma sunshine. We had a Black Lives Matter march a couple of weeks ago. Huge turnout. It was peaceful and respectful. Black people and white people hugging each other. Black people going up to police officers, telling them thank you. It was good. Really good.

I hope some nutjob doesn't commit a terrible act here in Oklahoma. What I notice is black and white people going out of their way to reach out to each other in public. People here are known for being nice, but there is a remarkable uptick in people of different races making it a point to be friendly and kind to each other. For example, there is a young black man who runs the cash register at the market I go to nearly every day. For a couple of weeks now, he says "Have safe day today, ma'am" and I say "Thank you, and you have a safe day, too."

Seriously, I hope most people in our country are like the people I interact with here in Oklakhoma. We good people with not a racist bone in our bodies are hopefully still the majority. We just don't make the news.

Meanwhile, please keep my nephew in your prayers. He's a police officer in Kansas City.

Gonna watch the convention and eat some leftovers tonight.

    Love you Deers!

  6. Well, I watched the convention last night. So encouraging. But true to form they are trashing Melania for plagiarism. What a refreshing thing for us to have her as first lady. Enjoyed all speeches. I would like to see Rick Perry put in charge of Veterans Affairs Rudi as AG and Newt as head of Homeland. We have so many good people that could use their talents for the good of the country. I will be watching again tonight.

I spent some time Saturday writing up comments but they went away. This time it was my fault. Haha

    1. Hi Gloria, you said a really important word..."refreshing." The Dems are boring, wasteful, and predictable. This country, and the world, needs some new ideas, new plans, new leadership.

Sorry Gloria that you lost some comments. Sometimes is hard to remember them all to write them a second time. And sometimes they come our better the second time.

  7. Gloria, I love your ideas about Rick Perry, Rudi and Newt. We have a lot of talented people in our party. The convention speeches last night gave me hope that political correctness is FINALLY over.

The big deal about Melania's speech just reinforced how STUPID, to say the least, our news media is. To me, it would be hilarious if Trump's son starts his speech tonight with some common phrase in our language like Melania used like "Fourscore and seven years ago" OMG he's plagiarizing Abraham Lincoln! LOL!

    Love you Deers!

  8. Hi Surfie, yep...I think the candidates have more important things to talk about than the veracity of acceptance speeches. Loved your comment about plagiarizing Abraham Lincoln. Brings a thought to mind: How long must a person be dead before you can quote something that he said? Why is it wrong to quote someone still living? Would Abraham Lincoln descendants be filing a lawsuit?

  9. I don't miss TV, watched the convention Live on CSpan with the PC, no commercials and no talking heads. Loved every minute and stayed up way past my bed time. lying ted is dead meat. Problem here in River City, the DH voted for Cruz and me Trump in the primary, is it wrong to gloat? LOL He had good Dr follow up and I did too, but have to wait 4 weeks for glasses, BS, I have an old pair of readers so am able to type. They can kiss my grits, when I get the prescription, I am going to my EyeMed place and the Eye center is not getting any more business from me. Too much BS to go into here but I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. My biggest worry is the Fraud of the demoncrats. I was a volunteer for True the Vote until my eyes went so bad, but still get emails from Catherine. Texas vote was a real disappointment this week, if the 'voters' are too stupid to get a voter ID then they are beyond stupid to vote. Will keep doing what I can, we found over 60K bad registrations here in Florida, the dead, moved or the New Yorkers that vote there and here. There is a reason why my screen name is Escaped Commie NY. Dh must not be too mad, he is making dinner. Love to Ponders

  11. Am looking forward to the acceptance speech tonight. DH and I have never disagreed on politics and candidates till this year. He is between a rock and a hard place. He will never vote for Hill. Ec, I know what you mean about voter fraud. That is how dems win elections. So we have to win big.

  12. EC, it is so great to hear your good news and have you back!

I watched the entire convention on CSPAN, too. It was a treat to listen to every speech without some talking head interrupting. Donald's speech was outstanding, IMHO. The outright hatred of Trump in many young people in my family is astonishing. Of course, they didn't watch the convention or see any of the speeches for themselves. Their world view is totally formed by what the media spins. So, I'm going to steel myself and watch the Democrat convention next week in order to be fully informed about what is said. I can't keep steering them into reality unless I witness it myself. Sigh.

It's going to be 100 degrees today. Again. I'm heading out now to go to the farmer's market before it gets out of control hot. Local tomatoes! This time of year, I buy a whole crate of them, make a huge pot or two of tomato sauce, and freeze it in one cup bags. Sure tastes good during winter when there is ice on the ground.

Hope all Deers have a wonderful weekend. Love you!

  13. I just could not stay up another night and wait for DT, figured I would get it on Fax but was pleasantly surprised to find the whole 4 hours of day 4, on of all places, TheRightScoop. Surprise because when Trump came out with "Build the Wall", the mexican female stopped all but the nastiest articles about Trump and even won't post Judge Jeanine on her blog anymore because she supports and is friends with Donald. I used to enjoy her blog but the bias is just too much. Surfie, our feels like is over 100 today, but it is Florida, so we are going to go see "Hillary's America" at the local theater, well 'protected' both of us carry and seating all the way in the back with our backs to the wall. It is pathetic to have to be afraid of going to the movies, such is Zero's America. Also putting blue painters tape in the back window of the Pickup to support our men in blue.
We will see how these 'distance' eye implants work, sheesh. They also have the movie about the Pets when the parents leave, can't wait for a light comedy. Happy Hopping, will let you know about the movie. EC

  14. I have a question to ask. I surely do not have an answer.

If a person were to be convicted of a felony and lost voting rights couldn't that person petition the court to have their right to vote restored. If that is the case and the person really cared about voting, what's the big deal? I feel like the whole thing is just another liberal voting scam.

  15. Gloria, you're right.

Surfie, hope you have a cast iron stomach this week. I totally agree with your point (we have to be knowledgeable about the other side) but I'm not sure I can take it. I get so upset at the lies. I think about all the young people watching and believing this crap and it drives me nuts.

Still in Georgia with the family and having a wonderful, albeit exhausting, time. The heat is in the upper 90's and the humidity is fully 100%. Walking outside is like being surrounded by a wet blanket. The kids don't seem to feel it at all. Little Tallulah is trying to stand up already and she has hardly crawled. I want to tell her to slow down. Actually, the one who really needs to slow down is Nathaniel. I swear that boy doesn't walk. He runs everywhere. Thank goodness for 20 year old nannies! Decrepit, old Meema sure can't keep up (especially in this heat). Isaac is as smart as a whip. They are all a joy and a blessing.

    1. Eva, I love reading about your little kiddos and the way they have blessed your life. The years are speeding past. You blink and they are grown.

  16. Packed house for "Hillary's America" Outstanding.
Today, Breitbart website has the movie, for free, "Clinton Cash", again outstanding. If we could only get everyone to see these two, she would be wearing an orange jump suit.
Breitbart.com is replaying it at 8pm ET. Sounds like the DNC is falling apart, ole Debbie washerwoman Slutz, resigned, the Bernie people are PO'd about the email leak and Philly is supposed to feel like 100, so they get used to Hades, I guess.
Eva, sounds like a great trip. EC

  17. Are we all HOT??? I think the only place in this beautiful country that is cool today is Washington State. Love all the newsy posts above. Thanks to Gloria, Eva, Surfie, EC for updates on political news. So much is happening that I can't keep up. Froggy reads me the headlines. I'm always saying that "I need to put that on the Pond."
