  3. Hi folks! I'm slow going this morning; it took me and hour and a half to sort out my new med. routine--and I've got articles to read, and Boomer pictures to put up and all kinds of stuff, appointments to make, write my doctor etc. so I'll get around to it all--give me a minute--and a coffee. I have to fit in exercise here somewhere...

Surfie, I'm worried about you being sick so long--are you okay? Prayers....

Hi, Phoo--nice to hear from you; I was as worried, as we all were. We miss you!

Eva, how's The Boom this a.m.?

Gloria, Paget--did you see the game last night? Wasn't it great! We can hear the stadium from here and it's wonderful!

Oh, and yes, with some granular filteration rate, or some such, African American people can evidently have higher values without it indicating chronic kidney disease than white people have (or vice versa), so they DO have a different scale for whites and blacks. They did studies where the number for whites and blacks that indicate, through long term follow ups, that trouble is brewing, is different. One's not better than the other--the ranges are just different. Given black's propensity for kidney trouble, heart trouble, and circulatory trouble, I'd say we have the best of the deal.

    I'll be back... lemmee eat...

  4. Take your time figuring every out. That stuff comes first.

You know, I think this is the first time I've even heard you mention the word, "exercise". It's great that you can contemplate doing anything like that and I bet it makes a big difference in how you end up feeling. I know part of what has made you depressed is the inability to move around the way you want to.

As far as Boomer goes, I realized last night that I've been trying to make deals with G-d. It finally dawned on me that He knows what is going to happen and when and that He knows best. I decided that while I'm going to keep preparing, I really need to let Him handle the situation. I keep wanting a definitive answer about how long Boomer will last. Will he be here when we get back from our trip? I'm not going to get those answers because no-one can tell me.

Boomer's senility means I can't go by any of the usual markers. I think he's okay. He ate a little this morning, used the litter box by himself, drank water and walked around the room. If he's doing the same thing on Jan. 3rd when we get back here, I'll be thrilled!

  5. Daddy Munk, my big oinge striped cat we lost in '92, came to my room--walking sideways with a brain tumor!--to say goodbye. He knew, and we knew and trusted him, and that day, he went to cat heaven.
18 years later, my Boris oinge striped baby cat was peeing blood and had been having lots of trouble. That night he came to my room and jumped on the bed--with a kidney infection and weak!--and came up to me, to say goodbye, and he, too, went to kitty heaven that day. Trust Boomer, hon.

Phooey, our phone is down for some reason, so... says all our circuits are busy, and then busy tone, then dead air...sigh. It'll have to sort itself out. Get some rest, hon.

  6. Thanks, Froggy. That makes me feel like he'll wait for us. I understand he's very old and I believe he isn't in pain, so it's probably just a matter of time. I just want to be around when it happens and not 3,000 miles away.

Along with my trust in G-d, I'll trust Boomer (but I'm also going to whisper in his ear before we leave so he knows when we're coming back).
