Good Morning!

  1. Good Morning Pond Friends..This picture was so cute, I had to write in right away. Hope everyone is having a good start to their Friday. It is still dark ouside in Seattle, but we have the heat on, and it is cozy in the house. Some hot cocoa would be a wonderful warming toasty first meal. Yep, I'm on my way to the kitchen to get started on that cocoa.

  2. Good morning, all! Woke up to sun and warm temps. Yesterday it went up to 81 here. Of course, I was in the car all day! My jaw ached once the novocaine wore off so I took a couple of Advil and went to bed early. Puffin LOVED that. Naturally, he woke up and wanted to play around 1am. Didn't settle down until 3:30.

Does anyone have an idea about what I can do for a swollen finger? It's just the top part of my pinkie, from the first joint to the tip. It's red and twice the size of the pinkie on the other hand. My nail isn't discolored. I loook as though I have a little red balloon on one hand. Should I just soak it in something? Hot? Cold?

I'm off to the shower and then to have lunch with a friend I haven't been able to see for about 6 months.

I'll check in later. Have a good day, everyone!

  3. Let's all send prayers and good thoughts to our Hiker today as she deals with another anniversary of the passing of her beloved husband, Joe. It's a tough day, but she knows she has the love of G-d, her family and friends to see her through.

    Thinking about you, Sweetie!

  4. Good morning, ladies. And, May the Blue Bird of Happiness fly up your nose!
Wog, it's going to get cold here also in 2 days (34 degrees). Ouch!
Eva, just thinking your finger can be used as a swizzle stick for margaritas.
Hikergal, mountains were given to us to climb so that we can clearly see the rainbows.

  5. Dear Kerry--We're all here for you and will remain. Joe is so proud of you and your family; you just keep climbing those mountain (you can just about see his feet from heaven ;-)

Eva--How did you hurt your finger? It sounds scalded, but you got to watch spider bites down there. Does it hurt? If it changes color or begins to hurt, or starts to travel up your hand I sure wouldn't hesitate to see a doctor. Soak it in cold and see if that'll help.

PhooBad--Where MY good morning? I deserve a bird up my nose too! How are you feeling this morning? Whatcha doing?

    Where's my Gloria and Paget?

I sure wish Magdalene would write...

    1. Good morning, Dear Froggy. I can't give you the bird! Feel ok and still scheming. Need to do some really serious cleaning today. We don't have enough storage for all the 'stuff' we want to keep!

    2. Froggy, I'm not sure how my pinkie got swollen. I woke up and there it was. The only color it is, is red. It hurts I think because it's hard to keep from banging it against things, or stabbing it when I reach into my purse to get something. Anyway, I'm going to try soaking it in ice water. The pharmacist told me that should help the swelling and if I cut myself (while banging it into something), I should put Neosporin on it. Maybe I'll wake up tomorrow and my monster pinkie will be normal again. If not, I'm definitely trying Phooey's Margarita idea!

  7. I checked in earlier and saw the blue bird and was going to comment but got distracted. Short story abut blue birds Joe and happiness.
We were building our "home to retire to" when he died.We had been working on it for over a year doing a lot of the work ourselves so we camped out there every Friday and Saturday night. That summer we had installed a special made front door it was 4 foot wide and we were talking about color schemes for the house as we stopped at a stop sign 3 or 4 bluebirds flitted in front of us and I said "That's the color I want, Bluebird of happiness blue" Joe agreed and so the door was painted blue. Now that summer after his death was tough and his birthday in July was hard so I did my usual and went for a hike. I stopped for lunch and what did I see? Bluebirds!Every year since on his birthday I see Bluebirds, I may not see them any other day but always on July 23rd I see lots of them even when I was hiking in the woods in 08 there they were! So you see I know he is watching over me Just as I know G-d puts those birds there to remind me He wants me to be happy.
