Have a nice Wednesday, Ponders...

  1. I hope you all have a great Wednesday--we've been so cold here! I'm really looking forward to spring. Do I get a cat report, ladies? What are you doing today? My tests went fine after we waited an hour for them to actually log our appointment in to the machine that does the test... I think I'm being introduced to the joys of socialized medicine quite rapidly, here... and they turned me down for an eye appointment.) Other than that, it's just very tiring traveling back and forth. Surely, someone here has had more fun than that--where's my Phoo?

  2. Let's all have a great Wednesday. Looks like itmis going to be cool and wet this week.

My son has a phone interview for a job today. It is not good for a man to be without work.

I've been up since 4. Peanut likes daylight savings time cause it's really 3. I wish I knew what is going on in her head. What a little weirdo.

Where is Phoo? Last he said was that he had been sick and that was a few days ago.

    1. I was just talking to a friend who also had a phone interview for a job today. It's in the PR and Communications field. I don't remember phone interviews happening before recently. Was this always done?

Anyway, my friend (who is 58) said it wasn't so much an interview as a conversation about how the company's hiring process works. He goes in for a 2-3 hour test tomorrow so they can check his skills in writing, editing, working up a PR strategy, etc. He sounded so depressed about having to go be tested on what he has spent the past 30 years doing for a living. Such is the time we live in now.

  3. IIt is always such a pain to visit a doctor or have any medical test done. I can only remember one single time in my 57 years when a medical professional didn't make me wait. That was when I showed up at the hospital, in big-time labor!

I have a prayer request. Think I told you about the girl in my office (Deena) who had a baby girl (Macy) 3 months ago. Macy's father was killed in a car wreck just before she was born. Macy was born with 2 holes in her heart and one heart valve that doesn't work at all. She's had one heart surgery but needs another one. She is 3 months old and has not gained a single pound. Now the medical geniuses have discovered that her lower bowels are deformed and she can't poop. When she is fed a bottle, her system can't process it so she throws it right back up. To make matters worse, Deena has been diagnosed with cervical cancer. Please, dear friends, pray for Deena and her precious baby Macy.

I'm grateful that my most serious health problem is allergies. It's been 80 here, high humidity, windy, the air is filled with pollen, my eyes feel like sandpaper.

I have the utmost respect for my friends here with serious health issues who just keep on keeping on! Keep on keeping on! You inspire me!

    1. Holy Moly, Surf! What a story on that sweet baby. Of course, Macy as well as her Mom, have my prayers. G-d gives some people such incredible burdens. Doesn't seem fair.

    2. Dearest Surfie, I am reading and rereading your post. For a young woman have so many burdens is unbelievable. I hope Deena has some family to support her. God is in the miracle business and brings us into contact with people who need prayer. I will add Deena and Macy to my prayer list and begin to believe for a miracle. Sometimes folks can get so down that they cannot pray for themselves just giving up.

Remember we prayed for sweet baby Eli last year? I just thought about him.

My cousin's baby was born with a deformed bowel. He was very little and surgery was done on him and that was 43 years ago. There have been tremendous advances made in medicine. God can fix all of it. Sincere prayers for Deena and Macy. I will be passing this along.

My son's interview went well. The next step is for them to contact him for a face to face. Wog, this seems to be the way things are done. Submit a job app and resume by email. Sounds like your friend has an advantage.

  4. I'll certainly pray for Deena and Macy--sounds like she's been through a lot just being welcomed to the world. When I feel my worst, I can always say that there's always somebody that has it worse than I do, and that I must pray for them.

I'll be home tomorrow, after another doctor's appt., by about 1 pm. I'll try and leave the phone on Phoo--I sure would love hearing from you. I miss you! I'm so nervous about my appointment tommorow, I can't even think tonight--I think I'm having a nervous fit. I think I'm going to keep a record of the contretempts I've had with state run medicine so we can devolop a strategy to get the most out of it without it becomming a major stressor in our lives... For us Medicaid clients--Obamacare is already here.
