It's Thursday, Pond Friends!

Me want 'em!
(I saved you one, Surfie.)

  1. Morning, Ponders!

Meant to get back on yesterday, but never got around to it. Mammogram went well (I guess, anyway. I'll find out in 4 days).

As I was crossing the street on Rodeo Dr., I could hear the two women behind me. One was telling the other how great she looked. The other said that what she was wearing was the latest fashion in Paris, very hot, the new color, etc. I was dying to turn around (but didn't want to get hit by a car). Finally, I got a look at this fashion plate. She was head to toe (hat to shoes) wearing a strange orange color. I'm glad I don't have that kind of money!

I loved reading yesterday's posts, asses and all! I feel bad that my baby Bambu doesn't have a vote. He & Puffin were running around so much a little while ago, they actually ran INTO each other at one point. Hard! That ended that game.

Looks like a gorgeous day here. Unfortunately, there must be a ton of pollen in the air. I have lost my voice.

  2. Hi hon. I'm terribly depressed. The Medicaid form we filled out, that 'Woggy's going to drop off in a few minutes, doesn't make it sound like I'll get my Medicaid again and I don't know what to do. I'll have no medical care at all. I'm just speechless...

  3. Froggy, I heard a comment this morning that some states have already put in place policies in anticipation of implementing Obama care. I wouldn't be suprised if our state is one. I am praying for the total overturning of Obama care as unconstitutional. The sad thing is that it takes to much time to accomplish the reversal. In the mean time people are hurting. So much damage has already been done to our health care.

I am sorry that you have to go through this. Knowing that you are suffering makes it painful for your friends too.

Continuing as before lifting you up in prayer. Hugs.

  4. Hi Ya'll..
I'm trying to keep Froggy floating on top of the Pond! There's always a way to get things solved. Just keep hopping!

I liked our Kitty Poll, but they all need a vote. They are all special to our hearts. They have their special little ways, and special little meows.

Eva, I read your story about Rodeo Drive. And I was thinking about the odd pronunciation of "Rodeo." Just wouldn't sound right to call it roh-dee-oh.
Perhaps we are overlooking an opportunity here. Could we open a store that only sells items of a funny-orange-color? LOL I'm happy if I have blue jeans and tennis shoes, and business clothes for office work.

Eva, Glad your day is gorgeous. I do miss California weather. Froggy likes the change in seasons. I just like the beach. We are getting plenty of season-changing in Seattle. Today is cold and rainy.

    1. I like that idea, 'Wog. Except that as soon as we were up and running, the "latest" fashion color will have changed. Probably something even more awful like Lime. She didn't look bad, but I can't imagine too many women can wear that color. I, for one, would look like a walking pumpkin!

  5. Thank you, Gloria--that was so sweet. You are the kindest person, always able to see into anothers heart. ;-) All you frogs are wonderful.

Oh 'Wog loves the beach, does she? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I'M the one that body surfs (or did)--she won't even get her knees wet after watching that awful movie Jaws. She was afraid of the little rays in Mission Bay!

Eva, you always give me a boost!

    1. You're right Froggy. I don't go in the water. The water is cold, and there are strange creature in the water that bite. And in San Diego, there is a lot of seaweed that attracts fish. I just like to look at the water, and feeling the wind on my face. And watch the sunsets.

    2. Wog in Hawaii the water is like bath water. Been there once. Soooo nice and warm. To me the Pacific is too cold most of the year even in San Diego. I would love to visit the beaches on the Atlantic side and some of the beaches along the Gulf. Nice daydream on a rainy day, eh?

    3. The only trouble with warm water is that sharks like it. I was worried about going in the ocean after seeing "Jaws" and I'm part fish!

  6. Froggy, when was the last time you were in Cali? We moved here in '78 and went back a few times within the first 2 years and a then couple of more times to visit. Friends and family have convinced me that it is no longer the same. I have NO desire to go back. We lived in Anaheim and Huntington Beach. I still have wonderful memories of growing up there.

    1. Really? I keep missing them. I saw Mom roll the eggs over and I saw the first pip, but I didn't see either hatch. I have to keep trying.

  8. Froggy, don't let the idiot paper pushers get you down! As WOG alluded to, if you keep hammering at the bureaucrats with the same determination as they hammer you ... they eventually give up. Go get 'em! (I'll be praying for you, too!)

About ocean water: The waters off the US west coast IS really cold. When I lived in SoCal, I wore a full wetsuit, even in summer. People laughed at me. I didn't care; wanted to be in the water and feel comfortable. Another place in the good old USA with bath water temps nearly year-round is Florida.

I'm having a great week, so far. Got a job promotion for a company I LOVE working for. I'm grumpy when the alarm goes off every morning. Once I'm there, I have a great time. I'm so busy, time flies by.

THE BEST THING was that my son and I got on the phone with each other yesterday and made plans for his college graduation on 5/12. We bought tickets for guests to Commencement. I was wondering about what hotel to book for myself. He said, "Mom, you have paid for this apartment for me. You are staying here. You will have clean sheets just like you always made for me. I'll sleep on the couch." Love my boy so very much.

    Tomorrow is TGIF! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Big smooches to everyone!

    1. Surfie, you have such a gem of a son! No surprise, though, with you as a Mom. That graduation will be here before you know it.

      Congrats on the promotion!!!!

  9. Froggy, hang on. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and don't worry about the end game. The situation will resolve itself. You just have to perservere.

I wasn't able to keep my mouth shut today as I went about my errands, and now my voice is worse than ever. Very scratchy. I don't know why this doesn't happen to the furballs. They're constantly meowing and they never lose their voices!!!

  10. Eva, that's a good question. Do furballs ever get hoarse? They can meow non-stop sometimes...or is that all the time!

Pond Funnies.. This is a video of people on treadmills ...that must be going too fast! I guarantee you'll laugh. Didn't know how to post the video but here's the link.
