Good Morning and Happy Tuesday!

  1. Good morning Ponders. Hope everyone has a really good day.

It may be to early for a thought like this but I am thinking that all of the focus on the Trayvon Martin case is really about gun control. Government control of everything. Any opinions?

  2. Well, Fast and Furious didn't work too well for them; I wouldn't be surprised if this was another stunt. Me? I think he's trying to whip up a real race war. The ensuing chaos is just what he thinks he needs; if people feel too unsafe, they'll be afraid to stir things up more by voting in a GOP president. Some people will be scared to go to the polls with all this mob violence--and it has the added perq of getting even with whitey. Those are all things Obama likes.

How are you doing, hon? Thank you for saying howdy; it's hard to be here myself when no one feels like writing in. You all make the Pond so special for me and The Wog!

I've got a jackhammer tearing our pool cement all day outside (I can't even really be on the phone, it's so loud) and they're power-sawing downstairs underneath us, so it's chaos here. I can't open the window because of the concrete dust--my COPD/asthma has really flared up lately--and it's actually hot in here. Oh, and they're putting in trash chutes across from our side of the building. There, those are my gripes for the day! ;-)

'Woggy was sick with a 100 degree fever over the weekend, but she's better now. I worry with her down at that vocational school. I get the feeling she's one of the few white people in many of her classes and she has to take 2 busses home. I've told her to be really careful--and to take a cab home if anyone starts yelling about Trayvon. He has relatives up this way (or they flew in) and they all had a tremendous march here over the weekend; it came down our streetheaded for downtown. I've told her she's staying home on Nov. 6, so plan to make up the work--and she's taking cabs both ways on May 1st. She's going to be 72 this year and she looks like a friendly puppy--NOT someone you don't mess with. I worry.

    How's Peanut?

Phoo, how are you? How are your treatments going? Everybody?

    2. Dear Froggy, I see my Oncology Doc tomorrow. Will let you know.
The apartment complex Page and I live in is 'mixed'. Many retired military live here. (Thank God!) None of us are 'Rambos', yet, I pity the poor bastard that starts something here! Wish you all had that comfort.
      Good night, dear ladies.

  3. Frog, what is going on on May 1? Did I miss something? Did you read my post asking if you want me to forward the newsletter from Fibromyalgia Network? It has a free article about morning stiffness. If you don't want it that is OK.

My SIL got here last night - late. He is right in the middle of tax season. He came over to complete the purchase of a car for the family and then right back home again. The car is an old station wagon that holds 10 people. The last of the Woodies!! I will make myself available to help him if need be. He rode over with a friend. It seems like there is always someone going back and forth.

  4. I gave up on my hotshot Beverly Hills doctor who is too busy to see me and found an Urgent Care facility nearby. I hardly had to wait at all and everyone spoke English. They were so nice! They listened to my litany of ailments, did a blood work-up and a chest x-ray. I seem to have a bronchial infection. Not full blown, but enough to make me miserable. The doc said he'd treat me as if I were a child and that way he could prescribe meds. Adults are just supposed to wait it out, but I'm so unhappy he took pity on me. I have to go back and see him in a week. I'm waiting to go pick up the medication now.

I already feel better just because someone checked me over and was nice to me. Kinda sad, isn't it? To be relieved by something that should be the norm. I walk in off the street and these people treat me better than the doctor's staff where I've been going for years.

    1. Eva, glad that you finally got someone to listen to you. Just finding a doctor that actually hears what you are saying is a plus.

  6. Danmnit, Phooey--where's my smOOch? I miss you!

Yes, Gloria, I'd love that newsetter--thank you for thinking of me. May 1st that awful Van Jones is planning his spring breakout of Occupodders to have demonstrations everywhere--he said 100,000--some in support of Trayvon etc. I'll see if I can find the article...

Eva, we've all been worried about you, hon. I'm so glad you went and got some good help--it's what you've needed. I've always got good, if not always fast, treatment at the Group Health urgent care... How's those nice boys?

    2. Phoo, you are hillarious!!!

Any person that lived through the '60's is sorry for doing something they regret. Fortunately most of us have changed and matured.
