Welcome home, Eva!

  1. Well, I had to go to Urgent Care last night. My back was completely tore up and would not stop hurting. At that time, I was infornmed that my medical insurance was being canceled as of July 1st... I was so mad that I told the guy at the desk 'don't vote for Obama! If you hate Mitt Romney, write in your uncle's name--any uncle--but don't vote for that bastard in in the White House!' He didn't seem to appreciate the advice...

I think this is the 4th time in a year and a half I've been switched around. With 'Woggys change, that's 5 times in one household. Geez! Now I have to spend the day calling DSHS and hashing it out with them (they're usually the last to know anything) and I can say good bye to PT for awhile. At least I know in enough time to ask my therapists for sheets of my graduated exercises in the interim.
    So, how's your terrific day?

    How's those yummy cats?

How's my Phoo? Please tell me how you're feeling? Did you give your daughter my email addy?

In fact, ALL of you need to make plans for someone to let us all know if something happend to you and you can't write in yourself. Joe, Surfie's sis? Paget's hubby?, Gloria's? Kerry, one of your daughters?, Surfie, tell us if Magdalene's okay. She may not care about me--but I sure care about her. I'd love to hear about evevybody else on my list of members.

Pick somebody and give them my email and tell them how important it is for them to tell us if you're okay or not. You're all so important to me and each other! We don't want to just have you disappear forever one day. Gad--that would be awful! Please tell me and say whether or not you want me to announce it on the Pond or write people individually.

I have pain pills, so I think I'm going back to bed.

  2. Yay for the pain pills! You'll sleep, at least. I'm so sorry you had to go to Urgent Care! Since you have so much trouble moving, I'm sure you wouldn't have gone unless you REALLY couldn't stand the pain.

Thanks so much for the Welcome Back picture! Guess what? I think we're moving East. Some things need to be worked out, but I'm 95% sure that Joe & I & the furballs will be heading to New Jersey in September. We've both had it with California and our folks aren't getting any younger. Also, now that my niece has one toddler, can another baby be far behind? I want to be closer to them. I'm excited, but I'm also terrorized by the thought of trying to lease or sell our home, packing up everything and getting us moved. Yikes!

  3. Froggy, I am so sorry you are having to deal with back pain on top of dealing with med insurance. People ought not to think that because they have insurance that it will always be that way. It can change over night. Stress doesn't help.

Thank you for being concerned about keeping in touch with all of us in an emergency. You have my email. I sometimes wonder what would happen if Scott or I passed away. Our family has gotten smaller and we hardly have any friends or family that we keep in touch with anymore. Morbid thoughts, eh? I can certainly see why Eva and her husband would want to move close to family. The future is in the children and young people. Look at the great time Surfie is having now that she has relocated closer to family and friends.

  4. Gloria, I was thinking about Surfie as I wrote the above. She is having such a positive experience being back in OKC. She may even end up with an NBA Title. After last night's game, I wouldn't be surprised. Anyway, change is always difficult, especially as you get older. I wish I knew how the election was going to turn out, but I guess it won't matter where we live if Obama is re-elected. It'll be miserable everywhere!

Froggy, feeling any better? I hope the pain pills are doing their job!

  5. Froggy, I am so very sorry about your pain and the crapola you have to go through again with insurance. The best thing I can do is pray for your pain to be eased and pray for your strength to make all those phone calls to get it figured out AGAIN! Please take our strength and love into yourself and don't let the bastards get you down! SURFIE SMOOCH.

Eva, it's exciting that you are moving back to be with family. I did it at the age of 57, on the heels of my husband's death and getting my son through college. Did it all by myself. You can do this! I dearly miss California, but for now am thrilled to be back home.

Emergency contact-wise. I have a note written down for internet savvy family members to contact this site, and a couple of others, if I ever fall ill or pass away. Do you all remember Struan from The Connection? He went quiet some time ago. One of his good buddies, CapMarineTet, emailed him and the email bounced back. Nobody knows if he died or just quit playing.

Froggy, about Magdalene: You know how bad I've been about reading my email lately. I am definitely going to email Mags this weekend and see how she's doing and try to have lunch with her.

I am doing some fun stuff at work with the Thunder vs. Heat playoffs. I'll tell everyone about it, but I got home from work at 6:30 (it's 7:10 now). I need to eat something and have an hour's worth of work to do from home. I'll be back in the office at 7:00 AM tomorrow.

    THUNDER UP !!!!!

    1. Surfie, didn't Struan go off to help his wife's cousin? The one who got shot a few months back? I remember he said he wanted to help the guy go through whatever he was going to have to deal with. It's worrisome that Cap's email bounced back, though. Maybe I missed something. My connection with The Connection has been pretty spotty lately.

    2. Eva and Surfie, that is just what I remember. We were praying for Struan's wife's cousin Marlene (the wife of the injured man.)

  6. Such interesting news from everyone today. I will drop by later this evening or tomorrow and say a proper Howdy Do. Why, you ask? Because I need to get off the computer and do my homework before Froggy catches me goofin' off!

  7. Thanks, friends--I do feel better--but pain pills make my spelling a little interesting LOL!

Where's my Phoo? How are all my cats?

  8. Hello friends,

Froggy, I'm so sorry to hear about your back pain and insurance woes! What is wrong with our doctors? You said it; preparation for Obamacare! I pray that Romney gets in, and follows through on his promises!

Eva, I'm glad to hear you're going to be with your family in New Jersey. :) How nice it will be for your loved ones to have you close by! :)

Froggy, you made a good point about letting others know to keep the pond friends informed in case of an unfortunate event. My hubby doesn't do much at all on the computer, but I will instruct him, just the same.

Daughter had an appointment today for an ultrasound. The baby is growing right on schedule at 14 weeks. She got to see pictures in 3D. It kind of freaked her out, as she said the baby's head reminded her of a Klingon! The nurse laughed and said it was normal, as the baby is still a work in progress!

    Good night ladies and gentleman,

May God bless you all. :)

    1. Paget, I just now had time to read all the posts. Wonderful news about the baby. I could picture it looking like a Klingon. Very funny story. I didn't know they could do the pictures in 3D.

  13. Hi Dear Pond Friends, I took the bus straight home from school. Found our Froggy asleep in the livingroom. She had a bad day, and took off a "sick day" from The Pond. I'll take good care of her, and let her know that everyone here is wishing her well.
