  2. Yes, you iz, little baby cat. I promise I don't see that sweet face of yours at all.

Woke up to a bright, sunny day this morning. It shouldn't be as warm as it has been lately, though. No winds to speak of.

Nothing special planned for the weekend. Just football.

  3. Good Friday, Ponders. It looks a little stormy out today. Typical Puget Sound fall weather.

It is less than three weeks till the election. I remember how very sad I was the day after the last one. I actually cried for my country that day. I knew where we were heading.

There is a saying that a man is known by the company he keeps. Look at the type of people Obama has brought into our government. If he looses all those people will be leaving with classified information and the taxpayers will be paying their pensions for many years.

Paget mentioned that she felt betrayed - me too.

    1. Along with what Gloria said: The owner of our company held a company-wide staff meeting today to tell everyone that he is cutting his matching funds to our retirement accounts for 2013 from 3% to 1%. Paraphrasing, here's what he said:

"As you know, a very big thing is happening next month. If it goes badly, my job will be to keep this company alive and make sure none of you lose your jobs. I've spoken with all of our customers. Every single one of them have plans in place to lay off people and either severely curtail or shut down their operations. They are not going to start thinking about it on 11/6. They are going to DO IT on 11/7 if things turn out badly. If things turn out well on 11/6, I will immediately restore my 3% matching funds to your retirement accounts."

What he didn't say is that, if things turn out badly, he will no longer pay 80% of their health insurance or 100% of their vision, dental and life insurance.

That's reality on the ground in the business world. I firmly believe it will be a Mitt landslide. But pray, Ponders, Pray without ceasing.

Now, aren't I just a little ray of sunshine? :]

    2. I'm so sorry, Surfie. If any of you finds yourself on Medicare, Medicaid--or the resulting hybrid with the coming Obamacare, we're learning tips with which to deal with the process. Let me know. And be prepared; I've changed doctors 4 times, plans, 3 times, and pharmacy twice (with another change in Dec.) in the last 18 months.

  4. Hi Surfie, Eva, Gloria...Froggy are you there too.
You know I'm busy at school, but wanted to drop by. Will write when I get home. Don't think we have any special plans. There is always football.

  6. I'm still mostly optimistic. I just don't trust Obama and the Chicago Boyz. I'm holding fast to the idea that the American people are smarter than the media think, but I get so nervous. The Dems are experts at dividing people, scaring them, and throwing free stuff at them. There isn't anything they won't stoop to.

Can all these horrific stories about the Middle East, the economy, gas prices, etc. really not get through? It's possible. A friend of mine was talking to an acquaintence(at the dog park he goes to) about how he believes Romney will make a wonderful President. The person he was talking to was horrified and asked why my friend thought so. First my friend asked if this man was happy with the state of affairs in the country. The man said he wasn't but that it wasn't Obama's fault. My friend proceeded to fill him in on how it was EXACTLY Obama's fault. The end result? The other man literally put his hands over his ears and said, "I won't listen to this. I like President Obama and I'm voting for him."

My friend was so shocked. He said this was a man in his mid-50's, not uneducated and who worked 2 jobs because one just wasn't enough to keep the bill collectors away. I told him there are some people you just can't reach.

I just hope there aren't a lot of people like that man out there. Or if there are, I hope they don't actually vote.

  7. I read something today on Drudge. Gloria Alred is going to come out with some bomb right before the election that will aid Obama. I never liked that woman she is worse than an ambulance chaser. Fox has gotten quite a roster of despicable characters they have hired and are getting air time.
