  1. Merry Christmas Eve! Going to a big family Christmas Eve dinner/party tonight. After midnight, a snowstorm is supposed to arrive. They are saying blizzard, white-out conditions with at least 6" of snow.

Looks like I'm coming home after tonight's dinner and will hunker down by myself for Christmas Day (which is fine with me!). My sister won't be happy. She'll want me to spend tonight at her house and be snowed in with her.

I'd rather be stranded at home. If possible, I can get to work the day after Christmas by our production manager. There are 4 of us who live within a mile of each other, and he'll ferry us all to work.

My son is on a ski trip in Park City, Utah. We're having great fun, him texting me pictures and me texting him back. I'll spend Christmas Day in text world with the boy, puttering around, cooking, watching TV.

Our brother is in San Diego for Christmas, and we 3 (me, brother, sis) usually have Christmas after he gets home and when my boy is here.

Maybe it makes me weird to want to stay home Christmas Day.?

    1. Home is the BEST place to be! We had our dinner last night and made up for our spare Thanksgiving: roast beef, mashed potatoes, apple crumb pie, egg nog, candy, celery sticks--you name it--yum! 'Woggy makes the best roast beef. I'm still stuffed--and always very grateful.

It's nerve-wracking waiting to see if we qualify for that apt.--wish us luck and may God bless you all ;-)

    2. Your dinner sounds divine! You girls are in my prayers regarding qualifying for the new apartment. I'll spend Christmas Day praying for you two and others.

      Merry Christmas!

Hey, Phooey, NCIS rerun marathon is going on!

    3. Surfie, I'm with you. It's so much fun to visit, but it's always such a good feeling to come home. Enjoy the family and food.

  2. We had about 3 flurries the other day and that was it. I don't know if we'll get more in New York before I leave for Georgia. Leaving Thursday morning. Tonight, I'll go to church with my husband and then home for the traditional Christmas Eve Italian dinner: fish and pasta primavera (no tomato sauce). My husband grew up calling it God's macaroni. My Mother-in-law just says to load it up with parmesan cheese to give it some flavor. Christmas Day is when they go all out on food: antipasto, ravioli, quiches, turkey, ham, and then desserts! This year it'll be just the antipasto and ravioli since it's just the immediate family. Thank goodness, because I can't eat that much.

Merry, merry to all Ponders and I'll catch back up with you all once I'm in Georgia.

    1. Eva, sounds like a wonderful, filling meal. Guess that all us Ponders will need to drag out our diet tips after Christmas. Enjoy!

  3. Merry Christmas wishes from me. Looks like I will be doin a little baking today and preparing a turkey dinner for tomorrow. Valerie and the kids will be calling me throughout the day to update me about the goings on. They have so much fun and excitement. Besides all that it snowed 7 inches on them last night. I really miss them.

    1. Gloria, sounds like we all have the right amount of food, and the right amount of snow. Have a good visit, and take some rest-time for yourself.

  4. Forget what I said about the 3 flurries. Snowing hard now. Very pretty! As long as it's gone by Thursday when we fly down to Georgia!!

  5. Had the best Christmas Eve in a long time last night. My BIL's nephew bought my parents house after they passed away. Greg and his wife breathed life back into it. Was wonderful to be there, with new life and so much fun. My parents are smiling down from Heaven.

It was predicted to start snowing hours ago. So far, we have sleet and freezing rain. The roads are like ice skating rinks. Snow is now forecast to start here in about an hour. We'll see.

I'm tucked in, have my apartment lit up, have candles going. Happy woman.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  6. We had so much fun playing Dirty Santa. Everyone had to buy something they would want themself, with a $25 cap. I somehow wound up with a Bobby Flay cookbook. Yay! My sister and I had so much fun with each other. This has been a blessed Christmas for me.

I pray the same blessings for my dear friends here: Froggy, Wog, Eva, Gloria, Phooey. May our Lord bless you this day and in the coming new year.
