  1. Get up Ponders,
The day is happening! You don't want to miss anything. Tonight is Honey Boo Boo on TV. Phooey, do we have NCIS today? I already found a couple of newsy stories for The Pond.

  2. TOO MANY RULES THAT WE DON'T NEED:

Boston man says US flag will stay despite fines

A Boston man says he has no plans to remove the 6-foot-by-10-foot U.S. flag hanging in the window of his condominium, even though management is threatening to fine him $25 a day for breaking its "white curtains only" rule.

Mark DiGiovanni tells the Boston Herald he was given a "gentle reminder" on Monday from the company that manages the building in the Fort Point neighborhood that he'd start accruing the penalty Tuesday for breaking a rule that requires residents to have only white curtains in their windows.

The 52-year-old facilities manager says the law is on his side, pointing to the 2005 federal Freedom to Display the American Flag Act. He told the paper that the flag is in the window to honor his five uncles that served in World War II.

Condo association trustee Sean McGrail says management was reacting to a complaint and has accused DiGiovanni of "fake patriotism."

  3. FASCINATING STORY:

Amnesiac Navy vet who woke up speaking Swedish moves to Sweden

A man who was found unconscious in a California motel and woke speaking only Swedish, with no memory of his past, has arrived in Sweden.

The Desert Sun reports 61-year-old Michael Boatwright was greeted by Ewa Espling, a Swedish woman he dated in the early 1980s.

Public records show Boatwright lived in Sweden on and off between 1981 and 2003. He is a Navy veteran who served in Vietnam.

Boatwright was discovered in a motel room in Palm Springs in February. He referred to himself as Johan Ek, but authorities found ID that identified him as Michael Boatwright.

In March, doctors diagnosed him with Transient Global Amnesia, a condition triggered by trauma that can last for months.

The rare mental disorder is characterized by memory loss, “sudden and unplanned travel,” and possible adoption of a new identity.

  4. Hi Wog. Hi Ponders.

Wog, you certainly had a rough time getting home last night. I am such an impatient type of person and I hate waiting - I would be a wreck.

I had a chance to spend some time with each of my grand kids recently. Sophia is my child of faith. I am constantly amazed at her spiritual maturity. I shared with her about our Froggy breaking her leg and about how difficult it has been for her to heal and to please remember her in prayer. Well, Sophie sent me an email that I want to share.

This is for our Froggy (Lori) from Sophie.

I found this prayer from Pocket Prayer iPhone app and think it's worth to share with you

    Healing

Lord, You are my healer. I pray that Your Holy Spirit will heal (name any part of your body where by you need the Lord to heal you) completely. Lord, strengthen my body and heal me today. Forgive me for my little faith towards Your healing. Lord, remind me everytime when I am sick or injured that You are always there to heal me. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

    God's Promise:
Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.
    Jeremiah 17:14

What 9 year old thinks like this? She makes me so proud.

    2. Deer Gloria, regarding Sophia:

"Do you hear what these children are saying?" they asked him. "Yes," replied Jesus, "have you never read, "'From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise'?".....Matthew 21:16

    3. Phoo, I am constantly amazed by her. I have felt she has a call on her life. It will be fun for me to see how it unfolds as she grows up. She wants to me a missionary.

  5. Gloria, this is my last note this morning before I make the bus-run.
What a beautiful prayer. I will tell Froggy. It will make her feel better to know how much and how often her friends think of her.

    Thank you, Gloria.

  11. I can't make any comments. I'm laughing too hard.

Froggy wheeled herself down to physical therapy, and they said she wasn't on the schedule for today. So we went back to her room, and Froggy, me, and her roommate all took a nap. Very peaceful day.

Before I forget, Labor Day there is an NCIS marathon.

I took an earlier bus home today. That worked much better. It wasn't dark outside yet, and I have a little bit of an evening.
