Grumpy Cat should make you
feel better!

  1. Morning Ponders. I love Grumpy cat. Grumpy's owners have said the cat is really very sweet. He or she just has a natural perpetual scowl on it's face.

    1. Hi Gloria...
Grumpy seems like such a wonderful little guy. He has a brother, Pokey, too. Pokey is black and white. I'm getting ready to get on the bus to Federal Way. I have come earlier on Sat and Sun because the buses run slower. Looks like a really nice day today in Seattle.

  2. Here is something I wanted to share.

My husband's great great aunt was Clara Maas. She was instumental in the early research done about yellow fever. Worked with Walter Reed in Cuba. She allowed herself to be bitten by the mosquitoes that cause the fever. She recovered a few times but eventually died from yellow fever. In the early '70s there was a US postage stamp issued with her picture and there is a hospital named after her in New Jersey. You can read about her on Wikipedia. This is my closest brush with fame and only by marriage.

    1. Gloria, what a wonderful story. I can see this as a movie. Is there at least a book? I'll check Wikipedia this evening.

  3. Here's something fun to get you in the mood for Halloween: auditions for haunted houses.

  4. Froggy's fine. Uncomfortable, but doing okay. I did exercises with her today as there is no therapy on the weekend. We lifted weights. Then she sits in wheelchair, and does a few kinds of exercises for her leg.

I'm leaving Grumpy Cat up for the weekend.

  5. I love Grumpy Cat! What a face.

Tell Froggy to keep on keepin' on, as we used to say. Gotta keep moving forward. Moving backward makes you like Obama.

My, what drama has this guy created! How embarrassing for the country. After his about-face in the Rose Garden, he goes golfing. Our allies are in shock and our enemies are emboldened. Unbelievable!

I'll be packing and cleaning through the weekend. Losing internet access sometime Wednesday afternoon. Movers come Thursday and we're off on Friday morning. I'm still working on our route, but it pretty much follows the old Route 66 until we head east. Surfie, I'll be sure to wave as we drive through OKC.

On top of all the humiliating international news this weekend, my Georgia Bulldogs lost their opening game to Clemson last night 38-35. Of course, it had to be on TV.

    1. Hi Eva,
I am at care center with Froggy. We did exercises together, and now she is napping. Eva, we'll surely miss you while you are off-line. Have a safe trip and get back as soon as you can. This will quite a change for you and Joe and the babies. We'll be here for you. I thought Georgia played yesterday, but I couldn't find the game when I got home.

Politics is scary right now. I don't think we should be in Syria or any country where there is war. Syria is a really big country next to Afghanistan and Iraq. We need to bring our troops home. They should have come home years ago.

    2. Eva, this is a new adventure for you and Joe! Of course I don't envy you the unpacking chores, etc., but it's the next chapter in your lives together, and I think it's exciting. :) Have a safe trip!

    3. Wog, It's so nice that you have computer access at Froggy's care center. I'm glad she's doing her exercises, as that's the quickest way to heal.

This three day weekend is turning into a restful time for me, as I seem to have caught an intestinal flu from my co-worker. :( I'm not too miserable - I just can't leave the house. I think Phooey had a bug a couple weeks ago? It seems to be making the rounds. If I'd know my co-worker was contagious, and not just suffering from morning sickness, I would have stayed at a distance!

Today I started reading Mark Levin's "Liberty Amendments" on my Nook. It's very interesting. Also, very intellectual. Thank goodness the Nook comes with access to an online dictionary. I can't get through even one page without looking up at least one word! Maybe reading his book will raise my IQ. HAHA, I wish! :)

I'm going to sign off now, and delve into his book.

      Good night deer ponders!

May God bless all of you. :)

  6. Howdy Ponders...
I'll need to put a reminder in the morning to check the last posts from day before.

I'm sure Eva and Joe are wrecks. "Babies" probably don't know yet...but suspect that something is not right. Eva, Happy Rosh Hashanah. Shana Tova.

I solved the unpacking dilemma. I don't unpack! I did better on this last move, but we still have a few boxes still packed. I'll try to get them done before Froggy comes home. I want her to be glad to come home. And she needs a safe environment so she doesn't fall over boxes.

Paget... Flu? Glad you didn't get a bad case. Whatever kind of flu it is, guess it's time for those flu shots. I can get one, but Froggy is allergic. Go figure! You would think being sisters that we'd be allergic to the same things. Sounds like you got some interesting reading. If I read any book by Anne Rice, I write words on the top of the pages that I don't understand. Froggy's the one with the big vocabulary.

  7. Wog, have you ever said what caused Froggy's accident? Did I miss it? I have been wondering what caused her to fall. I am so glad you were close by and she wasn't alone for long. How much longer will she be at the care center? Will there be someone to come in to help when she comes home?

  8. I've packed all the lamps. It's dark in here. We have 2 rooms that have no lighting unless there's a lamp. Should be an interesting few days. Puffin just curls up in his comforter and sleeps all day. Bambu is getting nervous. I hate putting them through such a change at their age.

I'll be back on tomorrow. Give Froggy my love and wish her a happy Rosh Hashana, 'Wog.

  9. Your babies will be fine. Don't lose 'em! If you leave Wednesday, when will you get to the new place?

Can't keep my eyes open. 'Night all. Be safe.

  10. Good morning!

Eva, I can just imagine you, Joe and the babies living like you're camping out. I spent my last night in L.A. sleeping on the floor because all the furniture was shipped that morning. Guess you'll head east on I-40, at least through OKC. If you have an emergency or need anything while you're in my neck of the woods, give me a call. Email me and I'll give you my phone #'s. surfinghome@gmail.com

Wog, how are you and Froggy doing? How is everyone else doing?

I'm starting my 3rd day of doing a whole lot of nothing. The NCIS marathon just started. I'm watching, cooking, taking a bubble bath, doing my nails, generally puttering around.

Hope all Deer Ponders have a wonderful day!

  11. Eva, it may sound odd but I envy you for the "adventure" you and Joe are starting. Everything is a new experience. There is a whole lot of country between the West Coast and the East Coast. We will all be praying for you and hope you will have a chance to post somewhere on the way. Most hotels have WIFI and many have computers available. Do you have calm down meds just in case for the little boys?

  12. Yea!!!! Today is the last day of the fair. For 2 weeks we have to adjust our schedules and driving routs to avoid the fair traffic. Tomorrow is back to normal. We live just up the hill from Evergreen State Fairgrounds. The neighbors have to be looking out for suspicious people hanging around like the 2 guys wandering around with backpacks and hiding in the bushes. Sheriff was called on that one. Every year it's the same thing, just glad it is over.
