HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FROGGY

26 comments:

  1. It was wonderful to hear from Froggy, Paget and Eva. Froggy, chiming in here with Eva that you are feeling medium and hope it turns in to good. Paget, your life is so full. Enjoy, deer. Eva, what a picture I have in my head of your father and Nathaniel. Life does keep on turning, turning, turning. Glad you're back home safe and sound.

Froggy's Pond is on my patio! I went to a neighborhood garage sale this weekend. Bought a lot of treasures, but the best one is what used to be a table-top fountain. It has a deep basin shaped like a pond. A pillar comes up in the center ... the water used to flow through the pillar through a flower and onto a lily pad. Carved into the stone next to the flower is a frog. It now sits on my little patio table. I'm going to plant something in the basin, but don't know what yet. I spend a lot of time on my patio, playing around in my little apartment garden, sitting on the vintage patio chairs given to me by my good friend Karen, and now looking at The Pond (and sending prayers and blessings to all Deer Ponders) every day.

Life's little pleasures are sometimes the best ones.

Whatever happened to Spring? We have gone straight from freezing temps at night to upper 90's today and the foreseeable future. And today the USGS issued an earthquake warning for central Oklahoma. We have so many little earthquakes every day, and they think this is a pattern. We'll see. So long as a quake isn't over 6.0 and isn't underneath my feet, I'm good to go!

Please say a prayer for Mags tonight. She has a DR appointment tomorrow.

    Love you Deers!

  2. I can just imagine your patio, Surfie, and it sounds blissful! On the other hand, I read about OKs multitude of earthquakes lately. They seem to have followed you from CA! Be careful.

Mags is in my heart as well as my prayers. I hope she lets us know how the doc visit went.

  3. Hi Ponders, checking in. We met with the surgeon yesterday, she is wonderful, warm, competent, down-to-earth and very understanding. We all liked her. She has set a time for surgery for Monday, May 19 at 9 am. The plan is to do a bilateral mastectomy. In the meantime she ordered a PET scan to determine if there is any spread to bones or organs. If there is, the surgery will probably be just to install ports through which to do chemo - what they call neo-adjuvant chemo, to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors, before a later mastectomy date.
It still seems very unreal - like it's happening to someone else. At some point it will hit me, and it probably won't be pretty.
Surfie, you may need to be doing some maintenance on the garden for a few weeks, I know how much you hate that (not!). Hope you'll poke your head in from time to time.
Thanks everyone for all the prayers. We have every color of the faith spectrum covered I think, Sisters of Mercy lighting candles, Baptists and evangelicals, even one of hubs' team members, who is Muslim, said he is praying for me ("Is that a good thing?" I asked him). I don't seem to be able to pray these days beyond just "help!" Hubs holds my hand and prays with me every day. He's the best. Anyway, thank you all. Love you muchly.

    2. I will absolutely be around to help take care of that sweet garden! My parents were raised Pentecostal Holiness then rebelled and joined the Baptist church. Spent a lot of my adult life exploring every faith known to mankind and finally settled on just my own faith and personal relationship with Almighty God and my Lord Jesus. You know you are in my prayers.

Ponders, please keep Mags' husband in your prayers, too. He is a wonderful, wonderful man. Please send him your strength.

    5. You've got us all on Prayer Alert, Mags! For your whole family and we'll be here throughout your ordeal.

I've recently been through this with a friend who practically said the same words you wrote. He said he watched his oncologist's lips move as he and his wife were told about his diagnosis, surgery, and prospects, and felt as though he had entered a surreal world. "This can't be me he's talking about," he thought. "I'm watching a movie." I don't think that feeling will leave you anytime soon. I think it's a symptom of shock and I think it's very necessary. Do your best to continue with as normal an existence as possible and let the professionals deal with your disease. G-d will do everything else. I truly believe that. We'll help with encouragement :)

  6. A few weeks ago we did a favor for one of my son's friends by dog sitting over a weekend. I took a lot of responsibility myself. I walked him 3 times a day and gave him plenty of attention and even let him come inside with me while Steve was at work. This is my reward - FLEAS! Our cat has never had fleas and is an indoor cat. I am out the door this morning to the pet store.

    No good deed goes unpunished.

Love Surfie's "pond'--careful! we are there, hopping. Gloria drive safe. Loved hearing from Paget. If she only knew how much we love her... Eva, how are you? We FINALLY scraped up to 80 degrees one day--I'm freezing! Spring? where are you? Where's our EC? I'm afraid she's starting to hop. Maggie are you hopping yet? All frogs do... Love you all. 9. Gloria, use diatomacous earth, but need Food Grade so it doesn't harm pets or humans, the stuff Lowes, etc sells for pools is not food grade. Any bug with a skeleton, spiders, ants, roaches, fleas, will be killed. Attercliffe put me on to it, use is all over, inside and out, it's a white powder
www.earthworkshealth.com has human uses too, but since I store it in the garage, haven't gone that far, taking care of bugs in Florida is a blessing, I will stick to my vitamins.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROGGY, wish I could post the TeaCart, but I did send it to Wog, so take a look and sip, 56 ! you are still a baby !!

  11. Hello Mags,

I was so sorry to hear your news. I'm sending you healing Methodist prayers from Washington state.

Five years ago my hubby's wonderful aunt had the same surgery. She is 73 now, and is doing fine. I wanted you to know that you aren't alone. Your husband sounds very supportive and kind. It's so great that you have him by your side. That is a blessing, for sure!

Love and prayers for all the ponders, from Paget.
