Thank you, Eva. Wonderful pictures!

  1. Thank you, Eva. He's getting so big. Love the smile. Nathaniel is a much-loved baby.

I didn't mean to post it today. I tried and tried to get the pictures up, and couldn't do it. Then all of a sudden they were there. I didn't want them to disappear, so I went ahead and posted them. Our Pond Family will really like these.

  4. Maybe the third time will be the charm. I've been trying to post all day. 'Wog knows because I emailed her my thanks for putting the pics up. I'll try again.

Looking at the picture of Nathaniel in the shopping cart makes it hard to believe that he was once labeled a micro-preemie and given a 50% chance of survival. Now, at his last doctor visit, the pediatrician said, "No more preemie. We see him from this point on as a normal baby." Definitely, a time for celebration. He has 2 teeth in on the bottom and 3 coming in on top. He babbles constantly and eats up a storm. My heart is truly full :)

    1. Eva, who is that holding Nat?
I love seeing him in the shopping cart sitting up like a big boy.

    2. My niece, his Mom. It's one of her favorite pictures. It was taken the day she brought him home. He was so small and his hands were stayed in that curled up form for weeks. Now he's holding on to the shopping cart :) And he has some strong grip, let me tell you! His latest activity is waving. If someone waves at him, he waves back. Of course, we spent the holidays waving like mad at him just to see him wave back.

  6. I was going to post 'precious' but see I am late to the game, what a beautiful little boy. We are all truly blessed to have this little guy with us. Hugs.

  7. Good Morning Ponders, Such sad news in Paris. I don't want to turn on the news. I took Froggy to emergency yesterday (Thursday). Her sodium was sinking fast, and she fell getting out of bed. She's okay, but will need to stay at hospital a couple days. The real surprise was that her doctor was on duty when we got to her room.

    1. Sorry to hear our Miss Froggy is having problems. I wonder why her sodium keeps doing that. Hope the can get her back into balance soon.

  8. How is Froggy today? I know she hates having to be in the hospital. We're thinking and praying for you both.

  9. Good morning all. How are you doing, Froggy? Hope you're back home and feeling better. Much love, virtual hugs, and real prayers for you today!

What a treat it is to see little Nat! We all remember the touch-and-go days after his birth. Seeing him strong and healthy makes my heart sing!

My life is so busy, there truly are not enough hours in a day. I was so hopeful with my new assistant at work. She came in all motivated and working hard, but started going downhill after her 90 day raise in pay. Fired her Thursday. Am looking at resumes on Indeed and have found some promising ones. Will be very slow to hire someone new. In the meantime, I'm doing her job as well as mine. Good thing I love my job!

On the other hand, with the drop in oil prices, a lot of our big customers are cutting back, which means in a month or so my workload will drop off. The best guess is that the economy in oil producing states will go into the tank until about June, then rebound. It will take another 6 months to bring everything back up to speed. So, we're looking at a bad year here in the oil production world. Our goal is to not have to lay anyone off. Thank God I have sterling job security.

You know I've been looking for a new place to live. Looked at several places yesterday, and more today. These places have been on the market for months, but I thought they were overpriced. With the local economy suffering, the rents are dropping and I'm willing to pay the new, lower amount. Lower gas prices at the pump are fantastic for the economies of non-oil producing states. Horrible for states whose economies are built on oil & gas production.

The news from Paris is gut-wrenching. Political correctness will be the end of civilized society. My only resolution for the New Year is: I am DONE with political correctness and elite class corruption.

I feel better now! Thank you again for this little home where I can talk and vent and visit and love a little family of wonderful people. Let's roll.

  10. Good afternoon, pond friends!

Deer Wog, please give Froggy my best wishes for a speedy recovery! I hope they figure out what is causing her sodium problems. Thoughts and prayers that she gets well soon! I hope the Seattle Seahawks win yesterday cheered her up! It is so exciting for us in this neck of the woods, to have a team that might go to the super bowl two years in a row. It makes it even better when the star quarterback, Russell Williams, is such a decent man off field and on. While some people would say, oh, it's just football, it's nice to have one thing that brings this politically divided state together!

Surfie, I thought your post was very interesting. I've been enjoying the low gas prices, but I've been concerned about what it means to the oil and gas industry. Also, my heart breaks for France. I read that the police confronting those terrorists had just billy clubs for weapons! Good grief, gun control will kill Europe! And all the experts are warning that it's just a matter of time before we have more of the same attacks here. Who is watching out for us? With the exception of a few good conservatives, the leaders of both parties are selling us down the river! God help this country, we need to wake up! Right now I feel that all we can do is pray for our country.

Sorry, I do get carried away sometimes. On a happier note, I just discovered the Pioneer Woman on TV. Sometimes I need a peaceful show about food to escape from the world. Yesterday, I made her recipe for hamburger soup, (more like stew) and it was delicious! Great for this cold weather. 

I wish all of you a wonderful week.

Love and prayers for all from Paget.

    1. Paget, such a newsy post. Sorry I didn't get to read it sooner. Froggy and I are back home, so I'll be able to keep up. We love your posts. Don't ever think they are too long. Yes, our Seahawks won. We are so excited. Next game will be on Sunday. News from France is horrible. It was amazing how many thousands of people showed up to show support for those who were killed.

  11. Surfie, Joe & I are new home hunting now as well. The owners of the house we've been renting have decided to retire and move in. Well, we always knew it was a possibility. They told us last year it was likely, but we were hoping they'd change their minds. They've been wonderful to us and it is their house, so we can't bitch about it. The trouble we have is that this area is such a summer place that we're having trouble finding anyone who will even consider renting on a year round basis. The few we've found are asking waaaaaay too much. I have a feeling that we'll have to go inland. Sigh. I'm all stressed out.

  12. Thank you Pond Family for the good wishes for our Froggy. She is better everyday and sends her Love. She said to keep hopping, and she'll be back soon.

  13. Good Morning Deer Ponders, Froggy and I are home. The hospital released her Tuesday afternoon. She was nervous about staying home alone, so I am not going to work today. I think that she is doing great. She is scared that she will fall again.

We are watching world news. They are still showing updates about the killings in Paris. So sad...and scary! The new edition of Charlie Hedbo, 3 million copies, sold out right away. They'll need to print
    more.

Hope all is well with our Pond Family. Drop by anytime. News items and politics are welcome. Some days there is too much news. Isn't John Kerry finally going to Paris? Hope he doesn't say something stupid. Actually it is already "stupid" that our country was not represented by someone of importance to march with all the leaders of the world. Guess there was a football game that the Great O didn't want to miss.

  14. Just dropping by to find out about Froggy and here I see she's home. Yay!! Hang in there, sweetie, and don't be afraid. Baby steps to get your confidence back. I know you can do it. I know it!

  15. Nancy Pelosi exploits Charlie Hebdo attack to defend Obama’s immigration policy
"Desperate to prove that there’s no level to which she will not sink; Nancy Pelosi has decided to use the Islamic terrorist attack on Charlie Hebdo as a way to defend Obama’s unilateral immigration orders. It seems that the Republicans are about to pass legislation that would completely fund the Department of Homeland security for the entirety of 2015, while simultaneously blocking funding needed to fulfill Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty plans. This, obviously, has Nancy Pelosi in a tizzy."

  16. I still can't get over the whole John Kerry/James Taylor fiasco. I mean, really! I wonder how the French kept straight faces while watching Kerry sway to You've Got a Friend. I never knew this was how we're supposed to fight terror. Kill them laughing?

    1. Eva, funny comment about Kerry. He's an embarrassment everywhere he goes. And he lied about most of his military service. How can he represent the honor of America when he is a dishonorable American?
