  1. The Great 'WOG has another busy week of bus riding. Going to work. Visiting Froggy at rehab...so Froggy doesn't feel abandoned. Also to see that the care-givers are treating her right. Drop by anytime. Anyone heard from our Phooey? Froggy always asks for news from our wonderful Pond Family.

    1. Thank you so much for hopping by Phooey. Your Pond Family worries when we don't hear from Sir Phoo. I will let Froggy know that you were here.

Phooey when you are ready to post comment. . . it says

If it says prove you are not a robot ??? That part is just stupid. What if we were robots? What then? Is there a website specially for robots? Isn't that some kind of discrimination? Your ladies love ya, Phooey.

  3. TGIF!!!!! Hello Deers from hot & humid flyover country.

Phooey, it was a treat to hear from you. We girls get nervous when the man of the house doesn't chime in. It truly is a pain to sign in these days. You can do it!!!!!

Froggy, hope you are doing better. Any idea when you can go back home? It's good to be getting care, but there's nothing better than being able to sleep in your own bed. Wog, you are a busy woman! Please remember to take care of yourself.

The economy here is beyond horrible. After laying off 6 people about a couple of months ago, another one was fired today (he needed to be fired), and another one will be layed off on Wednesday when she returns from vacation. None of these 8 people will be replaced because our business has slowed down so much. I am so grateful that the Good Lord put me in the exact job that will keep me "bad economy safe" for the rest of my working life. Thank You, Lord. Amen.

Now for some good news! I've been looking for a place to move to since January. I'm pretty picky. OK, VERY PICKY. I wanted a 30's vintage charming house or duplex in a safe part of the city, closer to work. Evidently, a lot of other people are looking for the same thing because somebody always got there before me. This week, I contacted a listing ONE HOUR after it appeared and 5 other people were before me. Long story short, they rented the place to me. I am so excited!

I'm moving 8/7. It's a duplex in a registered historic district, 1 bedroom, nearly 1200 sq. ft., in perfect condition. Beautiful 1935 architecture, hardwood floors, 30's art tile on the fireplace surround and in the bathroom. The neighborhood is rated very safe by OKC Police Department. My commute time to work will go from 40 minutes each way to 10 minutes each way.

You know what? I got so discouraged that I wanted to give up. I kept asking God to bring me to the right place and bring the right place to me, according to His Will. That is the same prayer I asked when looking for my job. That turned out well! I think this new home is going to be the same kind of blessing as my job is.

Love you Deers. I pray the Almighty bring the best to you and bring you to the best.

    Now, I need to pack!

    1. Surfie, it warms my heart and lifts my day when I see a post from you. So glad about your new apartment! I'll let Froggy know. She is still at rehab, and I am getting ready to run for the bus to spend the day with her. At least while I am on bus, I can relax...read, do crosswords, eat snacks.

Seattle is getting a couple more hot days. Everyone else in the country must laugh when Seattle folks complain about the heat!

  4. Wog, please give Froggy a Surfie Smooch on the cheek for me. Remember that beautiful glass starfish you two sent me? I can hardly wait to get moved, unpack, and find a special place for that little beauty. It is one of my favorite little treasures. Thank you both!!

I had a wonderful day yesterday. My brother's son and his family are in town. The family went to my brother's house to just hang out together and swim. My nephew and his wonderful wife have a daughter (9) and son (7). It made my heart sing to see how happy that young little family is, and how much joy they bring to my brother and SIL. Hope I get to be a grandmother some day.

Running errands early before it gets suffocating hot outside. Then more packing, cleaning, and making food for next week.

Hope to hear from more Deers. How is everyone?

  5. Surfie, hallelujah! Isn't it the most exhausting thing? Things will seem unsettled for awhile, but once you're there, it'll be so much better! I'm just glad you got what you were looking for. It's so hard to not give up and just take something, anything. Good for you for waiting!

  6. 'Wog, that whole 'prove you aren't a robot' checkbox is hysterical. Every time I check it, I laugh.

There is so much bad news out there now that I just can't take it. Where can I go to be a low-information voter? I think I'd be much happier.

It's very hot and humid here. I haven't been outside the entire day.
