Where did the year go?

  1. Hi Phooey! Hi Deers! Is Froggy hopping again?

EC, so great to hear from you! I think you are hooked on CSI. Love that show, too, but I was talking about NCIS with Mark Harmon (swoon). Gibbs, Tony, Abby, Ducky, McGee. Have fun getting caught up on that one! How is your wrist doing? How is your hubs?

Hope to hear from more Deers this weekend. I'm going to some garage sales, visiting with my sis at her new house to see how the renovation is going, but mostly relaxing in my own new digs and doing the usual (grocery store, laundry, cleaning house).

    2. Phooey! Surfie! Love to hear from you. Nice to know that everyone is okay. We watched NCIS for a while, but can't get into the new ones. I think a new season is starting soon.

Froggy has been doing very well. Eating a lot of popcorn. Resting. I'm going to lay down for while myself. Sunday we'll be watching the Seattle Seahawks first home game.

    3. Phooey, is correct, I have been watching NCIS LA, I am able to get the latest CBS shows of BlueBloods and our darling Mark NCIS DC the day after. CBS is a pig, now they want us to pay. Surf, you are an inspiration . My wrist is still hot but not swelled. I am OK, tough to type but legs are better, got rid of walker and not even using the cane.

    4. EC, sorry you are having some rough days. Sounds like you are slowly getting better. That's good news. Thanks for checking in. Ponders worry about you when we don't hear for a long time.

Froggy has been slow to improve too. Just takes time.

I thought we were watching football today...but Froggy went to lay down. Not the same watching games by yourself. I might go downstairs and see if any residents are watching on the big TV in community room.

  2. Thought you might enjoy this video. It's a mom reminding her son to call her from college.

  3. Good morning! Wog, I couldn't get the link to open but still had a good laugh just thinking about what that was probably like. I can relate!

Phooey and EC, I totally forgot about NCIS LA. How could I have forgotten Hettie? Love Hettie!

EC, it is so nice to see you back here on the Pond. Hope and prayers for you to continue feeling better.

I am shocked at how out of shape I am. Spent the day yesterday cleaning the exterior of windows in my new place. There are 16 of them, and all have 12 panes. My hands and upper torso muscles are incredibly sore, and my left index finger is swollen from the palm to 1st knuckle. I don't know if it's a spider bite or what. If it doesn't calm down by tomorrow, I'll have the doctor look at it. I love being a senior citizen. Just wish the body would cooperate!

BTW, it made me happy to open my shutters this morning and have sparkly clean windows!

Today's mission is to clean the wood floors. I have never lived in a house with wood floors throughout, so this will be interesting. Please wish me luck!

    Love you, Deers.

    1. Surfie, sorry about the link to "mom talking to son." I'll see if I can find another one, maybe on You Tube.

Take it easy with the cleaning. It's easy to over-do and pull a muscle. About the hardwood floors. Now you get to pick out some area rugs. That will be fun. Be sure to get no-slip kind. Or you can buy a no-slip backing to lay underneath. Wood floors are fun if you have animals. They slip and slide when they run really fast.

  4. Hello, all! I'm still here but I've been having trouble getting on the site for some reason. Probably my computer. I love Fall! It's my favorite season. Usually I do a lot of walking (especially along the ocean), but I sprained my foot (stupid accident) and now I'm hobbling. I'm pitiful, but it'll get better.

More later. Love to you all!!!!!

    2. Hi Eva, Howdy Phooey... Always a happy day at The Pond when we hear from you! Sometimes a sprain takes a while to stop hurting, but you are right - it will get better. Sometimes I wear a slip-on elastic "brace" to steady my ankles. Guess when you get older there is always something to put a brace on! lol

I have today off and Thursday too. I've decided to do nothing today. That's the best plan I could think of.

Phooey, EC.. who else watches...did you watch new season of NCIS? It's the number one show on TV.

    3. Sometimes Blogger is bad enough to drive a frustrated Frog from The Pond to the pub. The comment box disappeared.

So while I'm on here... be safe in the hurricane Joaquin. Looks like it will give all of you a bucket-load of rain and wind. Eva, stay off the beach. Hope you are not at sea level! You are, aren't you? Froggy said that she is worried about you and Joe.

From Froggy: Phooey, love my Phoobers!
