  2. Hello pond people!

I got the day off, so I'm doing last minute stuff. Small family gathering here tomorrow, and so I'm baking pies today and cleaning. First I need to pick up some forgotten items at the store. Need to get there fast and beat the crowds. ;)

Happy Thanksgiving Froggy, Wog, and friends!

Much love to you all. :D

  3. My goodness, I haven't slept like that in a long time! Lemmee see about these meds and see if I can get my bearings 'n I'll turn on the phone...

This has been a bad week for 'Woggy; they put in a new system this week that she's had to learn and they're all on overtime. And we've needed Thanksgiving things about the same time she's had to be back and forth to the pharmacy for me--which isn't easy on the bus after 8-10 hrs. at work.

She always feels bad not to make me a good holiday, but I told her, shoot, save it for the weekend when we can get ourselves together. Tomorrow, I think she'll just pop over to the hospital next door and grab some of their spread--I don't want her to run herself to death. We'll have our turkey breast this weekend.

What are you all doing? What kind of pie are you making? My favorite!

  4. Hi all. Morning to you Froggy and Woggy! Feeling any better?
I am a bit curious about all your sleeping. Is this a natural occurrence when being let off meds? Then again you have been sleep deprived for a very long time.

We are having a very small dinner just myself, hubby and son. They still expect turkey and dressing and pie etc. For pie as always I do sweet potato pie. Just substitute yams for pumpkin.
Our cat is being adopted from Forget Me Not Shelter in Republic. They named her Peanut. I don't know if she will keep that name. If you want to get a peek at her look on their website. She comes Dec 3.

  5. Hooly, love the name 'Peanut'! But, as I told Froggy, sometimes I just need to shutup! God bless you!

  6. Gloria,

I just checked out Peanut! Phooey's right, that is a cute name. But hey, it will be your cat and I'm sure you've got a great name in mind. She is a pretty girl, I love her markings.:)I watched her video too. She looked very sweet. :)That is a cool website. That rescue group is doing a great job promoting those kitties! (On a different note - daughter just adopted a kitten and SIL named her "PrimeTime" for Deion Sander's nickname! Geez...I told her they should have gone with "Deion" it has more dignity than Primetime...Oh well,it's their cat, and I know it is well-loved.)

Froggy, please tell Wog prayers are going out to her too. I know how hard it is to work overtime; and then she is dealing with buses and the rain...:( I grew up in Seattle, and when the sun is out, it is one of the most beautiful cities you will ever see. Too bad the price for that beauty is tons of rain! So tell her to hang in there! Sorry your Thanksgiving dinner will be delayed, but glad you will have one on Saturday. :)

I need to get busy and make a pecan pie. I found a delcious sounding recipe in Good Housekeeping for pumpkin parfaits, by the barefoot Contessa. So this year I won't be making a pumpkin pie. Hubby will cook the turkey, which is great. :) There will just be 6 of us this year. Me, hubby, son, MIL, dear friend and her niece.

I have to get off this computer and get to work. Yeah, but this is more fun. ;)

    Take care friends. :)

  7. Pies=calories, so no pies for me!

Actually, I'm not cooking this year at all. We're taking a friend, who has been out of work for 3 years, to dinner at a nearby restaurant. Kinda dull, but since we're not with our families, it's okay.

  8. Eva, you are so strong to not have pie. I have a pie in the oven right now and I am betting that it won't be cooled before someone digs into it.

  9. Hooly, I bet if I threw a pie in Eva's face... in nanoseconds her face would be cleaned by her tongue. Hehehe!
