Same here in OKC. It seems to take the wind (OKC should be called the Windy City instead of Chicago), but when it rains everything goes down.
Eva, I don't miss the trek from where you live into Santa Monica, or the reverse trek from where I lived into your neck of the woods. I guess the 405 is still under construction and a major headache. I DO miss Santa Monica, though. I REALLY miss Malibu, where I lived before moving to West L.A.
Beautiful picture of snow. I almost wish for a snow day here. It's cold and windy and ugly out there.
Hope everybody keeps getting over these horrible colds. I actually felt a bit better today, even though I went through a mountain of kleenex. Take care everybody. I'm going to sleep. Will see you all tomorrow!
We have had our power go on and off several times today. It really messes with the cable. It's only 8:00 am I the only one still awake on the west coast? Daughter says they are having thunder snow and high winds. I have been at home for 2 days mainly catching up on my knitting. Peanut is training DH. She has been very busy what with staying up at night to play luge in the bathtub. Because of the weather I got to postpone a procedure that I was dreading.
What I remember about L.A. was the signs on all the freeways about earthquake retrofit. Doesn't make you feel real safe.
I am still up waiting for the snow to appear. (You can do that when you're not working.) I stocked up on kleenex and munchies today just because the weatherman said it would snow.
Gloria, I tried to knit, but kept getting the stitches so tight that I couldn't get the needle in the next stitch. Crochet is more my forte.
FYI: Our cable--tv, phone, and Internet--has a tendency to go out when there's a wet storm here...
