Happy Thursday, Ponders!

  1. I have been particularly blessed; the doctor called and, after having diabetes for 22 years, I have NO sign of diabetic retinopathy which causes so many diabetics to lose their eye sight. YAY! I'm still happy as a clam!

  2. POTUS will be in our area tonight for George Clooney's big bash. Street closures would be 4-5 blocks from us. That's if they are routing a motorcade from LAX to Clooney's house. What makes me a little nervous is even though Air Force One is landing at LAX, he may take a helicopter to Burbank Airport and then drive to Clooney's. That would be faster because the house is 15 minutes from Burbank. Unfortunately, Burbank airport is ONE BLOCK from us!

    2. The great O was in Seattle all day. He left here about 4pm and flew to Eva's house. Enjoy!

  4. Good Morning Ponders...Yes, it really is Friday!

Our Froggy has an upset frog-tummy, and sore legs (too much hopping will do that!) Please, join in today. Friday is our Happy Day. I am at school (obviously not listening to the teacher!) Will hop by later and feed the fish.

  5. Sorry to hear of your upset tummy, Froggy! Sore legs, too? Been going at those PT exercises, have you? Take it easy.

I wish I could send Bambu to visit you. You could both comfort each other. I just got back from the vet with him. He had his 5 month follow-up ECG done. The vet will call with the results on Monday. He gets so stressed that I'm sure it shows up in his heart rhythm. I guess whoever reads the test know what to look for, though. Poor baby is wet with rubbing alcohol. I've toweled him off as best I can.

Puffin wasn't in the room when we left and I was hoping he wouldn't notice we were gone, but he was waiting for us when we came back. He did a lot of sniffing of his brother, but he didn't try and bite him or anything. The smell of the alcohol probably turned him off.

    Happy Friday, all!

  6. Hi all, I am still at school. Haven't heard from Froggy, and I don't see her on the Pond. will let you know later today how she is doing.

Eva, I used to be the one to take the cats to the vet...all three. I know that is it quite a chore, even on the best of days with the best of cats. With three cats, I had to catch them one at a time, shove each one in a separate cat carry, and carry them one at a time out to the elevator and down to the parking garage. Then I strapped each cat carry into the back seat of the car.. all in a neat little row. Way toooo much fun!

  7. Here's an evening update on Froggy. Too much frog food. She went back to bed. She'll sleep better knowing that I am home. I'll feed her some hot chicken soup later. (I'm serious about the soup). I think she is low on sodium, and the soup salt helps.

Eva, thank you for the Bambu offer. Even thinking about kitties makes Froggy smile.

Seattle is being spoiled by "more-than-one-day" of beautiful, warm, sunny weather. Don't know if this is just another teaser, or if summer is finally here. But we'll enjoy what we get.

I don't know how to post pictures or news at he Pond. Froggy is the expert. So we can meet here for a while.

Any super-dooper plans for the weekend, or are we all frog-napping?

  8. Good Saturday morning to all. Frogg, did you over do a little? Me and Princess Pea send hugs. Hope you are feeling better.

The sun is out again. Yea! I have 2 small garden spaces. Yesterday son tilled one for me as a Mother's Day gift. Yea! I planted one tomatoe plant. Yea! It's a start. Leg cramps last night - not so good. Today I plan to work on the Raspberries.

Isn't there an old saying about simple things amusing the simple mind?

I'll check in again later. Did anyone read Ulsterman? Updated and more info. Scarry and creepy.

  9. Saturday...Froggy was up for a while. Ate some cecken noodle soup. Seems better, but little energy. Went back to bed while I do homework. There is always homework in accounting class.

I'll have our FroggyMom show me how to post a picture, and I can put one up tomorrow if Froggy doesn't.

Speaking of Mom's...Happy Mother's Day to everyone... even if all you have is a nice kitty or puppy.

Seattle is enjoying the warm sun today. Love it!

Gloria, how nice that you have a garden. I miss pulling weeds, planting, watering ...and eating ...food from my own garden. Aren't Raspberry bushes a little prickly?

I checked Ulsterman's page..You were right; a lot of scary stuff. I always let Froggy tell all the political news. There is so much. Sometimes Froggy reads politics online for hours.

Eva, is Bambu surviving his trip to the vet? Sounds like a trauma for Puffin too..to find you and Bambu missing from the home.

  10. All is well at our house. Bambu felt much better as soon as his Daddy got home yesterday. He slept late this morning, too. Puffin got me up at 6am. I fed him and, as usual, couldn't go back to sleep myself. He had no problem with that, taking over the warm spot I'd left in the bed. Sigh. He's such a little stinker! If he has any heart at all, he should let me sleep in tomorrow!

Feel better, Froggy. 'Wog is doing a great job of keeping us informed. Don't read too much political stuff. Gloria is right. It's soooo scary.

I hope Surfie is having a great time with her son. What a weekend of pride this is for her!
